- Learn more about Marin Waldorf School's approach to media through this short film. Our experience, as a school and as a movement, is that popular culture, especially as expressed through various forms of media, overwhelms children's thinking and imagination. We make a conscious effort to quiet pop culture and media awareness in order to make room for the development of intellectual curiosity and a healthy and authentic sense of self. Waldorf education strives to awaken a children's excitement and enthusiasm for learning through a curriculum rich in academic and artistic expression.
Start slowly. No cold turkey here. Find meaningful, engaging, and creative replacements. Show compassion. Others will clearly have better suggestions. Thanks for watching.
So important to let children develop their creativity without media interference.
So much media teaches children to want, to covet and to resent.
Games especially slow down the ability to think clearly and develop independent thought
Brilliant - thank you. Thank you for sharing this important information
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this with us. It is a reminder that The Real Point is "Be Fair" let's teach our children well. I am so thankful for my Elementary School Teachers at Franklin Elementary School in Oakland Ca. We were taught to be creative . I everything. I do not recall anyone who did not enjoy those years!

This is very informative
Very well done. Thank you!
Thank you for the video. I agree with negative affect of the media, but at same time, I find it not fair if I switch TV or take away computer from my son. He had already exposed to media. Every time I tried to take a way the media, he protest, scream... and I feel like I am a dictator. Does any body know how to deal democratically with media, game addiction? Thanks for any suggestions.
