- This isn't the only time he looked at her for approval in past videos and seemed generally uncomfortable around her. This one stuck out for me... it was at a premiere for Mortdecai. Mind you this is only 2 minutes yet...there was something odd going on. You have to look carefully at his body language: In the beginning, he mouths "Stop" to Amber (twice!) because she obviously didn't want him to do an interview. He then shook his head "no" then proceeded with the interview. Notice he backed little after locking eyes with Amber, fearing he upset her by going against her wishes. Notice he had a plaster on his finger too...not sure if she injured it but she certainly injured his middle finger a couple of months after this. While answering questions, he kept checking to see if she was okay with it. She pretended she was, knowing they were being watched. He perhaps unintentionally used words like 'out of control' and 'difficult' to reflect the situation back then. At the end he asked, "can we go?" Why should he even ask for her permission? She treated him like a dog throughout their whole relationship.
Bless him. He's trying to be polite but is anxious because of her. She's a nasty piece of work

As a 16 year old, I know how Johnny feels in this video. The way he looks at her after every answer to see how her face is to make sure he didn't mess up or say something she didn't like. She's dominant because he's not a man. He's a teenager who can't function properly after years of alcohol and drug abuse. The guy can't even talk properly. It doesnt justify the abuse, but he's pathetic. I really disliked her in the beginning, and I thought the consequences on his career were unacceptable (and still do). However, after reading her letter, I can understand her frustration with him. She met him when he was clean off drugs and alcohol, and she ends up with someone who's constantly drunk and regularly ends up sleeping in his vomit. It's a nightmare to live with an alcoholic. She should have left him though.

@@louloutre I know. He got into drugs and alcohol at about 11. He came from a background of alcoholism and drug use, and he can't control that. he didn't choose to be born into that family. Again, I'm not justifying his alcohol and drug usage, but Amber is clearly the abuser, and there is no excuse for that. There are better ways to solve these problems, and neither of them handled the situation in a good way. But it does break my heart that it had to end up like this. I remember watching an interview with Johnny from a while ago (before they were together) and Johnny was so clearly in love with her and wanted a good relationship with her. They both made mistakes though, and its over now. I hope that Johnny becomes clean again, and stays clean.

AWelsh Celt well I personally know... a lot of woman that have been abused (really it’s shocking how many will open up about something that happened you wouldn’t expect), and zero of their abusers got in any trouble. None. Make of that what you will. Maybe most famous men get punished, but most men aren’t famous, and most times they abuse someone they know or abuse a family member, which makes holding them accountable difficult.
As a victim of emotional abuse, I can tell you that is EXACTLY how I act around my abuser (family member in my case), it is so obvious that she's not the victim, and yet he is the one being blamed. Women are perfectly capable of abusing men, and society really needs to understand that.

Idk the people you're around but I haven't heard one person say that in my circle. Maybe you should reevaluate some of the people you surround yourself with. This last is the worst part, because he won't have it back unless the Good Lord operates a kind of "miracle"! He may rebuild his life but that, that precious family part, is his biggest loss. I may say that " he lost his life when he met that stupid woman". Everything began going downfalls since then and he forgot he was almost 50 at the time: he should have thought about sticking to the family, to a woman that loved him deeply like the one he had, onstead of getting teenager decisions and getting lost into lust. I care about him and hope the Good Lord brings him and Vanessa together one day. That is his only chance of recovering the most important in his life: a united family like the one he had then!
It's unfortunate these things happen but I am happy that women like Amber and Jada are being exposed. I've been on the receiving end of abuse and manipulation from women before. It's not always the man's fault but our society has always found it easier to blame the man than the woman.
It's because of how history, men back then were sexist and wife beaters that's why people followed this type of mindset that men are always at fault when there is violence in a relationship between man & woman.
I haven't been following the trials too closely, but I have a feeling they are both guilty to some degree. The behavior she displayed is really manipulative and controlling, but at the same time it is clear Depp has been abusing drugs, whether medicinal or not. And it isn't a stretch that he's taken it too far verbally and potentially physically (the extent of which is to is to be questioned). I think it's a little naive to assume there is just one party at fault here.
Unfortunately that not accurate, it's been well known that both men and women can be in abusive relationships. What's difficult for these organisations that are out there including the police force, legal, judges etc, is getting the wronged parties to step forward and say something. Through fear or blinded by the treatment, and men are even harder than women to admitting when they are in abusive relationships.

I’ll never forget years ago when he was filming Public Enemies in our little town of Columbus Wisconsin and how Christian Bale wouldn’t even come out of his trailer, yet Johnny stayed until every single person who was in line either got their photo or autograph etc. The sun was starting to set and he was still outside until every last person in line got what they were hoping to get and talk to him that day. Johnny was such a generous soul, so humble, so kind, so genuine & so appreciative of his fans. It truly shows his character. He is a good man. If he’s ever been abusive, it was only to himself. But that’s what empaths do, they turn inward. In lieu of potentially hurting others, they hold it all in. He’s so compassionate & this entire situation makes me sad. I wish him justice & eventually peace, (true) love & happiness. ❤️

I believe he was either intoxicated or heavily medicated during this time, and it makes me so sad to watch. I’m sure that toxic relationship heavily contributed to his addiction. But glad he’s in recovery and standing his ground. I believe he will win the trial, the truth will prevail.

It is horrific, no gender, no human being should have to suffer at the hands of a narcissist abuser. It truly damages your soul and my only saving grace was complete NO CONTACT and Jesus Christ. It takes time and a lot of love to heal from these people.
