Honestly, Maddy is doing some seriously important work with this show. Basically giving queer people an opportunity to tell their entire stories. It humanizes queer people in a way that’s so important when we’re still fighting to be treated equally. Trans people especially.
YES. And she was so personal and genuine when I poured my heart out, before she won, All-Star six, which I was rooting for her all the way because I knew she was a superstore and I knew she was gonna fucking win it. Kylie, has been one of the best celebrity experiences in my life, I should have that I haven’t had any bad experience with celebrities, but she was the best one because I don’t know how to explain it, but I could feel her heart when I spilled my guts to her and she appreciated it so much. She is such a human. I love her. I love this episode. I love drag.
while transitioning isnt linear, and one person does not speak for all trans people, hearing what kylie has been through to get where she is today is helping me cope with a lot of the confusion ive been facing in my life as of recent. thank you kylie and thank you maddy for giving kylie such a safe space to speak her truth. kylie is one of the most down to earth people EVERRR
I thought it was sweet of Maddy to mention that she didn't do the old photos out of respect, but also was nice to hear Kylie explain why (for her at least) it would have been okay.
Maddy is straight up one of the fiercest “public figure” allies to our community that I’ve ever seen. She basically gives queer voices of all sorts a full hour to just share their stories and have a good, supportive and fun time. Kudos, Maddy, and thank you. 🙏🏻💙
A friend of mine wanted to transition but was living with strict orthodox russian parents so she was actually scared for her life. So she had no possibility of cross dressing for these 2 years. Thats why my family helped her order estrogen from spain and we got it delivered to our flat so that her parents wouldn"t know. As a law in my country you had to be taken care of a doctor once you take the estrogen so we basically skipped this 2 year period as Kylie did. Im so proud of her for taking these steps and now 9 years later she is happier than ever.
I don't think people realize how different the entire culture was when drag race started. Even within the lgbtq community, drag was not that popular and it certainly wasn't well respected. And then, a lot of queens were doing gigs just for tips and drink tickets, being paid even $50 for a night was lucky to have. With transitioning, it was basically taboo to not fit either end of the binary, so there was a massive pressure that if you said you were trans out loud, you were supposed to be "unclockable". We look back at old seasons and say it's antiquated, but that's what progress means. Drag Race then was ahead of its time, but with that said, obviously when we looked backwards some things will look....backwards. That's the point of moving forward.
Love this interview. Amazing, as always. What I truly love is that we are seeing icons come on now who are fully aware of Maddy's show, her vibe, and knowing the show is about them as an entire person, and not just a performer. They look forward to what dirt she can bring up, the parting gifts, the quick-witted shade. I've been binging Maddy content lately, not just GITMS, but her appearances on other channels and podcasts, and it is so abundantly clear how she is viewed in such high regard by her fellow queens. I hope she sees that. It's very clear to the rest of us.
10:25 Especially crazy, considering that Maddy was straight up on a season where Kerri Colbi spelled majority of the cast into trans women at the snap of her fingers (the only one safe were the girls who already were women and the straight guy).
I cannot fathom the strength of this beautiful individual who went through so much abuse and yet did not become cynical but on the contrary radiates love and kindness ❤ Especially the part about standing up against bullying touched me.
This woman’s life is a netflix/ HBO Max docuseries waiting to happen. She has truly one of the most if not the most beautiful soul to come from all the drag race franchises. She deserves everything and more.
shit it's making me so emotional, to be in early transition and to hear her story, my god. litteraly thank you for your service ma'am. like, an actual Icon, a legend
I loved Kylie during the AS6 reading challenge. Jan said to her: "There could be a hundred people in a room, and 99 have no idea who you are." And Kylie says: "I bet you won't fucking forget me after this." 😂 So good! And accurate!
omggg im so in love with kylie sonique love, shes gotta be one of the most charming winners of all stars, so down to earth and dtf. also maddy, we see you miss girl. a straight guy who is so connected to the community that he can actually understand the crazy realities of transphobia or homophobia and empathize with the hurt. its impressive , true soul.
"It was a marathon, not a race" as someone who is transitioning at the moment, this was so beautiful to hear, the whole segment made me so emotional because I've never felt so seen with her statements, I'm on hrt rn, but still not living as a woman, I've been on this journey for around 9 years now, and just now I've started hrt, it felt right, I'm 27, since I was 18 I started to build my connnections with queer people and lived as a girl in my socials, now I'm on the "beginning" again and it feels crazy, because in your mind you already know who you are but outside in your appearance you don't see that... But again, thanks for sharing your experiences and speaking about it so raw, cuz I've felt so seen haha
Such a fantastic interview! As a girl who is new to transition, I love hearing other trans women who transitioned long ago and their experiences. From one Kylee to another Kylie. 💋🏳️⚧️💕
Whole interview teleported me in my deep places in soul even tho I am not trans person. However we all are humans and living our adventure, exploring our destination. I remember in 2021 how free I felt when Kylie won AS6. A crown well deserved, and now I am feeling relief hearing her story❤
this is another amazing episode. maddy knows her power and wills these meaningful conversations so well. kylie is amazing with her insights on transitioning and her acknowledging her past self and showing him love and appreciation. such a good episode
Initially, I wasn't on board with Kylie winning AS6, because I was a Rajah stan. But after rewatching it and as time went on, I am totally on board with her winning. It's a better Rudemption story, and she's so deserving. 🥰
If I could graph my gayness, it would have quite a few highs and lows. However, the highest point - so far - is when I ugly cried during her crowning of AS6. That trip/stumble into a gymnastics move was my Super Bowl moment. There is just something about her!
I'll never forget what Kylie said on AS6: "On season 2, I believed in my talent and potential. But I knew that was not my moment." And that's so true when you watch season 2. It's obvious that it's not her moment because she's given hardly any screen time.
On a real note, this sponser is something that i really think is important. Its really informative to see the biases in a news station and keep up to date on stuff that the left wing may be missing out on knowing avout
I cannot with Maddy sticking out the tongue after saying crazy kooky lol Love this episode more of these great interviews please! P.S. Sonique is amazingggg!
Sonique is a natural born star. Her story is very inspirational for anyone going through a rough time in life or feeling lost in life. She has inspired me, and I admired that confident, beautiful woman she has become. I wish Sonique a long, wonderful life on this Wonderful Earth 🌎 ❤️ ✨️
What a sweetheart she is, I always knew she was beautiful, but I couldn't really tell what she was like from Drag Race & All Stars, but this interview really shined a light on her, I'm so impressed with her journey (we share some similarities with family life BS) & how she has taken her life by the reins & really set after her dreams! What a great interview.❤️
This was hands down one of the best episodes to date. Kylie Sonique Love is such a well rounded, lovely inspirational person and I wish her all the best. I already loved her from the show, but this interview gave me a chance to fall in love with her again in a brand new way so props to ya mama
My fav queen. It’s crazy how much I relate to her. I’ve been lucky to have met her at dragcon. Yes, I agree about crying but I think it puffs up your skin and it’s cleansing too. I think that release is good for your skin as opposed to holding it in. She’s so amazing. Love ❤
I can listen to Kylie talk all day. I've heard her say many times that it's hard to watch season two, and I think that's true for many people but she stood out to me as a captivating dancer and performer, and I expected her career to soar after the show, which it probably did. She was so so good! I didn’t watch RuPaul's Drag Race when it started, but I later loved catching up on old episodes. I was happy to see her return. All Stars was her moment! She’s a fantastic entertainer with a beautiful spirit. I bet she was wild back in the day.

Hey Maddy,
Thank you for being such a strong ally!!!! Your shade is as magnificent as your research!!!
🤩
Why am I mad that Maddy didn't put on a funny outfit for the advertisement 😔 that's one of my favorite parts 😢. But great interview nonetheless 😊

I love how Maddy does exactly what you wrote!! But also shades so so hard lol
I agree, and at the same time, Maddy does research on the people she brings over. She's a great host.
Yes
The way Kylie leans closer to the mic to read Maddy in the opening. ICONIC! Maddy could never.
That’s why she’s Mother
Cuz being white is a read today
Maddie could lean forward into a microphone if she wanted to. In fact, most human beings can.

I love Kylie just bulldozing through the shade as if it's the hundredth time she's heard it. lmao
i was wondering if she didnt get the shades or just didnt react
How does Kylie makeup look soo good under every light there is?
when u reach levels of mothering she has no light can diminish that MUG
