I gave up on this campaign after trying to defeat Cawl about 10 times, with various warlords. I am a free to play player, so I don't have the meta lords of war. Maybe with those it would have been a different story, but alas, that is not the case for me. Just my 2 cents, but this thing has happened before with another campaign and I thought the community was loud and clear about the fact that, between a "tough and challenging" campaign and a "very easy to go through" campaign, people lean towards the "easy" campaign. Also, being an anniversary campaign you would expect to get the rewards easily, like a "thank you" from the developer for playing the game and being part of the community. Anyway, it is what it is. 10x for your effort, Shintobean!
I hear ya, and I know for a fact that event campaigns in the past were not this difficult. The combination of lords of war with 400 point game modes have made the difficulty ceiling too high for newer players who don't have those cards in their collections.
Just got a second strike on SC Vahl, but I'll get there. Lost one playing dumb on a Tolmeron XD I'm excited for the Plague Psyker, prime candidate for my Epic Wild Cards :D
I've been tinkering with Ahriman, including a Ranged deck. Skulltaker may scale well for his ability to knock out Acheran/Regen cards. The Masque's rule is super strong too, but so useless itself :/
Last ~7 lvls quite difficult, spend 100 plasma to get to the end. Beat Cawl with Zymot, in other fights Parasite is enough. Of lords of war used only Norn Emissary. In the most fights the campaign is good, but Cawl is extremely hard, his rule is imbalanced
Well good for you - but I feel that the campaign is just too high a wall for a 5th anniversary celebration. Not much joy to have in it, I don't like the strike system, and the campaign is non-winnable for casual, FTP, or mid-level players. In short, could be better.
Honestly if it were entirely up to me it would have been much easier. I wanted to make a campaign that was fair for everyone. Unfortunately I was told to make it more difficult, and we ended up with this one. It is hard to make a campaign that satisfies both new and old players though.
I am stuck on Cawl, i have no Tyranid lord of war or supreme commander although i bought several lord of war bundles. I got close with the parasite but close aint enough ;)

Do you have a favorite chaos warlord btw? (other than the new Abaddon) I feel like many of them don't scale very well at max level

If I ever design another campaign I will be sure not to combine Cawl with lords of war bodyguards
