Coming from someone who used to suffer from bad credit (of course I owed what I spent) but when you have bad credit, you can always find a place to live so easily. Unless you have to have a way to move your stuff and that cost an additional expense if you don’t have a truck.
But she usually says that when someone OWES rent and squats, instead of paying rent they come up with excuses NOT to, like " there was roaches and broken water valves". These episodes are also really old, where cheap apartments were a dime a dozen and now north America is in a housing crisis. So very out if touch lolol
So sad…I know a neighbor who stayed in an apartment for almost a year not paying rent. She was going through a divorce , worked as a nurse and has a daughter, at the time of our conversation was 14. My neighbor told me by law she couldn’t be tossed out by the person she was renting from. So I asked her, now you can go back and give him your back rent. Sandy is living in a beautiful home, on a lake worth over 800k. She got back with her husband and laughed at the thought. I feel sorry for landlords falling victim to this law. Obviously I don’t want people to be homeless, but people renting out homes, building and/or apartments, that is a job to them. Being responsible, taking care of repairs, taxes, trusting others with THEIR investment. Owning a home myself problems come up that need to be taken care of. A renter can always leave. I hope a better law comes protecting landlords. Why why why are there so many people in America that are able to work, but want others to pay their way?…THE SADDEST part of it, some of these people feel they are entitled to it and see nothing wrong with their actions. All so wrong and very sad;(
You are right. And the sad thing is that the people that don't pay don't clean or look after the property either. I feel for people that for some reason can't pay it all, why don't they try to work with the landlord, perhaps pay what they can, move to another property that's cheaper and work out the rest with the landlord. Most people that I have seen here are people that never intended to pay and are dirty living pigs and just wait until they are finally removed then complain about the conditions to try and get out of owing anything! Ride and entitled!!

How are the dog owners blaming the driver?! The guy who lives in their guest house let the dog out! It's HIS FAULT! The audacity to blame the plaintiff is wild. Zero accountability or self-awareness! He didn't even call the vet! He left the dog laying there bleeding for SIX HOURS!

Towards the end of the video, the Defendant's child, Amanda Bishop, is massive for her age. It wasn't just a case of her smoking in the house, but she shouldn't have been smoking at all at 12 years old and, if her mother couldn't control her, then Social Services should have been called in to do it for her.
I always say the same thing! As a judge, you should have compassion and a basic understanding of people's lot in life. She is so removed from most people's reality. It's sad really.

The son of the Plaintiff Michelle v. Jason is an angry child, and understandably so. His mother was being attacked by Jason and, hearing this again, has made him mad. The camera kept panning onto him which showed how upset he still was. Perhaps he shouldn't have been in court during the telling of the Plaintiff's evidence.
That first case, I don't think the plaintiff should have been awarded the entire 3300$ for the credit card, no way she didn't also use that card for trip expenses, considering that she only brought 2,000$ with her. They should have both been responsible for 1/2 of the bill, she essentially got a free trip and the ex ended up footing the entire bill.
What JJ is saying if you don't like what you have then be proactive instead of reactive. Do something about YOUR situation. most just ignore things or put off the issues until its too late or too much of a problem. Sometimes times are tough and you do end up at a shelter. I did. Be grateful its not Gaza or Ukraine. Its your life deal with it !
