    I've hunted long enough that habitat improvement is about as enjoyable for me as hunting is.

    This is helping me because the past few years me and my grand paw are working on improving the habitat on a property we have hunted for years but never really thought about how we could maximize the properties full potential and in year one we are already seeing results such as the average buck being around 20 inches bigger. We attended your field day and it really really helped us and meeting the team in person is a experience I will never forget can’t wait for this season to start. Thank to all of the growing deer team

      Your average did not increase 20 inches in 1 year. Re evaluate why you came to that conclusion.

      @@usernamehere6061 I don’t think the deer got bigger necessarily I just think they were in the area the whole time but had no real reason to come to our property

      @@usernamehere6061 there are a bunch of reasons that he could be noticing 20 inch bigger deer. Better water, better food, as he noted better habitat attracts better critters, milder than normal stress periods, hunters being more selective and better general health of a deer herd.

    I love my Moultrie cell camera. Cell cameras in general have been the cats meow. A lot less disturbance. Battery life is really good. Helps saves time too.

    cant Wate to see the team this fall in action...with all the improvements i have done on the farm i was impressed with the deer response to the improvements .then two weeks ago now we started find dead deer every where 31 so far ,had mdc come out an found out it was EHD .i lost alot of does an a fue fawns .but what hurt the most was finding my three 5 yr old buck dead one they measured for me it was a 198 in buck in velvet . so now i dont want to hunt any deer on the farm ..im just sick the drought the wardens said hit wayne county had this year with EHD with dead deer all over the county .we still have alot of deer on the farm but the age class is young does an fawns an lot of young bucks .
    that i dont think are shooters do to them being 2 -3 yr olds age class deer
    your process of habitat an all works Doc GRANT .

    Awesome video Grant and team. Question… are you seeing named bucks from PG1 show up on PG2 cameras?

      The two properties are separated by an old cattle fence. There are certainly deer with home ranges that include portions of both properties.

      No doubt it can help improve soil. However, we know and have shown that soil can be significantly improved much easier and less expensively by simply following the simply soil health principles.

    Love the predator trapping. Do you ever leave some live cedars for winter cover or does it not get cold enough to bed against it.

    • @GrowingDeerTV
      @GrowingDeerTV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Deer don't like bedding in the shade and damp when it's cold. They prefer being in tall native grasses where the wind is blocked and the sun can warm them up. Just like hunters don't want to be in shaded and damp places when it's cold.
