A little tip for CEX customers buying PS2 games or other DVD/CD disks "check the disk before leaving the store, if it is a little bit scratched or really scratched it is free to get them resurfaced in store" they have a top of the range disk resurface machine in store behind the counter. I always ask before I take them home. As I said it is free but you will need to hang in the store for a while when they clean the disk or disks up.

I've got that silent hill. But wouldn't pay 18 quid. But if you use cex like it should be used. Would cost me 5 or 6 quid in trade. example. Pick a load of lego 360 games from the boot at a quid each.trade in then get like 18 quid games for cheap. I wouldn't pay cash in cex. No way.

CEX is not very good for collectors got to check they are original covers not ones they printed off themselves

During my summer holiday I visited few flea markets in nearby cities. Bought some DVD's and one PS2 game. It's the WRC, World Rally Championship, 2001 season game, paid 4 Euros for it. So far I have only 10 PS2 games and two of them are digital downloads for PS3. Can't collect them all but maybe buying some games here and there :)
I was in london for our 5 day honeymoon :P the previous month.I went to the CEX that was on the Shakespeare place ,and then on 2 of the cex that were below the fitzrovia region on london.And i got 2 dreamcast controllers 5 pounds each.I got a vmu for 6 pounds,1 rumble pack for dreamcast for 5.And a zelda ocarina of time for the n64 for 18 pounds.I always heard that england was kinda expensive for retro stuff,but here in greece the prices are outrageous and in comparison i thought that england is cheaper.A wii U console complete in box was 65 pounds and in greece it is above 180 euros.To put this on perspective my monthly salary is 700 euros and the monthly rent is 350...
£5 ain't much to be fair gem but u did well to be fair . Good to show it can be done on a budget . Just closing in on 600 ps2 games myself love collecting for the system and some great playable games . Keep the pickups coming, we love em ;)
Well, those covers are at least printed at here Gamestop just spells the title with the pen on the paper and puts that to the sleeve. =/
Also I could esily spend 300€ to store like that. =) And I bought a brand new copy of Silent hill 2 for PS2 few years ago for 7€

£22 for a playstion controller. I have a box full of them and their basically worthless. CEX are a rip off. Guess not changed from when I lived in loughborough.
I think its getting harder in cex for myself tbh got most of the good ones or there creeping in price usually dont spend over a 10er a game
Do you check the cases for damage . i love going in to cex and buying ps2 games . I only buy them if the case are good or cheap and always check the disk for scratches and get them to clean them. I have started to buy some random ps2 games for my collection. Now do a 50 game challenge seeing how many games you can get for £10
It's funny how they up the prices for games they know people like whether or not it's actually rare and how many in stock they have. Silent Hill 2 is the best silent hill so yep lets put it up regardless .. it's a business i get it but cmon. I saw Simpsons hit and run there and that just reminded me that i don't own it .. my god man +!!
7:51 72 pounds for the SNES consoles? That’s worth $86.81 here in the United States. Personally, I wouldn’t think it’s worth buying because with the New 3ds XL, which I currently possess, you can play retro games ANYWHERE you go. I believe that its original price when it was first released would’ve been higher than 72 pounds/ $86.81. But hey.....some people may believe that these consoles still has “souls” and it’s worth buying at that price

CEX stabbed their selves in the foot with the NES and SNES mini systems when they first came out, they were buying them of customers at a high price "Basically they were scalpers and buying in to many" I know this to be true as I was once in GAME and a customer payed the RRP for a NES mini and then walked over to CEX which is only a few yards away and exchanged it for cash and gained an extra £20 from what they payed at GAME.. CEX were selling these for well over £100 at the time, now they have to many in their warehouses and are trying to re cooperate their looses.. So that is why they are at stupid prices. I can go to Argos and get one at RRP. You missed a game that I have been after for a while, they had it at my local CEX a few years back and I did not pick it up "stupid me" and then they stopped selling PS2 titles (SHOX by EA BIG) you picked it up in CEX, it is a fantastic racing rally game "Arcade style" If you like SSX games then you would love that game. It was really cheap and fairly hard to find these days..

You'll hardly ever get a good deal with CEX because they just charge market prices or more. It's the same with Ebay. The only way you'll get a good deal is if you're sat on a chair, refreshing the page like a mad man for hours on end. The rare time CEX has been cheaper than Ebay, the items were always out of stock on their website.

It's like GameStop here. With the original cover of without, it's still the same price. It's frustrating however when you pick up a used game and then they switch it out for a different copy. I had that happen once and they gave me a shit copy. Scratched on top and coffee stained. Yet they wouldn't take a disc with minor scratches (that came like that Purchsed from them).

Hey Gemma. I do enjoy collecting for the PS2, of course I haven't picked up anything for it as of late. Some of those games I never heard of and some I have but don't know if they are any good. PS2 has such a huge library of games, still a fair amount of games that I want to add to my collection. Thanks for the video and showing the games you picked up. Take care.

Started my self on ps2 collection inspired by your game hunts n vids gemma. Got gta collection, def jam vendetta n nyc, alsotony hawks underground n 007 collection. On hand for nfs underground n blood will which I know is rare n v expensive still hopefull. Will be venturing on carboot next weekend
Carboots the place to find the ps2 stuff. see alot of the same games. But always more sort after ones to be found.ive had some great finds over the years. 👍

On a side note I bought my Silent Hill 2 for £7 a couple of years ago, so that has jumped up a lot!
