Your Grandma is such a sweetheart! Lovely to see the children actively participate in meal preparation and take an interest in cooking. I'm impressed that little Aiko already has a good palate and enjoys kamaboko. Soba is truly an ideal summer dish, especially for potlucks. ☀️ We've been experiencing triple digit temperatures in our area, so thank you for this timely episode...I'm all in favor for a cooling and fresh meal option that utilizes ingredients already in my fridge/pantry. Have a good weekend! ✨🌺✨
You guys have such an awesome family. I like the way everyone is so supportive of one another and everyone pitches in to help cook and teach the younger generation. I love when Laurie gives feedback on the dishes. Her descriptions are so detailed and she really takes her time to give us a good idea of the different flavors of the dish.
Thank you, kakelinga! It's super great having my nieces and nephews help out when they can. Hopefully they'll remember these special times. And yes. Laurie is super descriptive!
I am definitely going to try these recipes! When recipes comes from grandma’s stash, you treasure those recipes and know it will be good! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Gail
This is your classmate Verna. I am going to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing your your generational recipe. You look great. I'm not really a cook but love to bake breads and cookies. Aloha Verna Eugenio

Hi Ame! Thank you so much for your continued support with my channel! Appreciate your comments, always!
I can’t wait to make these dishes. It’s so nice to see you all cooking together. Great memory making!
Nice recovery on your balance Mari! 🤙🏽😄
Oh looks so refreshing and a healthy dish for summer! Grandma is so cute. 😊
Thank you, Food Fiend! Noodles are perfect for summer. I'll show grandma this comment as well!
Great job on making the soba and somen salad. The food looks great. And having the family help makes it even better!!
Always loved somen salad and the soba salad looks ono, I will give it a go, thanks for the awesome videos!
Another awesome video. Thank you for sharing! Two shakas up! I love that four generations are working together and sharing the experience.
Thanks Miles! Yes, it's nice to have the whole family working together. Gets a bit loud, but it's nice.
Looks delish Cari san. I should make this for tomorrow's family BBQ. If I may say this, if you add just a little bit of oil, preferably olive oil, noodles will not stick together. Just a little tip.
I have been thinking of you and missed your videosl Imagine, you're super busy with the new baby or toddler.. I always look forward to all your local recipes.
Great meals for summer! I do make somen salad, but never did soba salad so will have to try your recipe. Love your family meals, Cari❣️ Thank you for sharing😋😍
Aloha Cari and Family! Another wonderful vlog. The food looked super ono, will definitely need to try making those at home. Always look forward to watching your vlogs (my Mom says "hello").

Just to clarify mom blanched carrots, the spinach and edamame went in raw?
Yumm! Do you know how many teaspoons is in a packet of dashi?? I have a jar of it.
Hi Irene... I am not sure.... but I would just add as I go so you can get the flavor that you like.
Just curious how to cook the noodles
Just a basic boil... somen noodles take a lot less time than regular noodles.
So great to have discovered this channel. But most of all beautiful memories of the beautiful couple from Papaaloa Hongwanji back in the 90s.
Thank you so much, Kathleen! Welcome to our family!
