Nice to see Aaron and his shop on youtube. I did a two day blacksmith coirse with Aaron and learned a lot. I would recommend his course to anyone interested in basksmithing. Looking forward to seeing more of you on here Aaron,.
I am the (mainly) admin element of ferric fusion - its my husband Aaron in the film. Its really great to have positive feedback from people so thanks to everyone for the lovely comments, we do read them and we are happy people have enjoyed the video.
Beautiful. Something i have admired and watched my dad do from a kid. Now his is older and i wish i would have learned to do. But there is always time. Cool video.
Hi, its me in the video. I don't use flux - it makes a mess in the fire. As long as the metal is cleaned its fine. The flick is to remove dirt. Thanks for all the views and positive comments.
I am currently trying to become a Blacksmith, I'm looking into joining the California Blacksmith Association. For as long as I can remember blacksmithing has been one of those things i've really, really wanted to do. The flying sparks, the sound of the hammer hitting the metal, everything about blacksmithing is just amazing to me. It is one of my biggest goals to become a blacksmith.
I agree very much with you sir, CNC machining and modern detailed tolerances are implemented to achieve repetition... yet here this guy with his eyes and one measuring length tool does the same... apparently hundreds of times brilliant, good job keep it up...
what carbon steel are you working with? also i am in welding school right now and i want to make a new forge i was hoping to get some opinions on my design?

Great stuff. Nice to see there are still those who take pride in their craft. Your teachers would be very proud, I'm sure.

Just realised I’ve replied a mere 9 years later 😂 I hope you’re a pro blacksmith by now?!
A very enjoyable video, many thanks. Interesting to see how other people forge rams heads. Thanks for sharing.
That's amazing especially knowing that it took time and hard work

Amazing...
good job....
No flux when welding?
It does actually look like he used flux though. You see how he whipped the iron down. You do that to get the excess flux off the piece.
Do you sell these ram's heads?
This is awesome! I made my first hook yesterday, so check back with me in a year or two and I'll make one of these :)
I said if your good you don't need flux. Its true, but flux is always a good idea.

kind of like your subconscious mind doing things for you... nice...
well "just keep going" eh?
not true. it is POSSIBLE without flux, but that's just laziness
