I’m sure the ax41 is a great tire in certain situations but I think the dual venture on the front works well on a broader level.
Fantastic! Yeah, the DR650 tube type tire is much lighter and wears out much quicker than the Tubeless 140 or 150 series tires. The AX41 is better on the street than the Motoz but overall the Motoz has them beat. Glad you are liking yours!!!

After 5k I'm at 4mm of tread and just flipped it around. Another 5K? We'll see. Every time I ride I ride at least 5 miles of gravel and I can honestly say they are confidence inspiring. Yes, I can attest to the fact that on the 19" fatter front rim the tire is a bit more noisy than the 90/90-21 version which for me is quiet. On my 390 running the 110/80-19 the tire is a bit louder. They work well though!
Thanks Kyle, good review as always. Still hanging with the AX41 front and rear on my KLR650 I just wish they would last longer. They are very good on canyon carving and ok on hard dirt and some gravel mix. Not great on sand. Thx

Hey Kyle. I put AX 41s on two of my bikes and they are great. Like you said though . Man , the rears wear out crazy fast . I got less than 3k before I am feeling like I need a new tire. I’m definitely sliding down the mountains more than I prefer. I am thinking about putting the Motaz Rallz or Adventure on the rear . I have a 19” front , 17” rear setup on my 701 Enduro so the bike is better on the paved super tight twisty TN &NC mountain roads and still really good on the gravel forest roads. I would like to put a dual venture front on but I don’t see anything less wide than a 110 x19” front . My 100w AX41 front is as wide as I want to go. Especially since the Motaz seem to run even wider than the AX 41s . I do have the Rallz and dual venture set up on my 890 rally but that’s a 21 “ & 18” narrow wheel set. So with all that said . Do you think there is a better front tire than the AX41 in 19” that I should try that is 90 or 100 w ? Thanks & you are the Moto Tire God !
Ha! Ha! Thanks for the kind words. The RallZ or ADV in the rear and teh AX41 up front is a fantastic combo. I have run it many times. I love the 19" / 17" set-up on my 390 Adv. Great twisty traction with amazing off road traction too. I run the 110/80-19 and the wider profile I think works well. The 90 or 100 w are very tough to find and are not made by many manufacturers. I say you stick with the AX41 up front if you want a thinner front tire.
I've ran a Shinko 804 which was ok and a TKC 80 which is pretty terrible. I am waiting on a Dual Venture which should be perfect! I'm a huge fan of the tractionator adventure rear tire. Motoz or Nothing!! Thanks for the video Kyle 👊
Hey, sorry, do you remember which video you explained tubed tires vs tubeless? I'm looking to get myself into some heavy duty rims, and know nothing of tubed tires.
The Anakee Wild is a great tire. It wears out much quicker than many and the tread depth is nearly half of the Motoz so mud, grass, etc is a little more challenging. All around great tire though.
Thanks for the reviews, based my Motoz purchase on your videos as I live and ride where you are, that said I just installed the Dual Venture front with the Adventure rear on my T7 and was surprised at the road manners. I found it more than a bit unnerving at how much the tire did not want to turn, it would lean and if you stayed upright it would turn, but to to turn and lean a bit it felt like the stabilizer had been maxed out. I kept checking to make sure the stabilized had been backed off completely, I imagine this would inspire confidence in the dirt and sand, and I am sure I will get used to it, but man it is a fight to deal with low to mid speed corners. Is this how the front should feel? I have never experienced a feel like this before. I had 3500 miles on the stock tires and I have installed the rally Raid open front and adventure rear shock. Thanks
Thank you for your comment. I have not noticed or felt what you are experiencing. I have run the same tires on a T7 without that situation. I am curious to hear what you think after a few hundred more miles.
Hi Kyle, just put a Motoz dual adv front & adventure rear what pressures would you recommend for road & off road. Really appreciate the content. Thanks
Thanks for your support. I run 30ish if jumping between dirt and street. If fully loaded or running the highway all day at speed I’ll run full pressures… 38 to 40psi. If in the gnaw and I need help I’ll drop down into the 20’s.
I ran rallz on my '18 klr, love them.. 4000 on front, 6500 on rear (still great!).. Now I have a TL Dv, and putting a adv TL on rear.. Agreed, rallz unbeatable in dirt but hope I like the new setup..DV in dirt is sorta like the rallz on tarmac 😬
how does the DV + Rallz/Adventure do on the road compared to the AX41? A lot worse? I like the road manners f the AX41 in the twisties, but want to try something different on my 1290 SA
definitely more work but at this point it might just be a need, thanks for doing front and rear dedicated reviews! Now your personal choice and opinion, pros and con between the ax41 and dual venture font and which youd go for?
Yes, a lot more work! People used to run only matched sets and manufacturers made sure that retailers advised that was the only way to go. I have been mixing tires since the early 2000's like the Dunlop 908rr paired with the Pirelli MT21 in the front. It is becoming more and more accepted in our Adv space. Ok... AX41 vs Dual Venture. The AX41 will go about 4k miles... the Dual Venture if not flipped will do about the same. The Dual Venture is deeper and better suited for deep mud or sand. On the street (particularly the twisites) the AX41 is a much better tire. I think it is due to the shallower tread depth and softer sidewall. The Dual Venture is great on the street but the AX41 is better. I run both. I have the AX41 on the front of both of my 390's at the moment and the Dual Venture on the 1190 and the RallZ on the 950. These are my favorite fronts, that is for sure.
Hey Kyle You're my favorite TH-camr ever. After you have ridden so many adventure bikes, what's your insights on the tuareg especially compared to the 7/890 and Tenere ?
Thanks for your kind words. The Tuareg is fantastic. The issue is dealer support. Several friends have had their bikes down for nearly a year without an ETA on parts. The bike is a step above the T7 in many ways. The T7 is solid and simple. The 890 and the Desert X are “the middleweight bikes, but they are expensive to purchase and to maintain. All that said, I’d own the Tuareg as a 2nd bike and if I could only have one… the T7 would be it.
@@manybikes you are such a kind person man I really dig that in you :) you summarized it so wizely👌 I sold an 890 and 1250 gs and ended up with a husky Norden. Pretty happy with it . It sad though to hear about the support around the tuareg! I guess that's pretty important too...
That’s some crazy mileage on a set of RallZ. Nice work. My Yoshimura muffler drowns any noise out when it comes to the Motoz… except the Desert HT… it’s Loud!!!
I've a Africa twin with ax41 tyres. 3500 miles and the front is needing to be replaced, rear still looks new! The front is ok on road, but a bit twitchy on gravel roads, but it is very worn! I wonder if I should get another ax41 and try it from new, or conti tkc 70? I do the odd gravel track and byroad, nothing crazy, but want a great tyre on road and one that'll get me out of trouble off road! I've heared lots of great things about the tkc 70 rocks for on road and off road! Which front tyre should I put on a heavy adventure bike?
The TKC70 Rocks is a REAR tire Only. Meant to be paired with a 70 or 80 front. The AX41 or the Dunlop TrailMax Mission is what I would pair with an TKC70 Rocks Rear tire. In your case, I would run the AX41 Front again or the Motoz Dual Venture. You can flip that one and get tons of mileage out of it!
@@manybikes I do like the ax41, it's nearly shot, yet still gives amazing grip on tarmac! I bought the bike with 2900 miles and the front was a little Skippy on gravel! I dare say a new tyre would sort that issue! Both my tyres have adventuretour ax41r on the sidewall! The tread pattern is different from the tyres I see when I Google them!? That said, both the tyres you recommend are supposed to be very good on road and very good on gravel tracks! Which is what I'm looking for! Thank you for the help!!
Thank you for all the work you put into these videos Kyle! I just picked up a 23 tiger 900 rally pro and am looking for a decent tire upgrade that can rail corners no problem, do wet roads and do offroad with confidence in the PNW and minimal road noise. Can the ax41 or rallz combo do that on road? I dont even know if all this is possible? haha, what do you recommend.

Hey Kyle, love your tire reviews; very helpful when shopping for tires. One quick question for you; in your opinion, which Tractionator performs best in mud; the Rallz or Adventure?? Thanks for your input and I look forward to your next video.
Great video. I met you at a Rally and had a great time talking to you. My tire question. I just completed the Idaho bdr on rally Z tires. I ride a 1250gsa. I have been getting tired of riding on knobbies. My front tire is wearing and shark skinning. Is it better to replace a front with less knobby tire(50/50 like motoz GPS) for better road manners and keeping the still good knobby in back ( I will only be day riding for now) or should I replace both with 50/50 tires. You told me that the trend is aggressive in front and mellower in back? I hope you reply. Thanks
Thanks for reaching out. In your all street application I’d run the GPS front and rear. They look great, will roll smooth and will get you 10k+ miles. When you are ready, I can have them in stock. Www.Manybikes.biz
Rallz are great sir....and agree on the hwy...they need about 300 miles to "settle in"....the Adventure are solid and last longer...about 5/6k vs Rallz at 4/5k
None of these come in a 17 inch front. What do you recommend that's similar but comes in a 17"? Why are us early CB500X, Versys etc. folks left out of practically the entire segment of 50/50+ tubeless tires? We used to at least have the TKC80, but after the recall fiasco, it seems like it is now off the market. Guys like me with a Rally Raid level 1 - 17" setup still want to go hard off-road but have zero block pattern options to few other options outside 80/20 stuff. Hey manufacturers, I'm not just riding to the coffee shop! What about me? Give us some 120/70-17 love! One more size! We are here, and we are waiting.
That is a great question. They do not publish mixture ratios. But the verbiage for the Dual Venture and the Adventure is identical: Optimised hybrid natural/synthetic compound produces dependable grip in all weather extremes. The RallZ description is: Hybrid compound with Silica for optimum grip in mud and snow.
Got dual venture on africa twin, it shakes a lot on all groves on concrete surface, asphalt is fine. The only time it works fine riding over groves is when my bike is loaded like a donkey.
Hey Kyle what how do you think the new Dunlop Trailmax Raids look? I just picked up a tuareg that came with Motoz Rallz, they are surprisingly good on the road and in the rain but on the Highway/rain grooves they are torturesly loud and vibey. Also the front doesnt have a good bead seal which seems common aftet some googling
Good morning and Happy 4th of July. I haven’t seen the new Raid in person as of yet. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a set soon. The Motoz tires are great, specifically the RallZ rear tire. The Dual Venture is a better road mannered front tire. The bead leak down was a situation for a bit but has been corrected.
@@manybikes update - so far they are quiet -feel like they handle pavement as aggressively as I'm ever going to ride on public roads -very limited dirt/gravel/mud experience yet but they meet expectations so far. Might just be the unicorn tire
Hi Kyle, thanks for the awesome reviews. Quick question, I'm running the AX41 front and back on my 2018 Honda ATAS and just recently starting riding it for a long commute to work daily. That AX41 in the rear burned through pretty quickly, like less than 4k miles. I'd like to still have a solid off road tire for weekends, but I want something dependable on road during the week for my commute. What would you recommend? I still have plenty of tread on my front AX41 left. Thanks much, in advance!
Thanks for reaching out. I’d recommend the Motoz Adventure in the rear and the AX41 up front. Here it is on an ATAS: 10 Minute Rabaconda Motoz Tractionator Adventure Tire Installation | Dual Venture @manybikes th-cam.com/video/RknKPPu-CCY/w-d-xo.html
@@manybikes thanks for the reply, the factory tkc80 is getting pretty thin, getting ready to order a new tire going to give the DV a try . I’ve loved the motoz adv rear and trail max mission on the front of my Africa twin
Just curious of your opinion on witch motoz front tire I should run on my wr250r I currently run thr enduro it on the rear and I like to ride forest roads an fire trails.. the terrain here in north idaho can change from loose gravel to big rocks and hard dirt all on one road
Installed Rallz rr and Dual Venture ft and got 10k before installing another set before a 1500 mile ride on my Tenere 700. I figure I could have gotten 12k before they need to be totally replace. Great combo imo
Hey I'm thinking of buying my first adv tires for my 390 adv, do you think ax41 front and motoz adventure rear makes sense? I'm not sure if the adventures will have more grip than the ax41s in the dirt and cause me to wash out.
4k miles in on the AX41’s on my 390 Adv I too am ready for a new rear. The Motoz Adv will be my choice in the 130 Tubeless version, which does have more traction and will lat longer than the AX41. My front AX41 is barely 1/2 worn. I’ve got the rear if you’d like to purchase it from me.
Tryed the Motoz Dual venture front and the GPS rear on my GS . On Gravel roads found the GPS to be slippery . Looking for better traction in the rear is adventure a step up or is Rallz a better choice?
@@PeterR0035 which make sense, 701 is very light bike and this is tire designed for adv bikes ; its probably too light to deform it even with low pressure
Good video. How does tire life compare between the Dual Venture and the Rallz front? I have 2000 miles on my set of Rallz on my 701 Enduro and they are holding up great, especially the front.
The Dual Venture is reversible. On my 1190 I reversed it every 1500 miles (or when it began to show wear) and got over 9k miles out of it! Then… did the same on the Tube Type version… nuts! It requires the flip or it will get same mileage as the RallZ front
The RallZ is a noticeably better dirt tire, say deep sand or mud. The blocks are much more offset and they are not "in-line" like the lugs on the Dual Venture. Tread depth is the same on both... the DV is WAY BETTER on road at speed as compared to the RallZ. I am on DV number 5... Two Tubeless 90/90-21 one tube type 90/90-21 and a Tubeless 110/80-19 and I just mounted another tubeless 21". All have been great on my KTM 1190 Adv, KTM 390 Adv and Yamaha T7. Zero issues like I experienced with the RallZ.
Hello Kyle. I am looking to get a Motoz Tractionator Adventure as my all around off road/on road set for my 1250 GSA, but now I wonder if it would be a good idea to use Dualventure on the front as I heard some negative things about Adventure front. What would you do? Please help?
Yes Sir! Dual Venture in the front and Adventure in the back is a perfect combo. The Adventure front will eventually go away completely. When you are ready I can supply you with them. Thanks. For watching!
@@manybikesthank you so much for quick response. Dualventure front, adventure rear will be my choice, thanks to you sir. Thankyou. I would love to buy it through you, but I'm based in Poland now and the income tax would be a killer.😊
Hey Kyle, does the Dual Venture also have (more) silica mixed in to it like the RallZ, or is it just an improved Tractionator Adventure? I had the RallZ on my DR650. Great tire. Not above said 70mph... jesus christ *tank slap flashbacks* I now have a KLX250 and I rather have an improved RallZ, BUT, would also like the long lasting tire. Is the Dual venture longer lasting than the RallZ, but better in the wet than a Tractionator? Cheers!
The Dual Venture is a little of both. Longer lasting more stable tire than the RallZ front. More aggressive but just as smooth rolling as the Adventure front. Flip it as soon as it shows wear and it’ll wear evenly and will be like new the entire time it’s being run. I’ve been getting 7k to 10k from these fronts. It has been good for me In the wet too.
The Dual Venture is a step above the RallZ for overall useage... off road the RallZ is a better tire, but it wears out quickly. The Dual Venture will be the #1 Motoz selection for front tires in 2024. It does so good...
Are we talking noticeable difference? The area around me mainly consists of sand trails and some packed forest ground, nothing serious like boulders or elevations. I really didn't like the wobble on the RallZ, although the KLX will never reach that speed limit. I do prefer a bit more lifespan on tires as they are fairly expensive. But if the DualVenture is noticable worse offroad, than I don't have a different option I think. No idea how Dunlops feels like. Never had one
sounds like adventure for the back and dual venture for me. I would prefer a good off road tire that does bit better on road than rallz. don't care about the miles much. I don't ride much.
In my experience RallZ front is the better version of D606 but unfortunately as the original it doesn't lasts: concrete slab will eat it alive in no time. AX41 doesn't loose much to RallZ on dirt, much better on pavement and lasts longer. As for Dual Venture IMHO it got nothing on K60 Ranger which can last 12-14k(!) if you take it down to wear bars. Plus Ranger is far better tire on pavement and more stable on loose surfaces. If you pair it with K60 Scout or Mitas E-07 Dakar it will last round trip to Alaska which DV definitely won't.
Very interesting findings. I was down to the wearbars of the K60 Ranger at 6k miles. Flipping a Dual Venture every 1500 miles or so I got almost 12k! Not a fan of the ranger at all on loose stuff, but I really like it on the highway. The AX41 is a better all around road tire in my opinion. It just wears quick for me. The rallZ is a better deep dirt, mud and sand tire from what I’ve experienced.
@manybikes the difference perhaps in 19" vs 21"? I wouldn't be flipping any tire riding 400-500mi a day. As for Ranger being more road-ficusted, yes, it is. On pavement I would compare it to Michelin Roads. As for loose stuff it does fine on marbles, very stable, and riding ruts doesn't try to grab on sides but yeah it loses to TKC80 in deep sand. Not that TKC80 is good in it anyways
DV is POS you need to try K60 Ranger to realize it. DV can't even last as much as TKC80 you only get about 75% as many miles and it doesn't perform any better.
Not what I have experienced. The K60 Ranger on the 90/90-21 was super skectcht in the loose dirt. The front end just wanted to wash away at any time. The Ranger is better and smoother on the highway... but in the dirt the DV is WAY better in my opinion. I have gotten 7k, 9k and 12K from the DV tire. And just over 6k out of the Ranger. My 2 cents...
@@miclinda256 - My friend rides a T7 and took the RallZ off the front within 100 miles, he hated them as much as I do. Replaced it with the Dual Venture and the bike handles normal again..

Here it is!
th-cam.com/video/qwHDZHufy6A/w-d-xo.html
What happened to the Anakee Wilds? They were one of your favourites a while ago.
Would you say the ax41 front lies inbetween the rallz and dual venture in off road performance? How close is it to the rallz in sandy situations?
In the sand the AX41 is a hair less in performance. The new Mitas XT+ is the jam! Give it a try.
Did you put TT or TL version of DV for this Aprilia? They seem to differ quite much.
Tubeless! This bike had tubeless wheels. Full installation coming soon.

I hope you like it too!!!
how does the DV + Rallz/Adventure do on the road compared to the AX41? A lot worse? I like the road manners f the AX41 in the twisties, but want to try something different on my 1290 SA
The AX41 up front is a favorite of mine! There is no Motoz that is similar.
www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels/motoz-tires?
definitely more work but at this point it might just be a need, thanks for doing front and rear dedicated reviews!
Hey Kyle
You're my favorite TH-camr ever.
@@manybikes you are such a kind person man I really dig that in you :) you summarized it so wizely👌
I sold an 890 and 1250 gs and ended up with a husky Norden. Pretty happy with it . It sad though to hear about the support around the tuareg! I guess that's pretty important too...
I love the Norden! Nice pick... Sexy, powerful and capable.
I have 4,000 mi on a set of RallZ tires. I love them altho they are a bit noisy on the freeway. KTM 890 ADV-R. I expect another 3 or 4,000 mi.
Great video. I met you at a Rally and had a great time talking to you. My tire question. I just completed the Idaho bdr on rally Z tires. I ride a 1250gsa. I have been getting tired of riding on knobbies. My front tire is wearing and shark skinning. Is it better to replace a front with less knobby tire(50/50 like motoz GPS) for better road manners and keeping the still good knobby in back ( I will only be day riding for now) or should I replace both with 50/50 tires. You told me that the trend is aggressive in front and mellower in back? I hope you reply. Thanks

Rallz are great sir....and agree on the hwy...they need about 300 miles to "settle in"....the Adventure are solid and last longer...about 5/6k vs Rallz at 4/5k
Thanks for watching. Those are my exact findings too!
Yeah, 17 fronts are rough to find. I ran into the same issue on my Duke I turned Adventurous… Avon makes a 17” and I think Pirelli. I’ll research
Hey, is the silicone mixture in the dual venture tire like the rallz or is it more like the adventure. Thanx

The GPS really needs to be aired down off road so center strip sucks up and the side lugs bite. The RallZ is my #1 tire for the rear. It’s great!!!
Tried airing down the GPS on the rear but it made no noticeable difference, because the tire is so stiff and rugged. Mounted on a Husqvarna LR 701
@@PeterR0035 interesting… the lack of difference even when aired down. The RallZ in the rear is amazing!

@@manybikes Thanks for the reply! So are there any downsides to the Dual Venture compared to the Rallz?

Hey Kyle, does the Dual Venture also have (more) silica mixed in to it like the RallZ, or is it just an improved Tractionator Adventure?
I had the RallZ on my DR650. Great tire. Not above said 70mph... jesus christ *tank slap flashbacks*
I now have a KLX250 and I rather have an improved RallZ, BUT, would also like the long lasting tire.
@@manybikes Great to hear! I'll be sure to change the front to a Dual Venture, instead of a RallZ.

Yes, tire size might play a role here... Love the conversation! Thanks for your support.
@manybikes from what I hear in 19" DV front is a 6k tire.
It really depends on the diligence in the flip and tire pressures.

Dual Venture....all day long
For sure!
RallZ front should be illegal on pavement, squirrelly and loud as hell!
Works great in the dirt and will "get you to the trail" but high speed travel on pavement is not recommended.
