I use Foundry for my online games, but also really enjoy using it in person as well. We have a TV for virtual maps that another player will cast to the TV with a module that hides all UI and I'm running the GM instance as my dashboard for initiative, stats, etc.

I play entirely online. I use Foundry for for Character Sheets, rolls, initiative tracking, etc. But I have a second webcam for physical Terrain and minis. I have the camera lower and close to the scene. Almost giving my players a boots-on-the-ground view. They have described it as being very immersive.

also it's good for local games, since you can start at half past seven after dinner with the family. Also "I'm gone for half an hour, I need to put the children to bed" is doable, and single parents can join without finding a baby sitter.
