So this past September I spent a bit of time in New York where I finally had the chance to meet long-time youtube friend, Paulo. We've been collaborating and talking for 5 years now and it was really great to meet him and so moving to finally be able to sing in the same room with him! Hope you guys enjoy this rendition of "Falling Slowly". If you haven't already seen the movie "Once", I highly recommend it!

Paolo, I understand medical school is hard, and it leaves little time for yourself, but please don't stop playing music ever. You're an amazing musician and singer and we'd all really hate to see you stop.
Also, I speak from personal experience. Ever since I joined university, I've stopped writing short stories and essays and I really regret it now.

I stumbled upon this on Facebook, I really liked the story behind it:
"Before medical school I was really into music. I'd work really hard on some songs, and post them on TH-cam, and sometimes they'd get a few thousand views. There was a girl I used to collaborate with. We did a few covers together. But I went to medical school, and she skipped college and focused on music full time. Anyway, she's doing great now. All her songs get hundreds of thousands of views, and she just got back from a tour in Asia, and is talking with some major record labels. The funny thing is, she stopped in New York awhile back, and we met up and recorded a cover together, just for old times sake. We just threw it together really quickly, but because of who she is now, that song got more views than the combined total of everything else I ever worked on. It's funny how things work out."
Paulo, both you and Daniela are miracles. Your story is just as amazing as hers, maybe more so. I hope your medical training has worked out. Now you are a miracle worker too .. I have followed your songs since the very first one along with Daniela (Hazy by Rosie Golan). I started to follow Daniela pretty closely back then, but I find myself treasuring your songs with her almost exclusively over time. I also listen to your channel just as much as hers now, and the songs you've posted there though fewer, are wonderful. Your music is a gift. Thank you. I just wanted you to know that after all these years .. people still listen to YOUR music .. please post something new when you get time. Your story IS amazing.

Its never too late Paolo! You two are great together, and you should never ever ever let go of your dream to be a musician. You are so blessed to have the medical profession as well, many musicians don't have a way of making ends meet. Push through your exhaustion from your residency and keep recording when the spirit strikes you.
....When you have no idea what HONY is.....And you just came for a cover that does justice to the incredible original.... Good job guys A BIG THUMBS UP

What I like about this cover apart from these beautiful voices is that you both really respect the song. You didn't go out of your way to "make it your own" like other youtubers, which I normally like. But in this case, I think keeping it close to the original was a good call. Great cover!

I got a love and hate thing going on with the movie "Once". It brings me back memories of the girl I love but it also signalled the ending of that relationship. My girl and I watched about half of the movie before we broke up but I could never bring myself to finish watching it. Yeah I know, sob story noone cares about.
