Fantastic. Great footage of in the lift shaft. That CCTV room is awesome. I'm wondering what the 'DO NOT USE BUTTON' does. Emergency alarm? All those PA amps! And I just knew you'd get on a bed. 🙂
It was very interesting to see the Motor of an OTIS 2000 Lift. Because the shopping centre that I go to (Festival place, Basingstoke) Had a LOT Of them and Most of them are from 2001 or 2003

@@JamesPetts Town centers are failing. I wonder if town centers will even exist in the same way in 10 years time. People want out of town American style retail parks to do their remaining shopping that hasn't moved to online. Town centers are now full of failing shops, tacky shit shops, and not much else.
wow that House of Fraser not as big as many others around the uk, some that have like 4 or 5 floors of shop itself compared to the 3 shop floors in this one. i do wonder how many House of Frasers are left as a working shop still aswell. one thing about department stores i love is there old style detail to the building. most are untouched from when they was first built
It is a big one. 3 floors of department store. Each floor is quite big. I would say it is the same size as all the other ones.
The one in Bristol has 4 floors. Lower and upper ground, 1 and 2.
to say about my local one in lakeside that one is very small and only has 2 floors which is G and 1

There was one in Manchester with the old American style Otis lifts, but the old bhs has partially been taken over by uniqlo
At least unlike the video where Beno got stuck in the Beales lift he didn't get stuck in the lift in this video despite pressing the button with tape on it 🙂

Hey Beno, how do you know if a lift is a MRL?
i’m no expert but i’m sure it’s made apparent by the… absence of a motor room
It's generally not too difficult. The most obvious tell is if there's a logic cabinet on usually the top floor.
MRL means Machine-room-less or motor-room-less so the motor will be in the lift shaft and the logic is most likely by the lift doors. You can see Beno opening up logic cabinets of Kone EcoDisks which are MRL's outside the lift doors.

What are All of the 4 lifts?
The weird thing is the screen showed 4 lifts but there are only 2 lifts here unless it is counting the platform lifts. I am not sure why this security screen shows the lifts, I looked at the security logs and it doesn't log the lifts going in inspection.
