I honestly don’t know where to put Ivar. My first impulse was to deny that he could ever be a Gryffindor, due to his very questionable morals. But honestly thinking about it, it doesn’t seem that unrealistic: He is brave, he is bold, very audacious. His morals are a part of the culture he grew up in an even though he is pretty ruthless, the people around him do not reflect on him that his use of violence is excessive until he goes kind of crazy (I mean, by the time he declared himself a God we can all agree he is crazy, right?) And losing your mind can happen to any person from any house. He would also make a great Slytherin though, due to his cunning nature and ambition.
I totally agree with you. Yes, she was very ambitious and cunning which are traditionally more Slytherin qualities, but she was also brave and bold and chivalrous. She freed the slaves in the slave cities, she came to the rescue when the northerners called! The fact that she eventually broke from the losses she had to endure all her life does not change that!
