If I may. Last time it was a difficult task to win with the Waffentragen. Now it's a different story. Did you notice that the spawn points are the same when you kill minions? And you can instantly get the shields off again and again. It's too easy now I think. And harder for a Waffentragen.
I find the missions easy to do everyday, do like this game you hit the nail on the head I was already doing that taken down the bases or leaving just one red tank as I tell the team when I start keeping their defences low helps to win. Amazing how many people it has not clicked yet with them.
I have never lost a single game in Waffen. It is dead easy, you dont even need a tactic. It is enough to make them lose one charging after they've done 2 before, so you ruin their extra dmg dpm, and you can comfortably snipe from the spot or sit in corner of map. Ridicolously easy

Yeah, I considered myself rather intelligent than not, but it took me some time to realize, that by receiving 3 plazma charges they meant holding them all at once (that is not dying between getting them). As winning the game was not necessary, this mission actually made many players to not care about the outcome of the battle - they were just collecting charges and hiding from the Waffentraeger. The "play 3 (or was it 4) battles without being killed more than 3 times" mission had a very similar effect.
Thing is, if the team is actually playing correctly you shouldn't each die even 3 times or be incapable of getting to 3/4 plasma, because if you're dying you're losing all the plasma you collected and actively making the match harder for all the harriers since you're taking over 30 seconds to respawn

The plasma mission messed me up for a day till i realised you just need to destroy 3 shield gens without dying (get the blue boost thing at the side of your reticle to 75%) for 4 times,u can do it with the same tank
As a 49% win-rate player. I went 4-2 in the waffntrager. Including a game in which the harriers only got one charge. Pro tip if you shoot the charger with the 2 key. You can reset the progress to 0%. Aim for the base.
The Hyperion ability does make the Blitztrager more interesting to play as and play against. Good players will know when to expect it that doesn't mean it won't interrupt a generator capture.
Yeah I'd suggest that when Hyperion is 100% tanks without charge ability ready shouldn't cap unless they're the only tank around. If you hit charge the moment Hyperion fires you will survive.
I played 1 battle as the BT and had no chance at all. The other side split into 3 groups, took out every generator all at once, and ripped me apart. Too slow to run, too slow to attack, and on the long ass mag reload they just chased me off or did whatever I was trying to prevent them from doing in the first place. With all the generators down basically all the time I never had any powerups available to even use. It was not even remotely fun.
I'm liking it, the game mode can be hard to win when you have a complete noob on the team. I got thru day one on day one :P Didn't take a lot to figure it out. The key, I think, is paying attention and being on top of the gens as shields down runs out. So if three or four are attacking Blitrager, 2 can be on a Gen, or clearing a Gen so we get right back to it.
The best thing to do if your too far away from the generator with 30 seconds left of the game is to save up and use hyperion on it. The enemy tanks have to leave to survive and cant get back in time so it garantees a win.
Yea, I got to play a little of this before it ended, but it felt fun playing on both sides. Hopefully Wargaming can bring back other past events with improved balance.
Although this BT did not play well, teleporting away is actually a good strategy. Because the hunter team would probably waste 45 seconds looking for the BT and don’t even have time to clear the camps.
today's mission was really the worst : 7 battles and in each battle you have to not die more than 3 times , all my teams just went cruising around not doing anything. also abilities decided to be only used once today , could not use the heal feature on pojiska more than once then it keeps being greyed out..... wg truly messed up
yep, i was actively _hoping_ we just lose as soon as possible. although i did make an effort to help the team in case they have different missions, if i got scragged 1-2 twice, i then just went into corner and waited for game to end. great incentivising
The whole "trying competitively in a non-competitive game mode" is interesting because if you are a free to play player, you only have so many chances to try to finish the Engineer missions. You have to try hard. That's not to excuse stream sniping, just saying as the Waffle, you want to get your 70 kills as fast as possible.

Actually use the teleport to go far from cap points is not a bad idea when you cant manage to get to the generator, it saves me a lot of times because you can find a good cover to defend yourself and they come to you with maybe only 20 or less secs of time left. You can teleport to a generator full of bots too and cover yourself with the generatos structure and you can avoid a lot of dmg in that way, when you are not a top player (I consider myself an average player) sometimes is about to play smartly not just damage
Thumbs up to WG for enabling players to join as WT everytime the waiting gets too long. Probably the only good decision they have made in several years
These missions are easy for me and (I checked) I average about 12k dmg (not as Waffentrager) and TVP is nice and all, but has too low dpm for me. Thunderbolt or Resistor are the best ones in my opinion. Plus if Waff.'s player isn't at least pretty good you can touch sides (especially in Thunderbolt) and he can't do much, unless he has this stun area abillity. Even that abillity cannot do much, if you both are close to a border, or a bunker or something other that's impassable. Edit: Oh and I'm NOT a good player at all. I think I just figured out how to play in this event (to do well). Edit 2: 4:01 Oh and this map is the most difficult in my opinion, because, shield generators offen appear in position, so that at least two of them can be defended by Waff. and he... it? can hide in the castle ruins. On this map you're even more dependant on your team. Edit 3: 16:04 Respawn time gets longer the more you get destroyed. Edit 4: I played 15 more games and Thunderbolt is OP, 16k average dmg and at least two shots from Waff. blocked (not even in the tracks) in every game.
13 games afk, i think you get 350xp min even if you do FA and lose. although i didnt do that, i actually grinded out the 5-10 games (a few wins, a few higher up the ranks gives 500xp etc)

The skill based matchmaking has kinda broken the mode imo and turned the whole thing on it's head. If you're in 55%+ matchmaking and the majority of them play the foudre with the shield and they time it right (which they do at that win%) your damage output in the BT is heavily compromised and you barely stand a chance. I think if the harriers had to carry the energy from the bots to the towers again it would be more balanced as the mode has become far too stationary now and the BT is forced to make lose-lose decisions all the time when 2 towers are being capped.
You covered on playing with your audience, remind again is that with only same server or is NA an option. Wondering for a one day maybe. Still have a lot to learn. Patients is the biggest, find my self thinking to hard in situations that cause me to fail the team. 😅
So far out of maybe 4 games in the 110, I have won 1. Funny enough it was the one I was only trying to complete a mission for kills, I think I got 23 kills in a single game. I kept their plasma down, and camped the cleared generators.
I am stuck on having 2 of 4 plasma missions done. Have played about 30 games too. I am an avg player. The other missions are usually pretty easy. Games seem to end too soon and a few times I swear go the plasma and didn't get credit for it.
The event is fun, the mission are a time suck. How am I to maximize the premium time I get from the Gate Keys, when I have to grind the event for the missions.
What sucks is the waffen missions don't reset so everyone is stuck playing harriers and farming only those so wait times are insane purely because of that. If it reset everyday OR GAVE A BONUS FOR PLAYING HIGHER REQUIRED ROLES, then it wouldn't be so bad. Yw wg
All this format gives us is, if you found it difficult to win with players at your level. Then players like myself at around 48%, then it will be nearly impossible. It's an elite version.
as you said, its more balanced. you also can grind out the free prize track just from the harriers, you dont need engineers missions. although the extra engineer rewards are nice. finally the mission mix... is weird. encourages some very strange behaviour. some you have to cower in the corner and not die. some you can just log in, go afk and grind out 13 battles doing FA. some you have to damage steal from your team mates. some you actually have to win. its a mixed bag, but mostly they are doable and its not all 'you have to win and be in the top 3' etc shtfests

I dont really think its skill based mm. Its usually ⅓ completely easy win, ⅓ absolutely no chance to win and ⅓ somewhat ballanced. And it goes like this for both WT and hunters. Sometimes when i have WT i just let them take 1 or 2 generators just so the battle doesnt end and i can enjoy obliterating them, or from thevother side, sometimes i dont shoot the WT at all and just focus on sentinels so i can buy some time for the WT by not taking its HPs and farm some free dmg. And also i had most succes with foudre, right it does not have healing ability but if you play it smart, you dont need it as long as your shield is working which last 3 days just doesn't work at all. Am i the only one experiencing this weird bug when you cant use the power ups on hunter tanks?
The thing that made the plasma mission was so dam anoying was that i kept playing it said collect 3 plasma in 4 games and i kept collecting 3 plasma in the circles but i dindt realise you had to have 3 at the end of the game so you could not die. So this took me 4 games to realise where i was like wtf i collected 3 in the game but didnt get the mission. Also this mission made everybody so scared of dying and pretty mutch just wanted to losse.
Honestly I think they overdid the rework. Last year playing against the BT was actually scary, you NEEDED teamwork to have a chance, even against a relatively average playing in the BT. Now they've completely defanged the whole event: Anybody can overload the generators Healing to full health damage boost AND the BT loses all their powers when they lose their shield? Anybody complaining its too easy to win as the BT is smoking something far too good, the Hyperion cannon only helps a little to offset all of this. If you could still use it with your shield down, that might have been ok, since it could have been this omnipresent danger throughout the whole battle that keeps you constantly on edge. but NOPE! WG be like "Lets make the scariest tank in the whole game an EXP piñata with no way to fight back." Goes completely against what the whole game mode is about. Stop pandering to the scrubs WG.
Hey quicky baby :) i will be honest they never dissapoint the amount of bonds you get they really need to keep this story up TIP: the Resister with its high explosive shell could be a unique idea for normal tanks
I’d rather have the speed modules the healing is pointless if you keep your health reasonable high and cap a generator you heal back to full after the generator cap
The skill-based matchmaking actually made it worse for me, because I have an old account and I played most of my games when I was a child years ago, so I have like 46-47% win rate even though now I'm good. The result is getting teams who go all together to the same generator instead of pressuring different ones, which allows the WT to kill everyone there. And sometimes even when splitting and capturing 2 at the same time, the guys who get attacked by the WT stay in the generator as if they were some heroes and die for no reason when there's a different gen being captured for free and losing all that precious extra damage, people NEED to learn how to play as a team instead of thinking they're some hero going against the WT. Oh and everyone goes to damage the WT when its shield are down so I'm left alone doing gens, and then time runs out with no gens ready to be captured all the time because of that. As for playing as the WT, it feels easy since I'm the whole team playing against the noob team I just described, but I feel like the teams are balanced this year as QB said, it's just that you're the whole team if you're playing the WT and the mistakes/plays you make are equivalent to the harriers ALL doing mistakes/plays, which leads to a good player having easy matches and a bad player having hard matches, but that's ok, the people who die for no reason instead of doing more generators aren't.
Lol, they can do skill based MM for an event but refuse to do it for standard play so that those trying their best can get shafted by people who don't care.
skill based MM will kill this game very fast. this event is not important, so it is fine there, but in randoms, players do need the tourist to farm. skill diversity in MM is not the problem in this game, tank balance in MM is. it is a popular thing to rant about, but it is not true and there are some smarter CC-s out there, who have figured this out, that skill is not an issue. games are fast and 15-2 because tanks are too fast, DPM is too high and view range is too good. one mistake or bad RNG and it is usually done. team that made the mistake or got the bad RNG can not recover from it most of the time, because of the things mentioned above. and the other thing is tank balance. I have had so many games, where one team has AMX50B, T57 and 113 and the other team has Maus, vz55, Sconq and 279e, for example..... it has been even 3 vs 5 HT in to tier and i have seen these extra 2 to be chief and 279e.... go figure , right:)
Tbh, you only won bc of the hyperion. Almost everyone who has played more than once as the bte100 uses it at the last second making it an auto win ability no matter how badly you misplayed your positioning and shooting. As far as balance, it's not. It's much easier to win as the bte100 than the harriers. You have to get lucky with the cap point placement and map and hope that the other 5 don't waste time shooting the bte100 with the shield up or try to "hold" her at one location for too long.
I didn’t even realize there was going to be sbmm in this mode, but I realized every time I played the BT my opponents were all 53-57% players and it was pissing me off so much (I’m only 53% btw) it completely ruins this mode for me and I already stopped, I’m not playing wot to sweat my ass off 10 games out of 10
Today the abilities have been really bugged and the healing ability hasnt worked in half of the battles resulting into unnecessary deaths

You can literally play the WT for free if you have no keys and queue for the harriers

The foudre that was blocking you may have been doing it as you pushed him a little earlier at 4:23 (accidentally). Just a theory.
He later asked in battle chat why QB is playing offstream. That Foudre player knows who he was blocking.

I’ve read everything twice and haven’t a clue how to play this mode effectively. So frustratingly I just play it for the sound of explosions.
Drives me nuts how the “how it works” hints only appear for a second. Never have had the 20 seconds warmup to read it.
3500XP in the Harriers takes forever. While I enjoy the game mode, I do dread to play the Blitz. The map totally determines how easy it can be to win.

The increased BOT AI is the best part of this event. No more easy wins. You actually have to play :)

They nerfed the mission yesterday and now you only need to collect 2 plasma in 4 games.
the blitz can call for fire with the bots now so maybe he was wait to get to the bot that can kill you fast
What sucks is the waffen missions don't reset so everyone is stuck playing harriers and farming only those so wait times are insane purely because of that. If it reset everyday OR GAVE A BONUS FOR PLAYING HIGHER REQUIRED ROLES, then it wouldn't be so bad. Yw wg
All this format gives us is, if you found it difficult to win with players at your level. Then players like myself at around 48%, then it will be nearly impossible. It's an elite version.
as you said, its more balanced. you also can grind out the free prize track just from the harriers, you dont need engineers missions. although the extra engineer rewards are nice. finally the mission mix... is weird. encourages some very strange behaviour. some you have to cower in the corner and not die. some you can just log in, go afk and grind out 13 battles doing FA. some you have to damage steal from your team mates. some you actually have to win. its a mixed bag, but mostly they are doable and its not all 'you have to win and be in the top 3' etc shtfests

Qb got the easiest map were you can just stay in middle for 75% of the time. That is not possible on the other maps.
I wonder if that guy that was blocking your shots was the same guy you rammed on accident earlier in the match? I'd have to rewatch to see. Cause, some people are rather salty when things like that happen and get fairly vengeful.
there are some missions where you have to be in top 4 or something, and you dont have to win, so it pays to cokblock and grief your own teamates

For some reason, now the abilities are bugged and randomly gets disabled until you die. Which renders some tanks half useless. GGs WG, good work.
I bought like $30 of keys for the first time, I got a T54 heavy and a ISU-152K, I have like 200 battles lol, but 80,000 battles on blitz, my skills from blitz have not crossed over to pc…
I dont really think its skill based mm. Its usually ⅓ completely easy win, ⅓ absolutely no chance to win and ⅓ somewhat ballanced. And it goes like this for both WT and hunters. Sometimes when i have WT i just let them take 1 or 2 generators just so the battle doesnt end and i can enjoy obliterating them, or from thevother side, sometimes i dont shoot the WT at all and just focus on sentinels so i can buy some time for the WT by not taking its HPs and farm some free dmg.
And also i had most succes with foudre, right it does not have healing ability but if you play it smart, you dont need it as long as your shield is working which last 3 days just doesn't work at all.

In the 1st game with the Wt at 400hp you could have shot him, even with shields up he would die

The thing that made the plasma mission was so dam anoying was that i kept playing it said collect 3 plasma in 4 games and i kept collecting 3 plasma in the circles but i dindt realise you had to have 3 at the end of the game so you could not die. So this took me 4 games to realise where i was like wtf i collected 3 in the game but didnt get the mission. Also this mission made everybody so scared of dying and pretty mutch just wanted to losse.
Honestly I think they overdid the rework. Last year playing against the BT was actually scary, you NEEDED teamwork to have a chance, even against a relatively average playing in the BT. Now they've completely defanged the whole event:
Anybody can overload the generators
Healing to full health
damage boost
AND the BT loses all their powers when they lose their shield?
Anybody complaining its too easy to win as the BT is smoking something far too good, the Hyperion cannon only helps a little to offset all of this. If you could still use it with your shield down, that might have been ok, since it could have been this omnipresent danger throughout the whole battle that keeps you constantly on edge.
but NOPE! WG be like "Lets make the scariest tank in the whole game an EXP piñata with no way to fight back." Goes completely against what the whole game mode is about. Stop pandering to the scrubs WG.

I’d rather have the speed modules the healing is pointless if you keep your health reasonable high and cap a generator you heal back to full after the generator cap

The skill-based matchmaking actually made it worse for me, because I have an old account and I played most of my games when I was a child years ago, so I have like 46-47% win rate even though now I'm good.
The result is getting teams who go all together to the same generator instead of pressuring different ones, which allows the WT to kill everyone there. And sometimes even when splitting and capturing 2 at the same time, the guys who get attacked by the WT stay in the generator as if they were some heroes and die for no reason when there's a different gen being captured for free and losing all that precious extra damage, people NEED to learn how to play as a team instead of thinking they're some hero going against the WT. Oh and everyone goes to damage the WT when its shield are down so I'm left alone doing gens, and then time runs out with no gens ready to be captured all the time because of that.
As for playing as the WT, it feels easy since I'm the whole team playing against the noob team I just described, but I feel like the teams are balanced this year as QB said, it's just that you're the whole team if you're playing the WT and the mistakes/plays you make are equivalent to the harriers ALL doing mistakes/plays, which leads to a good player having easy matches and a bad player having hard matches, but that's ok, the people who die for no reason instead of doing more generators aren't.
Guys for this game event always launch the game in safe mode only otherwise there will be problems

Lol, they can do skill based MM for an event but refuse to do it for standard play so that those trying their best can get shafted by people who don't care.

skill based MM will kill this game very fast. this event is not important, so it is fine there, but in randoms, players do need the tourist to farm. skill diversity in MM is not the problem in this game, tank balance in MM is. it is a popular thing to rant about, but it is not true and there are some smarter CC-s out there, who have figured this out, that skill is not an issue. games are fast and 15-2 because tanks are too fast, DPM is too high and view range is too good. one mistake or bad RNG and it is usually done. team that made the mistake or got the bad RNG can not recover from it most of the time, because of the things mentioned above. and the other thing is tank balance. I have had so many games, where one team has AMX50B, T57 and 113 and the other team has Maus, vz55, Sconq and 279e, for example..... it has been even 3 vs 5 HT in to tier and i have seen these extra 2 to be chief and 279e.... go figure , right:)
The first and last time i played on 2021 i went very aggressive with the auf e 100 and denied any chance of win to the enemy team

QB clearly recorded this before the Harriers nerf (or before they broke the harriers skills with a mirco patch this morning)
They just nerfed harriers and 1 time use abilities per game and lowered camo rating
Tbh, you only won bc of the hyperion. Almost everyone who has played more than once as the bte100 uses it at the last second making it an auto win ability no matter how badly you misplayed your positioning and shooting.
As far as balance, it's not. It's much easier to win as the bte100 than the harriers. You have to get lucky with the cap point placement and map and hope that the other 5 don't waste time shooting the bte100 with the shield up or try to "hold" her at one location for too long.
I didn’t even realize there was going to be sbmm in this mode, but I realized every time I played the BT my opponents were all 53-57% players and it was pissing me off so much (I’m only 53% btw) it completely ruins this mode for me and I already stopped, I’m not playing wot to sweat my ass off 10 games out of 10
