I've used ppf for my wing mirrors, headlights, door grabs. Just be careful, over the years ppf fuses to the paint. I redid mine and it took out quite a bit of paint as well when they remove it.
The other benefit of PPF (that is not commonly mentioned) is that it actually makes repainting the panel much easier, when stone strikes do penetrate the PPF. This is because an unprotected panel with deep chips, is very difficult to flatten, thus increasing the labour and material cost of repainting. Obviously, cost benefit ratio has to be factored in, but for a premium car with premium paint, PPF is a no-brainer.
At first glance at the thumbnail image, I thought the stone chips became worse after the installation of the film....I thought the reflection of the lamps were the chips and the squares were the markings of the affected areas! Silly me! 🤣
Just the front PPF. For most people it’s not obvious. But if you look closely the front has a little bit more gloss. On camera and most people it’s not noticeable.
Hey there! Right now I'm deciding between the Xpel Ultimate plus and the Xpel Ultimate Fusion. I guess you have the standard Xpel Ultimate Plus, is it easy to clean? And can you still add a coating like wax on it? It looks really great after 1 year ! I'm just not sure if I should pay more just to get the Fusion Wrap that has a better integrated coating.
Sorry for the late reply. Xpel Ultimate Plus without coating clings onto dirt more. I added on Fusion Plus Ceramic Coating on it. I believe applying the Ceramic Coating after is better than the pre-coated films.
Chasing cars are just an exaggerated exposure to stones. You can get stone chips from highway and b roads too. Some cars fling them around even in normal speeds.
Hey Guys! Hope you enjoyed and found this review helpful. If it did, please help me smash the LIKE button, it would mean ALOT to me. Thanks!
This is probably the most honest and real world review. Keep it up Thomas!
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
Yes, I wish more people would make these types of wear videos.
Yep I'll be doing another update video soon!
PPF definitely requires proper installation, thanks for this video! I ended up with full ppf on my GR Supra
Your video just convinced me to get FULL hood & frontal PPF on my brand new BMW M240i. Thank u
Nice!
I just did it in my Type R. getting it tomorrow,
Really well done video. Lots of great info, honest and down to earth.
Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hey thomas, this is the video I've been looking for! Thanks 🙏
You’re welcome! Glad you found it useful!
Xpel is really good. No joke.

Did u respray the panels prior to install of ppf? It’s alarming if ppf removes original paint.
Also whst brand did you use? Sounds very suspicious your comment.
@jd fd nope, it is the original paint. Luckily the wing mirror has black plastic trim surround, so not that noticeable

Well said! This is absolutely spot on.
Hello, nice sharing. Which is advisable to take? a) full front, b) full front + 4 doors or c) full car PPF . Thank you
3:38 huge rocks can be kicked up by non supercars like a Suzuki Swift as well.....
Thanks for the video.
Yep 100%

Haha! I guess it accidentally became a “clickbait” unintentionally!
Yup, thought the same thing, so it's not only you.
Great video very informative
Hey Thomas, how much did it cost to install for the whole car and which workshop did u go to? Or u got any suggestions?
Full front + rocker panels is around 7k IIRC. look up Xpel Malaysia bro.
Thank you
To maintain original car paint glossy, can apply ceramic coating then only apply PPF on top?
Hi Thomas so your car just did front PPF? Is it obvious the PPF and non PPF sections of the car?
Just the front PPF. For most people it’s not obvious. But if you look closely the front has a little bit more gloss. On camera and most people it’s not noticeable.
Did they PPF the headlight lenses? Regardless, was wondering how the lenses fared against stone chips?
Yep they did. No issues at all at the lenses!
Looks well worth it to me!!! What about bug stains?
No problems. But the caveat is I wash once a week maximum once every 2 weeks
Hey Thomas, any good paint shop to recommend before ppf?
DM me at my insta handle @thomasyapofficial
Where’s the location of this Xpel store?

Yup my Xpel is serving me well :)
I’m glad! I love my xpel too!
did you use the 8mm or 10mm ppf for this? looks good.
8m :) Yes it has a nice gloss. I have the 10m on my M2c and the gloss is even more awesome
@@ThomasYap good to hear, I’m about to try it out on my evo once it’s back from paint, it’ll be interesting to see how the Australian sun treats it. 😀
@@aaronc3032 nice! I'd recommend to install ceramic coating on it too. helps it stay nice and glossy.
How you keep your light so damn shinny damn
Polished and protected by Xpel's PPF :)

Hi Thomas, do they have a branch in JB ?
Yes bro.
@@ThomasYap do you have their shop address in JB, thxs bro for the prompt reply
I’m guessing unless one is chasing other cars etc than PPF is probably not making sense for the price….

YES to PF if it's STEK, a BIG NO if it's XPEL.!
👍👍👍
Could have been more edgeless install for your Porsche. Xpel is known for orange peel vs other brands.
Yep, can opt for edgeless installation too. Up close got orange peel but it tends to keep its glossy look longer
is the xpel on Alibaba Express legit or counterfeit?
