Hello, Rizalinda !!! nice to see the Tango alive in the PI !!! I'm curious to know if there are any Canyengue Dancers aside from Milongueras y Milongueros in Manila ?
    Your blog led me here.
I learned a bit of Milonga in 1997 upon seeing National Geographic Explorer's superb documentary with Juan Carlos Copes and Maria Nieves Rego, and Sally Potters movie "The Tango Lesson" on cable TV (no internet and TH-cam yet). Sadly, the lack of Internet meant there was no one with whom to dance so I set the love aside.
This week, I've been thinking of presenting the Canyengue for an intermission number in a college fund raising event in March, but am now faced again with the daunting thought of finding, and teaching a willing dance partner. Any advice or recommendation ?
Are there any accessible Tango Salons in Manila ?
    Regards,
    Ron

PeriodinstrumentfaN Hi Ron, thanks for your message. I really hope you'll find a partner.
Canyengue tango is not danced much here but if ever, it is danced like a milonga. But if the leader is good, it is not difficult to follow. I think I can follow if lead in canyengue!😊
We jave milonga places everyday here in Manila, FYI.
      Keep tangoing!

I hope i can join one of your Milonga soirées. I know the basics, and hope to improve. Good news !!! I found a co-faculty member willing to learn. Edgardo Donato's "Ella es asi" sounds good for beginners. Not too fast. ^_^ Thanks for replying !!! ^_~d
