- A return trip to the Todber Manor complex was on the cards after speaking to a mate in the week leading up to the session. Matt was a work colleague, we’d not been fishing for several years, it was nice to get out behind the rods again for a social. I was targeting the #carp due to a nice mild front that was upon us, where as Matt was after a pike.

I've not used an overwrap since the old Wavelock umbrellas back in the 90's, was nice to have some extra cover in the harsh weather! It's a nice venue for the winter, easy access! hoping to get on the Wye, lots of plans this year!

Matt Lane just check the forecast before you go. I’ve been night fishing for 25years so I don’t really find uk fishing that cold. If you have winter clothing and a good sleeping bag you’ll be fine.

What was the most productive peg and technique if you don’t mind me asking as I need all the help I can get there 😂
Matt Lane it’s a relatively easy water in good conditions. Just look for the fish, that’s the most productive peg. Ask the guys in the shop what pegs have been producing bites. Use what ever tactic you have confidence in. I’m a solid bag fan, but I also had 3 bream so most just fish with a boilie approach
