    I'll be honest I don't have much good things to say about that. I've missed quite a few things off for that reason. I need to sleep on it. Video out tomorrow.

    Well done again Lewis for a 'from rhe heart' reaction to another dismal 88 minute performance from Luton but a vital lovely 'smash and grab' 3 points !! : it was a 'one dimensional ' performance against a not much better opponent but once Derby scored , it looked like Luton were on for another defeat !
    Ironic that it took a Pelly shot from ca 30 yards(who else in Luton team tries volleys/shots from distance ?) to be deflected in off Holmes to save the day , and possibly Edwards job, on 88minutes and another deflected shot to win it : we are creating zilch from open play only set pieces .

    Dont care that the goal was given to Holmes , for me that was Pellys 👍🤩 Lets hope he stays and gets more time on the pitch . Ok it was not a great performance , but most people thought it was going to be a draw and we won and thats all the matters .I dont understand all the booing from our so called fans , that is not going to help , we all should be getting behind the team .They gave us a nice xmas present , so lets all enjoy that .I will be watching out for your next video , when you have had time to think more about the game.Happy Xmas to you and all Luton fans.🎄🎄☃

    A poor performance but great result. Pleased obviously, but nothing to be assured of a better finish in the league without changes. Three at the back a woefully inadequate defensive strategy and no forward link-up play from central midfield confining us to crosses or hoofing the ball from the back. Oh how we miss Barkely.

    That was a torrid game to watch, especially for the neutral. My first thought when we went behind was that losing could be a blessing. I love RE but this can't go on. I hate to be negative but that unlikely win may see RE through the transfer window. Not a good thing imo!

    Jesus. Cheer up and celebrate. Played poorly, but still won. That's good. The best teams always get points from somewhere. I'm not saying we're one of the best teams, but finding a way to win or get points from that position is to be celebrated.

      @matthewteasdale3955 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@LewisWilliamsLTFC no, don't be fake, that's not what I'm saying. You look pissed off, despite a win. Was it great, no, did we deserve 3 points, probably not. Whatever you or others think about Edwards, it's clear from that level of fight that the team are behind him and are pushing for him. Sometimes you play really well and don't get anything (Sunderland) and other times you play poorly and get the result. That is just the way football goes.
      There are certain creators that would prefer that we lose to push the Edwards out agenda, and this video feels the same to me. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I would fight for anybody's right to that, but to come across annoyed after a positive result, regardless of the performance, seems churlish to me.
      Ultimately the papering over the cracks argument can be pushed at every game, but the fact is, we currently sit in the definition of mid table, 9 points from the play offs and 8 from the bottom 3. I'm sure we would all rather be in and around the top 6, with outstanding performances week in week out, but that's not going to be the case for the minute. Just try and be happy with the result, rather than trying to push the "see we're crap, Edwards out" rhetoric, despite the result.

      I look annoyed because 88mins I was quite angry with that performance. I still not over the fact we’ve won. Tbh Edwards also felt the same but the look of it.

    Chin up, chest out Luton, we won. Massive confidance boost to all the team. Keep moving up the table bit by bit. To be here by Christmas after such a bad start should be respected. Consolidate this league statues should be the only target. Leeds and Sheffield United are on another level. No need to be jealous. A few good signings in January might change the picture. Enjoying your analysis Lewis. Appreciate your time and effort.

    For 89 minutes we did next to NOTHING !! Really what a poor game, I wonder what Sky's viewers would have thought of it !! Derby must be 'kicking' themselves, not that they were SO much better !! I very much agree with you that I think that equaliser by Pelly has probably saved Rob's job !! I think they were 'good' substitutions made by Edwards in bringing Pelly and Joe Taylor on near the end, but, I guess really they smacked of 'desperation', but, via a Holmes deflection Pelly scored, then ANOTHER 'deflection' for Morris's winner !! Who knows this might be just the thing that turns this around, but, with the SAME formation and playing players out of position re: Chong, I'm NOT holding my breath !!

    One day you’re saying I don’t care how we win, just win, they do that (and by the way at home W4 D2 L0 of the last 6) and you’re whinging again. We have been poor this season yet we are still mid table. Maybe step back and realise we are not entitled to be challenging. We’ve spent less than a lot of teams above us (and a few below). Consolidate, and build on it next year. Derby had zero efforts first half, we had 6. We had a couple of other good efforts that didn’t result in goals. It wasn’t like watching Brazil but we found a way to win and it certainly wasn’t a disaster of a performance. If you can’t enjoy a turnaround like that, I think you need to take a breath and get some perspective

    • @LewisWilliamsLTFC
      @LewisWilliamsLTFC  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      Right here we go again. I’m not expecting us to be challenging. Never said we should. However, there’s a level of expectation when you get relegated from the Premier League. I think we should be getting top 10, exactly what we did before Premier League. If you think the first 88mins was good then me and you see football differently. I’m literally happy with the win, my perspective is that this wins covers a crack.

    • @Hatter-Dave
      @Hatter-Dave 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @ we are two points off 10th. The way you and certain other pods talk (one in particular), we are almost certainly going down. At home, we are struggling to play good football but we’ve been shit as a crowd so why would they be up for it - our points haul is top 6 at home lately. Booing all over the shop again today is nuts. I’ve been watching Luton for 25 years and I’ve never seen us acting so entitled as a collective. Rob isn’t going anywhere so maybe we try getting behind the team rather than piling on. It does no good at all. Sign of an underlying good team that plays shit and wins as often as we have at home. If we can fix the away form, we’ll be well on our way. I don’t like it either this season but bloody hell, we’ve been positive through a lot worse and this in fighting is depressing. We stole a win today. That’s good news. Let’s enjoy it. It’s not all about clicks.

    • @LewisWilliamsLTFC
      @LewisWilliamsLTFC  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Mate don’t bring up clicks with me. I’ve been doing this since League 2. If I wanted views I would be fake. I’m real. I don’t think we’re going to go down. Never said we are in a relegation fight so don’t bother comparing me to others. I know Rob isn’t going anywhere, and I do think he will be backed. But I will not lie to my audience which I’ve built for 10 years.

    • @Hatter-Dave
      @Hatter-Dave 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ not asking you to lie. Asking you to reevaluate. Things aren’t as bad as you seem to think they are. We’re playing badly yet we are still a mid table Championship side. Imagine what’ll happen when we start playing well. Don’t lie, just take a breath and enjoy the good days. 4th in the home form table. That’s good. Understand the away complaints - I’ve been there for them and it’s frustrating as hell but Luton Town are a steady mid table Championship side. That was the dream not that long ago

    • @LewisWilliamsLTFC
      @LewisWilliamsLTFC  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I want things to change in a positive direction, I really do. I like Rob. However I do question a lot of decisions he keeps making which can be avoidable if he changed the formation or personnel. As you say it’s a very poor Championship, maybe that’s why myself & others are frustrated we’re not taking advantage of it. We can’t keep relying on this home form, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Blackburn, Sheffield United have to come down. I enjoyed the last 5mins of today, I stayed back and clapped the recovery, previously I’ve just gone straight home when the whistle goes. We need to use this fuel from the win and stop the losing streak away from home.

    First half, Luton were the better team. Derby had ten minutes on top, in the second half and scored. Our football is rubbish at the moment, but Pelly isn't the saviour. He was out of his league in division 1. If you are going to call it a back five, then it's: Walters, Burke, Mengi, Bell and Doughty. Midfield is: Nakamba, Baptiste and Krauss. Up front: Chong, Adebayo and Morris. With everyone fit, it's not rocket science. As much as I love Jordan for THE goal, his distribution is awful and he can't tackle. Chong can't tackle either, so put him up front, where he can do damage. Release: Pelly, Walsh, Woodrow and Anderson, they are out of their league.

    • @JonGilbert-u6z
      @JonGilbert-u6z 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Trouble is, that's 11 outfield players. Agree with your 'back 5' but Baptiste hasn't convinced me and Nakamba seems to have lost interest so would have Clarke in the midfield with Chong and Krauss. Like 2 upfront, but Taylor needs to have more time on to make an impact.

    • @TheChrishoughton
      @TheChrishoughton 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JonGilbert-u6z We have Lamine coming in, surely he must start? I have watched videos of him and he can go past players, something we don't have at the moment, apart from Chong, who seems to be given defensive roles, which I must say, is totally bizarre, as he can't tackle for toffee. The tactics we are deploying are totally ridiculous and I can't get past that. Holmes falls over 90% of the time. He is a lumberer, just like McGuiness, but at least McGuiness can tackle and win headers. The most important thing, is the midfield losing the ball and not being able to retrieve it. Krauss wins the ball, but he is the only one. You can't compete when you constantly lose the ball and don't win it back. Rob is a nice bloke, but he has to go. Something I didn't wan't to say, but now inevitable.

    if you look at the stats for the first half we were all over them. But watching it it was poor. Derby got nowhere near our goal it seems. Second half they caused us problems. They got there goal. I was thinking it was a smash and grab but in reality, we both played poor. Kraus was good at breaking up play but no creative element. That's what we lacked.
