Thanks guys! Sound choice is a big one when there are so many poor hats out there... My issue was with overpowering hi hats. I'm finding that EQ'ing on the fly as I piece things together let's me know just how much I need to thin out my hats. I think they're sounding a lot lighter now. Maybe could just use better levels and a bit of sidechaining now
