The Power of Communication Skills in the life of Engineers.
I am Nikhil Jain, a PhD Student in geomechanics from IIT-B Monash Research Academy. I have co-founded- www.foreignadmits.com & www.viaspeak.com.
Having mentored over 3000 students and few startups, I give a great credit to my communication skills.
Communication skills are the very basic need for every human to live, survive & excel in this society. In the corporate world, this is a valuable skill which you can't miss out.
As a developer or coder, you may be great in your skills but your inability to express or communicate your thoughts may make you fall in troubles. One needs to work in a team and thus communication is a very important skill.
To even sell yourself in 1st place during any interviews or group discussion or F-to- F interviews, communication skills are of paramount importance.
So if you're a student or an aspiring engineer looking to excel in career or want to build yourself in a strong way in the professions, learn to communicate.
There are many courses on coursera you can use to learn the techniques but it can better be learnt by practising it. Thus I would recommend you to join your debating clubs, lit-clubs. For students of the University of Morocco, the Great Debaters ENSIAS is a great platform to join and learn for becoming a leader or manager of the future.
