    Loving this series. No shortcuts in this project - Do it right first time and it's done forever.
    We pick up our ProMaster on Saturday and will definitely be following your workflow. Thank you.

      Hi Keith, sorry for the late response. I agree. Do it right the first time. Use the right materials, and always keep troubleshooting in mind. You don’t want to have to rip out half the ceiling if something goes wrong with the AC unit or the fan. Best of luck with your building we’re looking forward to hearing how it goes

      Keith, Good luck wit your fan install....It's a pretty straight forward process....but I am glad we build the frame around it. It gives us something to attach the ceiling to

    You guys are fantastic! You guys made me smile the entire video. I am doing my fan install today and you gave me a a lot of info including adding the the little wood parts of the wood support from the inside. I hope to see more of your work. Keep it going!

      Hi Johnny, Thanks for watching.....and we are so happy that our video is helping you on your journey. Our build is going a lot slower than we had hoped, but we are getting there. The frame around the fan was a huge help when framing the rest of the van. Just take it slow.....do each part right....and I am sure it will come out great. Would love to see pics of your fan when you are done :)

    Is there a reason you used adhesive over butyl tape for between the roof and the adapter?
    Were you just lucky that in the closed position the fan doesn't touch the back rail of the roof rack or did you take that into account when positioning the fan? It looks very tight in the roof rack install video.

    • @marctania2349
      @marctania2349  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually we took it into account when designing and positioning the rack. We just put in our roof deck yesterday and there is only about 1/4-1/2 inch between the decking and the fan..but it opens and closes just fine

      @@marctania2349 sorry to pester. what about using adhesive over butyl tape for the fan spacer/adapter?

      @@grayandgrumpy I am about to install this adaptor and using the adhesive is the recommendation from the manufacturer.

    Nice. Hows the fan been?
    Any leaks?
    Did you seal between the fan and the white fan bracket too?
    Why did you use butyl tape rather than sealant between fan bracket and adapter?
    Ty
    Im thinking about installing a fan but Im worried the extra height will not allow me to go thru drive thrus anymore😪🤣

    • @marctania2349
      @marctania2349  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi.....No leaks at all actually.....and it has been through some killer rainstorms here in GA> To be honest....I cant recall how we sealed it...I would have to watch the video myself. We did use a custom flange. I think it was from DIY Van. Then I. think we butyl taped underneath. I think the lap sealant is the real trick....we haven't had any water get inside. The fan only sticks up a few inches when its closed. I can;t imagine it would get in the way .

    I appreciate videos like yours but one thing y'all never address is -- HOW do you insure these van builds 😏
