I laughed a little when he mentioned that link and zelda aren't dressed to explore the mountain during the cutscene when they're under ground with potential volcanic activity, and then cuts directly to a shirtless Link slamming against the frozen tundra wall in a snow storm.
I've never really paid it much attention. Didn't know there was a mystery concerning it. Like most people, I've tried and failed to climb it. Guess I'll have to go give it another look.
@@ZelRando You're right. I don't mind invisible walls as world end barriers, but at least let us get to the top of the mountain and then have a barrier that stops us going off the other side.
I was hoping TOTK would grow the map beyond the chasm. That didn’t happen, and I can understand why but I don’t get agaat still being off-limits in TOTK.
(This ended up being much longer than I expected, sorry!) Last week I explored the area(thought I explored it. Didn't) and I was so confused about that damn mountain!!! I think the theory that they are exploring Mount Agaat in botw 2 could be plausable. Although as you stated they aren't bundled up for that kind of weather, and also the fact that in the trailer, there's that malice smoke stuff that goes up the stairs. Why would there be stairs and bridges inside a mountain?? The reason why I don't think that they needed the clothes suited for cold weather is because in the "Silent Princess" memory, Zelda talks about using the 'Hot-footed Frog' to 'augment certain abilities', so maybe Link shows her that you just need to use monster parts to cook up an elixir and so Zelda starts making a bunch of them, and they use elixirs instead of clothes to keep warm in the mountains. I mean judging from the memories we get of her, she loves learning new things and researching, and definitely loves experimenting. So, it could possibly be that we have to go exploring Mount Agaat at some point in botw 2. The structures that we see in the trailer (stairs and bridges + the runes and such on the walls) could also be that they built it into the mountain and then sealed it from the top? seeing as there isn't anything on the side we can access to hint at an entrance. Well, maybe the slope that goes down towards the 'Kema Zoos' shrine, could possibly be an entrance?? Only problem with that theory is that the slope drops off and just ends, but it has a similair shape to the slope where the 'Eigth heroine' is. So maybe something will appear there on that slope. But it makes more sense for Ganon to be sealed beneath Hyrule castle than in a mountain on the outer regions of the kingdom. Except that the Yiga clan, who worship Ganon, are in the Gerudo Highlands and they obviously still worship him. So maybe they sealed him in the mountain, with that hand thingy so that he could regenerate(power up?) and eventually take over Hyrule, without anyone knowing. Because you stated in your "Link and Zelda Fail" video(loved it btw) that they would fail to defeat him, which leads to a 3rd botw!(tri-force vibes?!?!), and them finding him in there is the end to the game??? Orrr maybe I'm just going crazy because there's so many unanswered questions about botw hahahaha
Sorry for only just replying, you tube has a way of hiding 90% of my notifications from me haha! I actually have to keep going through all my videos and checking for new comments lol! You make some very interesting points, although i think it's possible for Ganons remains to be hidden under Hyrule Castle i don't think they are under hyrule castle, an evil genius like Ganon would hide his remains and secrets far out of reach from anyone, especially if it's his possible source of power? The idea of his remains being inside Agaat Mountain was just a theory and a possible idea of the location, but really Nintendo could hide Ganondorf anywhere haha! Great in depth questions and answer! Loved this read :D
I didn't realize Mt Agaat was unclimbable! That's really bizarre. I theorize it was named in order to make the boundary in the area more interesting. But that's just my personal theory. As another Zelda TH-camr I'm curious, how are you able to make so many Zelda videos? Your production schedule is way faster than I could keep up with. 😋
Being named to make the out border more interesting does seem to be the most likely explanation, and honestly I post 2 videos a week and it is pretty challenging! If I had a much bigger channel I would definitely just make one 15 minute video a week, thanks for the questions :)
@@ZelRando Actually, 10-ish minute videos are much nicer than 15 minute ones. And that's not just my own personal opinion either. Lots of people prefer to watch a shorter video to a longer one. Shorter videos are often more to-the-point and don't contain as much extra fluff as longer ones can have. Heck, I would rather watch a theory broken into two 7-10 minute parts than the whole thing in one 15-20 minute video. And I know I'm not alone in that, either.
I hadn't heard much about this before 2 was announced and I think it would be great to open up the edges of the map and let us go under them. I'd like to climb Agaat and I really want to see more of that whole edge of the map and more about the Gerudo
To answer your question about "Will Mount Agaat be used?", I'm going to have to ramble a bit. In Breath of the Wild, the player can see more land beyond the north, west and southwest edges of the map. However, as we know, these areas are not explorable. In some areas the player will encounter a cliff they cannot climb or a canyon too wide to cross and too deep to descend into. In other places, there is simply an invisible wall. I believe the reason for this is because Breath of the Wild was released both for the Switch _and_ for the Wii U. One major difference between the two consoles is storage space, which the Wii U has far less of. Thus, Nintendo had to limit the amount of content in Breath of the Wild to what the Wii U's hardware could handle, with one such limitation being map size. I believe Breath of the Wild was originally going to be a release title for the Switch, but partway through development, Nintendo decided to make it a farewell title for the Wii U as well. So the map was scaled back, certain content was scrapped, and what was left is the game we all know and love. However, Breath of the Wild's sequel will be Switch exclusive, or possibly a release title for an even more powerful console, so the limits of Breath of the Wild simply will not exist in that game. The map can and I predict _will_ be larger, meaning those inaccessible areas and locations can be fully explored, and Mount Agaat's true purpose will be revealed. Nintendo has said that when Breath of the Wild was completed, they still had unused designs, ideas and assets. The same was true back in 1998. When the developers finished Ocarina of Time, a game that had to be scaled back due to hardware constraints, they still had unused designs, ideas and assets. Those unused parts were then incorporated into the game's sequel, Majora's Mask. The only difference now is that instead of Ocarina of Time, Nintendo has Breath of the Wild and instead of Majora's Mask, Nintendo has Breath of the Wild 2.
botw was originally a wii u title, it was only moved to the switch because development took too long and the wii u was becoming too old, it was never originally planned for switch and then scaled back for the wii u. the game was literally referred to as "zelda wii u" when it was first revealed way back in 2013

I'm assuming you're pretty young or don't keep up with Zelda and/or gaming much. BotW has been in development since long before the Switch was even concevied, and you're "theorizing" that it was made on Switch and pushed back for Wii U as a "farewell" title?? How do you "theorize" something that is easily searchable on google, and was already well known info anyway. If you don't pay much attention to gaming stuff, news etc, then fair enough, but seriously you really should try doing simple google searches to answer your questions before coming up with "theories".

Something about it not even being able to get on top of and with that name struck me as something akin to a pyramid used to bury royalty. Again just a thought. Agaat is a reference to the Agate gem. Many locations in Gerudo are named after gems. Similar to how many locations around Hebra are named after birds
