Thank you for posting! From the Why The Beatles Really Were The Greatest Band Ever Dept. FWIW, I agree w/the comments below about Paul's bass. Incredible. Also, this was 1968. So, The Beatles were creating something new.Or, more precisely, building on the Blues in ways that hadn't been done yet.
I 100% agree. Paul switched to round wound strings on his Jazz Bass for the While My Guitar sessions and that sound is present for the rest of the album, it’s so distinct from the Bass VI (which would’ve still had flatwounds)
It's getting better, you can be sure. It's gotten a lot better in the last 2 years! And regarding artifacts, it depends a lot on where the source was used. If it was a compressed file (mp3, etc.), the chances of such artifacts appearing are very high. The ideal would be a FLAC in full resolution.

Macca is my hero, but listening to his bass playing isn't always a blessing. The problem is that he hit the strings with a pick instead of using his finger tips. It doesn't sound good. And all the notes are not in tune. And that comes from his right hand.
@baselinesweb It wood have fit much better with a clearar bass tone. As it is now you just hear some sort of noice. A crash. It's not a tone. I've always liked that song, since the album came out, but at the same time, even as a kid, i thought It was carelessley played of all three string players in the band. Now we can clearly hear that. Maby not if you're not a musician. It's obvious that they didn't rehearsed It enough. Probably in lack of time and John' s lack of patience.
The rawness of the bass line is what makes the song. There is no such thing as a “perfect” tone bro. And there is also nothing wrong with using a pick, considering Paul is famous for using a pick on his bass and has hardly ever used finger style playing.
@@nolanray2440 Did I say perfect bro? I'm not talking in such terms. Nothing is only black or white and there is a lot of levels between bad and "perfect". Paul plays both with and without a pick on records. And there's also different ways of using the pick. In this track he just slams the strings as if he's strumming a guitar. That's not good bass playing. I think this track is among Maccas poorer performances. And It's not the bad bassplaying that does the song. It's the two guitars!
both solos go ultra hard I absolutely love this song

The Fabulous John. The Fabulous BEATLES!
Lennon's rhythm track is crazy.
The Jazz Bass with flatwounds is such a badass sound
Same bass tone as Helter Skelter. I don't know why some people still doubt it was Paul with his Jazz bass on that track

The White Album is a great selling point for a Jazz Bass
@ That it is!
rickenbacker maybe?
Are you going to do a Deconstruction of Not Guilty? Since it was recorded during these sessions? Great work on this deconstruction!!!!
I'll probably do it as a bonus deconstruction yes!
@@rbstemsi’d be very interested in hearing that
@@rbstems Please, it would be great!
Wow!!!! John's vocal!!!!
Keith Richard's bass playing is more melodic than Paul's on this song.
Espectacular
One of the my favourite Beatles song.
Good stuff. Many thanks.

I wish there was a photo of this session. Apparently it was in a small room next to the control room
not downstairs in the actual studio #2.

Did Lennon really do that solo at 18:20? Those bends sound a lot more like something George would play.
That's George's guitar bleeding, so not John you're correct
Does the Beatles enginner used to double john’s voice, isn’t it!? But does he spread it left and right or put both in mono?

@ Thanks, bro!
They used varispeed on the George´s Guitar solo, for sure.
I believe I read it’s a Leslie on a fast setting.
@@thomaspappalardo7589 also with ADT wobble.
No they didn't
@@songwriterjj6022 why not? They used a lot of varispeed in these albums. Look for the original speed of "back from ussr". They used varispeed.
who is playing 3rd guitar solo beneath george's loud solo
Your mom 😂😂😂
It was most likely George with an overdubbed solo. I could be wrong though
