We went to Dusit Thani Maldives with our twins on 2018,spent rs. 200000 for 4 nights..... When we went to restaurants, we could feel the local waiters were treating us less than foreigners. When we were trying to sit in a good spot, some waiters ran to us to tell very casually that we can't sit here. Upon asking they said, it is reserved for other guests.... For straight 2 nights we observed the same snd found out those sits went to white skinned tourists ( reservation story was bullshit)... Next night we didn't bother to think and sat on our preferred place.... Again one idiot came running, trying to softly insult. We said call your manager, explain why can't we sit here. No one came this time..... So racism due to skin color, religion was in the local's vains.... It just coming out more visibly during present government....

I remember before 2014 I think in Aap ki Adalat, Rajat Sharma show, Modiji was asked about international pressure. It was in relation to Pakistan and 26/11. The question was something along the lines that we can't just do things, there's international pressure. But Modiji's answer really impressed me. Dear Palki Ma'am, here's a story told about Minicoy, the southmost of the Lakshadweep islands which is worth repeating. Ethnically and culturally its residents are closer to Maldivians. Centuries ago, it was part of the Maldives. Then a cyclone struck the isle killing many people and destroying their property. A few survivors sailed to their ruler-the sultan of Maldives seeking funds. But the sultan refused. The survivors then sailed to the Maharaja of Malabar and sought his help. He agreed but said they must change their political alliance and become his subjects. The supplicants agreed and went home with money and a new flag. Thus Minicoy become part of maharaja's realm and was recognized as a part of India. Geographically it is rather south of other islands of Lakshadweep, and its strategic importance cannot be overstated. It's location has ensured an additional 200 kilometers exclusive economic zone to India in all directions.

They made India do agriculture and then take it away. causing a massive famine every week. 2: Plundering of India's natural resources The British forced Indians to mine all the natural minerals in their country and carry them to the ports to be shipped back to England every day. extremely dangerous jobs, and these poor Indians weren't fed, and hundreds of millions succumbed to the exhaustion. The whole of India was ruled by only a handful of Britishers. Why India chose to never fight back baffles many to this day. Maybe India is just obedient by nature.
As an expert on Indians behavior and nesting habits, Indians have a pattern of not ever resisting the invaders; rather, the invaders departed themselves after a while, like the British and many others, when there were no more resources to exploit, leaving behind a population of a billion Indians struggling with poverty and lacking in education, a situation no one wished to address.

I went to Mauritius with my husband. Trust me its all hype. Only if you book some exotic resort it may be good (which is true to any location) or it is just like my hometown (coastal Karnataka). Later we realized we spent bomb, instead should have explored our home town or broader India and this was 12 years back. I have not been to Maldives yet nor will visit and it is overly promoted and they survive on tourism. Indians are one of the top groups who visit such places as well spend a lot, they just want Indians to spend money though they don't respect Indians like they do to whites.. Celebrities should stop promoting Maldives just because they get free trips.. I have only seen lakshadweep through youtube/ social media influencers. Such a beautiful & prestine island everyone should visit atleast once. But one fact which is very much concerning is that resorts/ homestays are very less & even an Indian citizen who is not a native to this island needs permit from lakshadweep admin for visiting this Island. So let this be an eye-opener by which we should promote beach tourism not only in this island but also in all other beaches along the coastline (can try for BLUE FLAG CERTIFICATION), be a responsible citizen & not loiter waste materials, and at the same time do whatever it takes to preserve the prestine ecosystem/ corals/ flora & fauna existing near these areas.

I remember before 2014 I think in Aap ki Adalat, Rajat Sharma show, Modiji was asked about international pressure. It was in relation to Pakistan and 26/11. The question was something along the lines that we can't just do things, there's international pressure.

Dear Palki Ma'am, here's a story told about Minicoy, the southmost of the Lakshadweep islands which is worth repeating. Ethnically and culturally its residents are closer to Maldivians. Centuries ago, it was part of the Maldives. Then a cyclone struck the isle killing many people and destroying their property. A few survivors sailed to their ruler-the sultan of Maldives seeking funds. But the sultan refused. The survivors then sailed to the Maharaja of Malabar and sought his help. He agreed but said they must change their political alliance and become his subjects. The supplicants agreed and went home with money and a new flag. Thus Minicoy become part of maharaja's realm and was recognized as a part of India. Geographically it is rather south of other islands of Lakshadweep, and its strategic importance cannot be overstated. It's location has ensured an additional 200 kilometers exclusive economic zone to India in all directions.

For those who havent read the Indian government's Commission's report on how 1.8 billion Indians were unalived by the British Here is a short summary.
First, it was done over a very long period of 200+ years. Not all in one go. And it was the British policies and laws implemented that killed 1.8 billion Indians, not that they were executed.
The two main policies that wiped out 1.8 billion Indians are:
1: Allocation of food: Since the British were at war all the time, they didn't have people to do the farming. They made India do agriculture and then take it away. causing a massive famine every week.
2: Plundering of India's natural resources The British forced Indians to mine all the natural minerals in their country and carry them to the ports to be shipped back to England every day. extremely dangerous jobs, and these poor Indians weren't fed, and hundreds of millions succumbed to the exhaustion.
The whole of India was ruled by only a handful of Britishers. Why India chose to never fight back baffles many to this day. Maybe India is just obedient by nature.
India holds the largest surrender record in world history with a billion of them surrendering to 300 British sailors for 211 years.
As an expert on Indians behavior and nesting habits, Indians have a pattern of not ever resisting the invaders; rather, the invaders departed themselves after a while, like the British and many others, when there were no more resources to exploit, leaving behind a population of a billion Indians struggling with poverty and lacking in education, a situation no one wished to address.

I went to Mauritius with my husband. Trust me its all hype. Only if you book some exotic resort it may be good (which is true to any location) or it is just like my hometown (coastal Karnataka). Later we realized we spent bomb, instead should have explored our home town or broader India and this was 12 years back. I have not been to Maldives yet nor will visit and it is overly promoted and they survive on tourism. It's sad to see that we live in a world today where these entitled (RICH) politicians get to say crass things on social media and make things difficult for people whose survival is absolutely dependent on tourism. Just because these 3 idiots couldn't handle their rage, thousands of people in Maldives are going to get impacted. AS POLITICIANS, THEY MUST KNOW HOW TO ACT DIMPLOMATICALLY RATHER THAN GETTING CARRIED AWAY BY EMOTIONS. And good job fellow Indians for showing unity :)
You are just seeing this one event. You really need to research more on the India Out manifesto of the current Maldives govt. That hopefully will make it clear for you that its not just 3 ministers.. but a mindset amongst a much larger group of people including the common people

So indians should actually completely get out. No one had heard of this island until indians started going there. They are out of way for Western tourist and too small, nothing to do there unlike in other tourist spots that West prefers.
I have only seen lakshadweep through youtube/ social media influencers. Such a beautiful & prestine island everyone should visit atleast once. But one fact which is very much concerning is that resorts/ homestays are very less & even an Indian citizen who is not a native to this island needs permit from lakshadweep admin for visiting this Island.
So let this be an eye-opener by which we should promote beach tourism not only in this island but also in all other beaches along the coastline (can try for BLUE FLAG CERTIFICATION), be a responsible citizen & not loiter waste materials, and at the same time do whatever it takes to preserve the prestine ecosystem/ corals/ flora & fauna existing near these areas.
I had preferred Maldives for Honeymoon/1st Marriage Anniversary ! And now I say why we need to go to Maldives when places like Lakshadweep Islands, Goa, North-Eastern States, Andaman and Nicobar Islands etc is available in our Desh !
