Doctor Anne Dr. Anne as per your request I will respond in detail which I hope helps. I am going to try and put everything in order with hopes that it might help :) Also, it may be a long post but it is worth a read and your time as I will go into detail what I have been doing to achieve what I never thought was possible and the results which I will explain at the end are shockingly good. My morning routine is : I wash my face with Cera-Ve Hydrating Cleanser, then I put on Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence, then I’m From Rice Toner, then Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence, then Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, then The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, then The Ordinary Resveratrol, then The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F (Vitamin C Serum) or The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% as I would alternate between using these two Vitamin C products, then at times The Ordinary Rosehip Oil, then Skinfix Barrier+ Moisturizer or First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream or at times Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream as it depends what my skin is needing at a certain time and I finish with an SPF Cream. My nighttime routine(when using Tretinoin as I use it every other night) is : DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, Cera-Ve Hydrating Cleanser, then I put on Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence, then I’m From Rice Toner, then Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence, then Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, then The Ordinary Niacinamide, then First Aid Beauty Ultra repair Cream. I wait about 20 min for that to sink in and then go ahead and apply my Tretinoin 0.05%. I would wait another 15-20 min after applying Tretinoin and then I would apply the moisturizer again and seal it with Aquaphor. I will explain the reasoning behind all of this below. My nighttime routine #2 (when I’m not using Tretinoin) is : DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, Cera-Ve Hydrating Cleanser, then I put on Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence, then I’m From Rice Toner, then Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence, then Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence from Cosrx, then Benton Fermentation Essence, then The Ordinary Amino Acids + B5, then The Ordinary Niacinamide, then The Ordinary Buffet and The Ordinary Matrixyl, then Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream, then I would wait about about 10-15 min and then seal it all in with Aquaphor Healing Ointment. This is my personal routine and it is an extensive one but the results that I have seen in a short amount of time are miraculous and this may or may not work for someone else. I also want to mention that I incorporate other products from The Ordinary on a weekly or bi weekly basis depending on if my skin needs it. For example I would use The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once per week or every two weeks, sometimes I would skip that and use The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% and other times I would use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Solution. Never at the same time but rather pick one as I am on Tretinoin and dont want to damage my skin. Sometimes if it happens that my skin is sensitive I would use The Ordinary Vitamin “B” Oil as it helps a lot with skin barrier repair. With all this being said, I initially had a lot of hyperpigmentation on my face, wrinkles on my forehead, smile lines and periodic breakouts. Since I have started using all these products my skin has changed drastically and you will not believe if I told you that I started using The Ordinary products about 10 months ago and my Tretinoin 6 months ago. Since then the wrinkles on my forehead are completely and I mean completely gone even though most of the people would say that you cannot get rid of wrinkles with just using these products but it happened to me and I’m sure it can happen to other people. My smile lines are faintly there which is fine as I have always had them but the majority is GONE gone! Oh God, and as far as my hyperpigmentation goes hmmmm IT IS NON EXISTENT! I am so very serious when I say that those brown spots I had from sun exposure have completely disappeared with the way I have been using these products. I haven’t had a breakout in about 5-6 months which is amazing and I am telling you all of this with the hopes that someone who is struggling with their skin and their routine will be able to see and read that it is possible to accomplish so much more than what you are hearing and seeing on the internet and social media. Is my skin perfect? Gosh no, but it’s close enough for me as I am approaching my 40th birthday in a month. The only thing I am still struggling with is some faint fine lines under my eyes and that’s about it. If anyone has any suggestions on how to diminish those or Dr. Anne if you do please let me know. Lastly I want to mention the other products I incorporate into my skincare are: The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10%, The Ordinary Plant Derived Squalane, Vitamin C 30% Suspension in Silicone and Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution. All of these are amazing and I love them just as much as the ones mentioned above you just pick what works best for you. I truly hope that this information helps you Dr. Anne and anyone else that may read it and if anyone has any questions regarding what I wrote please don’t hesitate to message me and I will be more than happy to help you out in any way that I can. P.S. My apologies for an extremely long post and if you Dr. Anne could give me your thoughts on all of this I would really appreciate it.
@@xEminaxH Your routine incorporates really all the ingredients that I love as well and I can imagine you seeing great results from it. For me personally that would probably be too many steps, as I am an impatient person, but in regards to it being "excessive" I think you have to keep in mind that The Ordinary products, as opposed to other brands, usually just focus on their one active, so you need to combine a few to get a mixture you would probably have premixed in another serum. I am 70 and have dry, sensitive skin, so everything I use is fragrance free and essential oil free. I am also sensitive to CoQ10 and do not use products with that ingredient. My daily routine is: Tatcha oil cleanser, Neogen rice essence, and Josie Maran sunscreen in the morning before putting on makeup. Then the cleanser, essence, and Biossance omega rich moisturizer at night. I am thinking of replacing the Biossance with Trader Joe's Marula Oil for $6.99, when the Biossance moisturizer runs out to save $. I seem to get the same results when using that oil. (Marula oil also has omegas). I am also going to try Paula's Choice Defense Essential Sunscreen (haven't gotten it yet), to replace Josie Maran's. Josie's is a little heavy for summer, and I live in a humid climate. I use a rice powder exfoliant (Tatcha) 3 x a week after cleansing. When that runs out, I am going to try Tony Moly "I am rice exfoliant". It's much cheaper, so I'll see how that works. If I don't like it I will keep buying the Tatcha on sale. I tried retinoids multiple times and it makes my skin angry no matter what I do. Just exfoliating regularly seems to work for me. Adding more products than these few products doesn't seem to make any difference. I occasionally use Paula's choice cleansing balm for a second cleanse on days I wear a lot of eye makeup which is very rare. I feel it's too heavy for daily use for me. If anyone has used the Paula's choice sunscreen, or the Tony Moly, please post your results. I also have tried numerous oil cleansers, but can't find a good dupe for Tatcha. My most recent attempt was Klairs, (the clear bottle). Unfortunately, it doesn't remove mascara at all. I always get compliments on my skin, and told I look younger than I am. My only regret is I wish I had paid more attention to my neck skincare when I was younger.

I love the way an essence feels on my skin but I can’t use it because it makes the rest of my skincare ball up on my skin. I’ve tried 2 different essences and same thing happened with both.
Doctor Anne not long, I applied it as soon as it dried on my skin - a couple of minutes. I applied my vitamin c first, then essence, then Q10 serum, moisturiser and finally sunscreen. It’s already balling up after moisturiser and worse after sunscreen. I don’t think I’m applying too much but perhaps my skin cannot absorb all of it so I removed the essence as I feel it has the least actives. The rest play nicely together.
@@Giannas1096 Many people recommend applying the serum directly after the essence, without it being dry, as damp skin absorbs ingredients better (the barrier function isn’t as good then). But you are probably right, the essence is the one with the least benefits for sure, and if leaving it out solved the problem, even better. Out of curiosity, why do you combine Vitamin C and Q10? Both are antioxidants, I would probably just use one or the other.
Doctor Anne the Q10 also has matryxil 3000 and hyaluronic acid. I use the Timeless serums, I’m very happy with them, you must try them. The essence makes everything ball up no matter when or how applied. I would rather keep using the serums and leave out the essence rather than persevere with it.

@@Giannas1096 I am totally with you there, I would always skip the essence in favor of a serum too.
Before watching: mmmm probably all the same! After: .... (I'll add another comment after!)
