    I've found that buying the glass with the bezel already installed is actually cheaper than buying them separate and it makes it easier plus it acts kind of as a guide for the LCD and makes it to where it can't go far off center

      Follow up. I have my kit. At 4:30, I'd love to see those screws come out with the tool I was provided. I'm on hour 3 removing the second of these screws. Still wont budge. About to do permanent damage to the LCD. (I've replaced these before with other kits) Tools are total garbage.

    I used a can of compressed air upside down to instantly freeze the glass (I MEAN FREEZE GOOD) and it really made it easy to release the glue from the glass.. maybe easier than heating it.. Just a tip if anyone heard to use dry ice, I didn't have that so I took a chance with the upside down air can and it worked well.

    I just got my kit after a couple weeks without any communication from ErCellutions. I was getting ready to dispute the transaction, and suddenly I see a tracking number on my PayPal account. The kit came with poor quality tools, but its what you see in the photos on the site, so I expected that. My kit did NOT come with a Y-tip driver needed for the repair. Luckily I already had one of my own.

    I tried the wire method on an iphone 8+. Got about 90% thru it and the wire cut thru the polerizing layer on the digitizer. Basically this ruined the screen. Trashed it and ordered an new replacement screen. I kept the glass warm with heat gun, but not too hot. Not sure where I went wrong.

    • @ytshortchannel224
      @ytshortchannel224 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      tristan2reveur well, if you're doing machinery method then you can remove the film. This is Loca, Oca and Loca are different! Loca is a liquid where OCA is a film. Polarizer is removed to make the process simpler as the glass came with the polarizer. If you're doing this method DO NOT REMOVE THE FILM!!! You will damage it.
      Good luck

    Why do you have to take off the thermal plate if you are just going to remove the outer glass? I ask because I can only get a couple of the tri-wing screws out of the thermal plate holders. The other four won't budge.

    • @floridaapplemacprosinc.2224
      @floridaapplemacprosinc.2224 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think hes refering to the white piece, you always have to reuse the plate. Ive found from experience the screw drives you get in kits are cheap, and strip. in this case, its teh high quality screws stripping the drivers LOL.

    • @davidlaplant4201
      @davidlaplant4201 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@floridaapplemacprosinc.2224 At approximately 4:28 he starts unscrewing the 6 screws which attach the metal plate behind the lcd. At approximately 4:50 he unscrews the last of the screws and then jumps ahead without showing his removal of the metal plate which I am calling a thermal plate. I am wondering what is the point of removing that metal plate if you are only going to flip it over and work on removing just the outer glass?

    • @floridaapplemacprosinc.2224
      @floridaapplemacprosinc.2224 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidlaplant4201 the plate has to go back on after you put back the camera and home button. you always transfer the plate if you were getting another glass. I never do this. I have a shop, and im not saving that much money by saving 6 dollars a phone to have to do all this extra work.
