My dog Marley, 11years old, 12kg mixed breed, started act strange one day: he had difficulty sleeping, had laboured breathing especually during nights, and had increased thirst and pee. Initially i didn't think something bad, so week passed, until he one day almost collapsed and started have laboured breathing... So another week or more passed and we took him to vet. We presented him telling he had diarrhea from a lot of time, like months. He also had intestinal blockage 2 years before, and always suffered from intestinal related problems from that time so we didn't panicked earlier. Vet said bloodwork was perfect, but there was a corrugated intestine, prescribed antibiotics and a specific diet, but he started get worse, showing weakness to posteriour legs and laboured breathing. We took him to vet again and this time(one week only after) bloodwork showed anemia. Vets performed x ray to chest to see if it was an heart problem, as i initially thought, but there was no pulmonary edema. Vets then pressed me saying it was urgent to perform anastomosis surgery or my dog would've died soon. I was reluctant because they didn't even do a biopsy or a ct scan... but then fearing for his life i accepted and the next day they done it. Vet told after surgery there were unexpectedly two masses and an enlarged lymphnode he told to have removed more then 50cm of intestine and that it seemed lymphoma, and sent a sample to a lab for hystologic analysis. Vet give me back my dog after 1 day observation. He seemed stable but a little confused. He didn't ate but was very thirsty and slept a bit during the night, but was also trying to drink and pee a lot, even if he was weak and almost collapsed when walking. Next morning he pooped and also ate, seemed more stable and happier the day before. I didn't give him antibiotics prescribed cause i thought he would eat later, which unfortunately never happened. The same evening my parents said to took him to vet again, i didn't want cause he was relaxing and stable, and didn't want to risk to stress him cause anastomosis is a very riscky surgery and was scary to think maybe it would rupture. Vet told everything was good. Dad told give him something to manage pain cause sometimes he contracted abdomen. Vet did an injection, anti-spasmic(?) he said he also used for horse colitis(it confused me since day before vet said his intestine already had low motility and more motion would heal it better and faster). Got back home, he started feel sick, refused to eat and contractions augmented, I refused to give him much water cause i feared he would vomit, in fact he drunk a lot while i was distracted and vomited... The same night he got very painful and weaker, heavy breathing. We took him to emergency clinic, which had way better tech, vet here tried to get bloodwork done but my dog was in shock and blood initially won't come out. Ecography and x ray revealed a little abdominal effusion, suspect nodules in liver, and a suspect round shadow on heart. Bloodwork resulted anemia, dehydratation and initial renal damage, also an increased count of lymphocytes so an infection. After minutes i leaved, my friend unfortunately died alone and scared... Vet said was not septic, but it was "systemic failure". I specifically asked my vet for days to give him fluids, or transfusion, he always said was not necessary. What happened? Was it the injection? Was it my fault not giving him enough water or not giving him antibiotics? Was my fault to let him jump in the car and intestine ruptured? Was my vet lying? Was it just the lymphoma which developed so quickly spreading to liver and even heart? Why he didn't start chemo instead of surgery if surgery is generally futile with lymphomas? What causes intestinal lymphimas? Could it be the azotate liquid concimation i used in garden and green he used to ate? Marley was healthy and joyful, was not deperished or skinny, he ate with joy till day before surgery... I suspect my vet was not honest with me, and maybe did an expensive and risky surgery which was controindicated... I hope you vets can help me understand my errors to never let it happen again... bye.
Cinabro, I'm so sorry your beloved pet has passed away. It sounds as if there was some underlying issues your pet had that may not have shown symptoms earlier on or were missed. The only way to know for sure is have the vet do a necropsy. Unfortunately at this time it, it may no longer be possible. I don't believe the vet was trying to do anything wrong. Great info! I have a litter of 4 week old Frenchbulldogs, I dewormed them then introduced them to mush puppy food. When is it safe to bath them? I use dog wipes when dirty for now.
It's ok to give puppies a bath around 6-7 weeks of age. We recommend after bathing to keep them wrapped in warm towel for a little while and then make sure they're kept warm with a heating pad so they don't get chilled. Sheryl at Revival.
Susan, it she's has a lot allergies, I wouldn't recommend using her for breeding. She wouldn't be able to have medications needed to treat her allergy symptoms when she needs it if pregnant. I would highly recommend consulting with your vet before breeding this type of female. Sheryl at Revival.
Would you warm a pregnant dog at day 40 with Revolution puppy wormer? We did this on vet advise but ended up rushing our dog to vet next day and vet said a pup had died inutero. Could the wormer have caused this?
Nat, Dr. Greer recommends to deworm pregnant females with Safeguard starting at 3 weeks before whelping each day and 2 weeks after each day for total of 5 weeks. The only way to know for sure what the cause of death was is have a necropsy done on the deceased puppy. Unfortunately since the puppy has more than likely been disposed of, there's no way to know. Revolution canine appears to be safe to use in pregnant or lactating dogs. Use with caution in sick, underweight or debilitated dogs. Sheryl at Revival.
Hey hi there. I have a kitten and I recently found him limbing a little bit. And now he has developed a swollen limb over 5 days. Today a white liquid is coming out of it. I'm scared I don't know what to do. Is the limb fractured? Will it heal itself please reply ty.
I'm sorry Viswajith KS, we aren't able to diagnose the cause. The best thing to do is take the kitten to your vet to have it examined. Sheryl at Revival
On your Spaying comment, most shelters will spay and neuter young before adoptions. Obviously a shelter cannot insure the family that adopts will have them fixed. Deposits don't work , the man hours to make sure those surgeries happen are not feasible to shelters which are mostly volunteer run. So what's the solution? I just think we need to clarify.

My dogs won’t eat royal canine nor purina. Except one. They all turn away. What are your thoughts of Nutrisource?
ZC94601, If the food is above 20-23% or higher in protein, no lentils or flaxseed included, it should be ok. Sheryl at Revival.
@@RevivalAnimal thank you for replying! Do you if there is a difference in protein es as far as successful breeding.
No there isn't. Sheryl at Revival
