Irina is so pretty. The short hair looks strange, but I know they do it to show off the structure and muscle on the animal. Congrats on a nice heifer.
What a beauty! Loved watching Lucy (hope I spelled that right) interact with the cows. It's freezing here still in south eastern Ontario Canada. Minus 25 C , suppose to get to minus 15 today. But it's a beautiful sunny day.
Lucy is a good helper! She is so comfortable and doing a wonderful job

Good to.see you..your daughter is a cutie. Did you know there are highland cats? Price $800-1000. Chad said if he could find highland cows for that price he would buy them all. When you showed us the auction..I thought there were a few for that price range. I could be wrong. Irina is a pretty girl. Take care

Heh Rhett. Congrats on your new addition, Irina is beautiful & very handy that she is already used to being handled. Lucy is a smart, sweet natured young lady, so cute when she gave Halley a hug 🥰 Of course Lucy wanted to keep going back to the baby😊 The pics at the end were cool, particularly the last one of Irina with her (assumed) mum. The new heifer is home. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for her coat to regrow. Bravo for doing halter training and Irinas intro at the same time. And Lucy you are doing a super job with Hallie.

I am getting some wold highland calves about 3 months old. They've lived in a 400+ Acre pasture in Northern VT.
I am building a coral for them with cedar post an 2×4 rails. What height should I have my rails?

I’m down south. I probably am not spelling that kind of gravel right. But , it really might be too small.
#DanielArms has tried several different things to put down where his livestock stand around. And as you will know cows keep spots wet and nasty.
Ask #Chad about #Daniel if you don’t know who I’m talking about. He knows Daniel, if you don’t know who I’m talking about.
I’m just trying to help you and save cows from breaking legs. Or human legs or arms.

Was watching other channels and was thinking... somebody's missing. Took me a few minutes but then I saw your face. Went to to searching. Hope you and your family are doing well. Prayers.
Those are long haired cows used to cold weather. There should be a lot of shaded areas for them. I do not see any covered areas of shade, even that "barn type" structure was East West facing it looked like, offering no shade at all. Those animals are cold climate animals and should not be in full sun like other bovines.
@@IO-zz2xy 40% of our 120 acres are wooded. They have plenty of shade.
When those conveyor mats get wet water can and does get under them.
One of our sons work at a company that makes them. He brought us a run long enough to get across a wet spot. Big mistake. It was like walking on wet glass. Research research if you are thinking about getting them! Gonna break legs.
I highly advice against using them.
The mats they use at places like butchers use have large enough holes in them and they will drain, if you have drainage.
Please reconsider!

Ok thanks, I wasn’t planning on putting them where the cows walk on them. Just as a vision blocking tool on some of the panels, but that’s good to know

Watching you is making me wonder if Chad and his dad need a set-up like you have for taming their 3 beautiful cows down? They aren’t mean, just scared. But they are getting better. With the Beefie boys gone, I can see a huge difference in they way the little bull acts now. Them big cows spooked him, I think.
New animals can have too much space. Just saying #Chad, if you’re reading lol 😂

Rhett said she is to young. He gave her age. She sure is beautiful and she has been trained to be a great show highland. Time is so on her side. When she does get pregnant she may have some more titles to add to her pedigree for her offspring. I am sure looking forward to watching her mature.
