When she released this single mid-covid, she dedicated it to her fans as a comfort during the hard times. She had written it a few years earlier. I don't know who she originally was thinking about when she wrote it, though.
My suggestion to you, is to consider yourself a fan of Aurora and go back and listen to it, knowing it was meant for you.

Her beautiful song "Potion for love" is about the ending of love... would be perfect to react to after this song!

Nice reaction again! Aurora is an incredible songwriter. This is her first love song. There is another version of it with her only sitting at the piano, which gives it a more melancholic vibe. Now I would suggest you you watch the "sister song" from this one, "Potion of Love". While the first is about the experience of falling in love, the latter is about losing/forgetting love, like in a marriage and a divorce. She often sings the 2 songs together in concert. A few tidbits of info to this song:
Aurora recorded it 3 years before the music video in 2017 as a demo take with guitar and voice only, and this recording was used here, because she wanted to keep it as pure and genuine as possible, with all its small flaws and imperfections. She put it all together in time of quarantine with her team and her 2 sisters, who are her make-up artist and clothing designer. The dancers in the video are close friends and all the clothes were hand made and recycled from old clothes. The necklace, headpieces and bracelets were made by Aurora herself. She loves to do this stuff. And she is a huge fan of Leonard Cohen: 'We are leaning out for love and we will lean that way forever' is a quote of his song 'Suzanne'. You should also react to her beautiful "Famous Blue Raincoat" Cohen tribute performance.

This is her first love song she wrote back in 2017 when she felt that kind of love, but she didn't release it, she felt it wasn't time and was hesitant to write about love. Then in 2020 during Covid lock downs she felt it was time, and that her fans needed some love. The song is about the feeling of love itself more than about a specific person or relationship:
    youtu . be / LLuU7k8jzDI&t=18m30s
"'Exist For Love' is the 1st love song I ever wrote. But as most of my songs, it has a much larger and deeper meaning than just love between 2 individuals.
I believe that love is one of the strongest forces we have on this planet and in us people, and I believe that once we learn true, pure and unselfish love, we are reminded of why we exist, and I think we understand why we are here once we learn that, that kind of pure love exist, which is quite beautiful. And I love many things....and many people."

In the last 30 years I have not been as captivated by an Artist...until her.
Have not bought an album ..newly released in past 20.
But yet. I pre ordered her last album....drove 400 miles to see her show.
I do like her deeper voice, or when she becomes a little aggressive.
Under the water. Soft Universe, Hunger etc.

I've listened to this song easily 50 times since it came out.....tho I could say that for any of her songs.
But I only just now really honed in on the guitar line that opens the song and carries throughout.
Something about it is so beautiful. It has this plucked orchestral feeling....but then these occasional upward slides as well. Those slides.....are just gorgeous. It somehow _perfectly_ conveys the emotion....of falling in love.

I’m 66 and I fell down the Aurora rabbit hole 7 years ago, since then I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Aurora live 3 times in concert,I can honestly say that no one has ever moved my emotions like her, plus she is without doubt the best live performer I’ve ever seen and trust me I’ve seen scores of artists live over the years.what I love about Aurora is that she has never craved to become a mainstream artist she has always stayed true to herself and what she believes music should be all about her catalog of songs written by her from the age of nine are more than outstanding each one is filled with lyrics that makes you think deeply about life and the world we live in,it’s easy to see why as a young girl she was influenced by Bob Dylan and Lenard Cohan both great wordsmiths in the art of songwriting, she calls her songs her little children and when she performs you visually see the love she has for them.yes for me she is the essence of what the art of music should be all about and I’m so blessed to have her words of poetry her words of medicine her little children in my life.❤️

It's fascinating how so many of her songs are high end art. There are still many of her "children" to explore.
How about "A different kind of human" next at Somewhere Else Festival. It was quite special because of covid times. But Aurora made a virtue of necessity.

Hello and thank you for this great reaction. Hollywood or Disney can't do a music video like this any better. This song is an extreme of AURORA - but a very, very nice extreme. The range of songs on AURORA is already very large.
The following two videos are also more cheerful and make you happy.
    - Queendom (Official Video) - th-cam.com/video/wULeXeQkqd0/w-d-xo.html - about her queendom??
    - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - th-cam.com/video/I3dvC4tDI3s/w-d-xo.html - "warriors for love"
    Interviewer:
One of the songs that you played here and the world is going to and may already know of this, is Queendom.
    AURORA:
    Queendom
    Interviewer:
    Man, that sounded so good!
    AURORA:
Ok, thank ... I mean ... yes, yes, nice, what do I say? Thank you?"
    Interviewer:
You don't need to say anything, it's a statement. My question is: How and where did that song came about? Did you write it in a certain situation? What... how to come about for you?
    AURORA:
Well, it has been - you know - it’s been a tough time to be a woman for like the last thousand years on this planet and these two last years I feel it specially we’ve had such good focus - you know - on what we can improve in our society in the way we - you know - behave and we also we think, that - you know - we deserve and what we know and should know that we deserve. So it’s a good time - you know - for women and Queendom kind of began as that, just the title that I thought, if I had a world like a kingdom, than - you know - what would that be like and then of course it’s Queendom then, because I’m not a man, surprise. But it’s about many things. It’s also more than about feminism, is about - you know - everything that’s alive, about animals, the planet which I love and about - you know - gay pride and about, it’s about everything that needs to be seen.
    Interviewer:
Now, if that message could be put in everybody’s brain, the world would be a hundred percent better. Which is true, which is true.“
    (th-cam.com/video/Io4hFGg4904/w-d-xo.html - 24.04.2018)
„“Warrior“ is kind of about what I… what I kind of think is the meaning of a humans live, it’s… is to be kind to other humans. You know, in the verse I say „I can’t recall last time I opened my eyes and saw the world as beautiful“. And iit’s kind of about being a bit… not disappointed, but I guess a bit like, the more you grow and the more you realized how many dark sides live contains and the world and people and it can be - you know - it’s a very sad thing that we are doing all this sad things against each other and that’s kind of the song is about.“
    (th-cam.com/video/uZUPdo6uJDI/w-d-xo.html - 2016-02-19)
„I have my own language. I started making my own language when I was this ‚guerreirinha’ [= warrior girl], when I was little, little warrior I started making my own language, because… which I spoke to with my imaginary friends, which didn’t have much use, ’cos they were imaginary friends. But then I just kept it for myself for a little while and then... now I want to kind of use it more in my music and it has letters. There is an alphabet, which you will understand in the future ... Hmmm. But there is an alphabet, but is not… is secret still, is only for me. But the language is very emotional, like one word doesn’t really have one spezific meaning, but with… together with melody it has a meaning and it can change towards you feel it should mean - you know - could be what every you need it to be.“

I can recommend 2 very different songs:
Would you like to hear a completely different AURORA? Then check out these songs. AURORA songs are somehow always different from the others, but I think these two are special.
You wouldn't expect anything like that from AURORA. At least I think so.
    - Apple Tree - th-cam.com/video/AvPzwKQKZTc/w-d-xo.html
--> "Apple Tree is about the potential that hides in all of us. We can all save the world if we put our minds to it. The world won't listen to scientific proof that the world is dying, so maybe it will listen to the dreamers, the children. In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. Let her save the world. Let him save them all. Believe in us, and maybe we'll be the generation that saves the world, rather than the one that killed it."

I think some of her songs maybe somber, and have a message many need to hear which is a positive thing.

Nice 😊At first this was a bit to sugary sweet for my taste, but over time it's grown on me. I quite like it now, and some of the versions with just her and piano/guitar are great.
She's very emotional/emphatic, and started writing songs to process things bothering her, so there's a reason many of her songs are dark. She's more playful and "poppier" on her latest album, but the lyrics are usually deep and meaningful.

It's the same for me, and I read several times the same sort of thing in some comments of other videos (and others of her songs). Talking about a kind of growth inside us is rather strange, but it's really it. Even now when I watch it, a "part of my brain" tells me "Jo, it won't be possible to listen to this to the end, it's too much out of our tastes", but these words vanish, no orders are sent to the hand to stop the song, and in the end, there's only enjoyment. That's crazy, but well, so be it...
