A quick tour of the 3 different Austin Custom Brass flugelhorn mouthpieces: ACB show and tell!

- [links in description] We recently had a customer request a video of the ACB flugelhorn cups on an Adams instrument so I decided to whip up this quick low-fi tour of them!
Our three Austin Custom Brass Flugel cups are as follows:
FD: Our deepest flugelhorn mouthpiece, designed to give a "horn-like" darkness to your sound. Other extra-deep flugel pieces I've played have been very challenging to keep in tune and also play any notes above the staff. Our FD cup is VERY deep and will most likely require a stronger player to utilize the full capabilities of this piece.
MDF: A general "all-purpose" flugel mouthpiece that is dark enough, yet still easy to project and cut above the staff for when I've had to play first parts on flugel. Our MDF cup is by far the most popular cup depth we sell.
F: This mouthpiece has our shallow cup depth, which works great for occasional flugel doublers, or players who need to play more aggressive flugel parts.

Awesome! This makes the decision process much easier… I was thinking the deeper two but actually like the shallower 2… thank you so much… when I ordered my Doubler’s Flugelhorn you had the MDF in my rim so I am super excited to get them in when the horn arrives…. Still love the A cup in my short Cornet pieces.. Trent you make wonderful mouthpieces.
Love the ACB 3CS MDF on my Adams Sonic Flugelhorn. Such a great sound.
Wow. I found it easier to hear the difference going from deep -> shalloW. Great demo!
My question is, I just started playing the Flugelhorn. The horn that I got is a generic one. The company name is Sai Musical. I have no idea what mouthpiece they have on it now, it came with it. I feel like I would like another one. Which one would you suggest for a beginner? I do play the trumpet. My trumpet has a 7C on it and that seems to work for me.
I would personally save money and buy a higher quality instrument...
