Hi, great channel! I wonder if you have a tip for the following problem with my R60/5. Drive shaft filler bolt does not come off while turning round and round... Thanks a lot in advance.

Thats a lot of fork oil . i have used a a syringe in the past to fill the forks as it seems the easiest method to get the amount right & measuring jug

can you replace the fork's lower drain bolt at the point that you removed the fork legs? , mine broke while tightening it. cheers.

Usually the gear clamps are turned to the rear of the for not the front

I noticed that when I was editing and switched them around. Honest mistake

Great video! Two questions about the procedure. Why not just seat the new seal into the lowers and then just slide them on? (2) Could you fill the lowers with fresh fork oil before you put them onto the upper tubes, instead of adding the oil later from above?

if you don't have a fancy fork seal driver yes you can just put them into the fork leg off the bike. also you have the put the oil in thru the top because the "drain" on the bottom of the fork also holds the fork legs onto the fork tubes

@@TheBMWGuy Thanks. Didn't realize the drain also connects the leg to the tube. I've got a 1974 R60/6 - great bike - 160k miles.

If you have any questions about the BMW R60/6 engine, please learn German (sorry - a bad joke, I know...) and visit our old school lessions from the homeland of Bayrische Motorenwerke. th-cam.com/play/PLsG3Iblabr3LskftyncfHMPmD-n1azDI3.html
