Setembro is one of my favorite songs by Ivan Lins not only because I'm Brazilian, but also because it has a very soothing harmony and Take 6 nailed that song. Great job as always! Best acapella group ever!
The timbre change between Merv’s lead and yours is what makes that a cappella breakdown stand out. If you had done the first sections, our ears would have been “tired” of the melody by that point. Instead, you came in and gave it new life after Merv’s sincere introduction. Quincy served that track well!
Yeah..Just had a re-listen of Septembro.. Merv did a great job.. As you all. You can really hear all of you.Dave, Mark...Ced, and of course Alvin. Bruce Swedein did a great mix on your vocals..
Thanks for sharing. I remember the song like it was yesterday. Quincy is an amazing producer. I have mad respect for him. I will go listen to the song again. Much blessings to you.
love the series BIG BRO... I figured that was Mervyn on the lead in the beginning because on the "From Q With Love" greatest hits album, on the last track, "At The end of the day", the song and lead sounds almost IDENTICAL. You guys KILLED it though. Its definitely a song that takes you to another universe for a few moments. A great escape!
I couldn't even imagine hearing your vocals 1st.. wouldn't have ruined the song but most definitely would have changed the surprise factor ..when you come in later... I feel that you're the "mood" setter in the song.
I’m years later but these are GEMS Thanks C Mac!

That’s absolutely why I believe Q changed it up 💯💯
Also remember the second lead was Sarah Vaughn. Q worked the changes from person to person beautifully:)
@@ClaudeMcKnight3 Absolutely!
Perfect analysis Evan (From Accent).:)
