Bruh I still don't know how dressel did this. The crazy part was that he was under record pace at the 150, which means dressel out split seliskar, even though seliskar left the rest of the field in the dust the last 50, seliskar is a middle distance swimmer vs dressel being a sprinter and seliskar having a faster 200 free time. I just can't wrap my head around it...

Dressel said himself that he took it out slow and had more energy than he expected in the last 50, hence why he came home in 23 high. Dressel also was apparently a really good 200 freestyler and didn’t have the space in his program to swim it in college and he said that he regrets it still.

@@aculturedspecimen I think he swam the 200 free in the 800 free relay once or twice, solid but not too crazy, but yeah you're right. I think Dressel Could've have owned that event in 2018. What's crazy is that he claims he took it out slow here, but meanwhile he split 21.0, which is much faster than anyone else does. It was a full second under Dolan's record pace and still faster than what Lanza here does.

I’m just thankful I’m faster than his las 50

Lmao, except for the fact that his split was without the blocks. Seliskar in a. 50 free is probably at the worst a 20 second 50 free😂

Holy jeezus, I was less confident in this one than let's say 17.63, but I did not realize it would get THIS fucking close. The legacy of the SCY King lives another day

i predict either shane casas is going to break it this year or next
but eventually i think carson foster is going to own this event in the coming future

@@sahilpanjwani2277 He and Lasco might dominate this as upperclassmen, but I can't see them smashing this very soon. My take is: If Casas doesn't take it down during his college career then the record is safe until atleast 2024
