thanks for showing us this system. I don't think MDF will last that long, but you will def get a lot of use from them before you need to replace.
Great example of the space saving on the shelf

curious... would be interesting to see if one could make plaster mini-bats that sit in that frame.

Looks like a great system, but how is it a space saver storage solution if you were supposed to remove the pots as soon as possible from the wood? They are not designed for you to dry them overnight and then remove the pots the way you did? Do you have Any follow up on that after lots of use? Can one Let pots get pretty hard and then remove them and let the squares dry out vertically, and do not have warping of the squares?

Could you make out of sheet metal? I laser cut and there are endless possibilities of shapes but how would it dry on sheet metal blanks and remove?

Did you wire the pots off? I wouldn't expect there to still be a layer of clay attached if you just took them off without wiring.

Nice and I believe you can use ceramic tiles as well

You are correct! Less expensive and no warping. Just get tiles a satin glaze, so the clay will bite and hold.

@@gregp4819how do you secure them? What size do you use?

@@jujub6839 I used a speedball bat. I placed a 6x6 tile in the center and cut it out a hole with an extra "keyhole" in one corner. The keyhole was to easily remove the tile with my wooden ceramic knife/screwdriver, but you could use any bat. You may just might need a spacer depending on the thickness of the tile/bat. Good luck!

Can it be used on a wheel without pins? It looks like that’s what you’re doing. I hope so this is brillliant!!!!❤❤❤

You can drill your own holes and put bolts on your wheel. There are tutorials on how to do that.

OH NO...I just found your channel and it looks as if you haven't posted a video in a couple of years. Are you still out there? Are you still making pottery?

How did this bat system hold up? Curious as I am considering purchasing this same one.

I have the same one ( at least it looks like the same exact one - I bought it at Bailey Pottery) and I have used it for a few years. It seems to hold up well. Good luck ! 😊

How do they work for larger pieces? I would think it would be harder to reach the holes and lift with fingers without damaging pot especially if it’s really wide

Hi, could you possibly make a video on how you bisque fire your clays? I noticed that your kiln has knobs and not a pad.

Some wheels don't have the pin system. Instead, there are holes where you engage the bat system. How can I figure what bat system is the best for my wheel?

    • @knightclan4
      @knightclan4 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Get a bat that fits your wheelhead and drill the holes into your wheel.
Use stainless steel round head bolts to fit

hi! my bats are allll wobbling even though they are brand new, im using a bat buddy, and i have purchased bats from 3 different stores now. I have hand tightened my pins as firmly as i can but there is a wobble once each bat is on the wheel head. I have never had this issue in class and im getting so frustrated. any ideas?

Try to put carpet non slip pad under or attach with small dots of clay. I haven't tried it my self but just a thought

Thanks for the great video! I have a bat system as well, and I love it. It is worth the money.
I have a question about the other gadget that you can see in your video - the “gauge” that helps you to make multiple pieces of the same height and width. Where did you get that and do you like it? Thanks!

NIce idea, but the materials ain't durable enough IMO. Plus it's probably a heck of a lot cheaper just to get an mdf board then and cut it yourself.

In a video designed more for beginners you threw a pot on a wheelhead with the screws in place? Yikes. A great bad example.
