I remember turning to my partner and gasping saying, "they're playing my favorite song!", happy like a child. Hearing this live was unreal, thank you for another upload 🥰
Giddy-up! New country/western guitar arrangement they've been playing since mid-June 2023, with new solos by Tom Rowley. For example at 2:19, if you can look through the pretty visitors waving their arms around 🤦♂.
Thanks for the upload! I like this version. Think it could benefit from Alex playing a rhythm part (on the acoustic maybe ?:D), but the licks are great. And the stop time after the solo is very fun, I almost miss it now when listening to the original version (even if it's an old trick :) ). It sort of has a 'The Band'/Dylan roots rock type vibe, which I honestly never thought I'd hear AM do.
I agree with you. In the months before this Turner actually played electric guitar on this song, for the first time since about 2011. th-cam.com/video/SwaDRyRx_dc/w-d-xo.html But just before the current version (with even more solos) was presented he dropped it. I think a combination of both would be ideal.
Oh, and another thing: Alex Turner has been influenced by The Band for the latest record. In conversation with Gijsbert Kamer for Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant last Summer: _"I can't get enough of the farewell concert in The Last Waltz movie", "I've delved into [Richard Manuel's] catalogue"._
@@strangedaysindeed9 thats really cool, thanks! I think I missed that interview. Just put on 'The Weight' from The Last Waltz - very familiar guitar (and overall) sound ;). Would be pretty cool if the band went that way for their next projects - not my favourite style ever, but could be interesting.
No you’re not the only one. I just can’t stand the way he sings nowadays. He sounds like a tired 70 year old grandpa. Even Mick Jagger is more energetic/lively. This video sounds like music for old people meh.
No, you're not the only one xD Cornerstone in particular, sounds like a completely different song. Too slow. It's still my favorite song, but whenever I search for live versions, I always play the video at 1.25x.
@@strangedaysindeed9 yup, the only difference is that those bands are dinosaurs, monkeys on the other hand are in their 30’s yet they’re trying to sound like the kind of music my grandparents would listen to.
@@peters5041 This song is a 14 year old song from 4 years into their recording career, done when they were in their early 20's. You know, a bit like when The Stones had a hit with cover ballad 'Time Is On My Side’ 1 year into their recording career as 20 year old kids. And how they developed themselves early on from being a strictly blues band to getting more poppy and mellow on ‘Ruby Tuesday’, ‘She’s A Rainbow’ and so on, while still being in their mid-20’s. Or when Metallica within 6 years after their international breakthrough as metal act scored a massive hit with tender ballad ‘Nothing Else Matters’ in their late 20's. Bands like these always evolve.

Tbh I don’t like this version. Nice video 😃
Nice audio, it is very clear too!
Not it man, not it
Am I the only one who doesn't like the way Alex sings this songs? It just too much theatrical. haha
Parece que ele se perde no ritmo da música
I agree 100%

It seems like he's tired of singing the same songs and tries to do something different with it, but it seems it isn't pleasing people the same way

With them going into their third decade as a band, it indeed is.
@@strangedaysindeed9 yup… tell that to the Rolling Stones and Metallica…
