If you could grade 1 Duel Masters card, what would you grade? Would you grade something to add value or grade your favorite card so it can be encased and stay in your personal collection? I look forward to seeing your comments!
Hi as someone else said in the comments would you mind making a grading PSA tutorial....i am from Romania in Europe it is posible for us to grade them in Europe? also how much does it cost in USA to grade DM cards? when i go to PSA site it says 150$ per cards at tcg grading page...but it seems way off
Well, I wouldn't grade any card to add something like value because I think it's neither relevant nor good for the actual price evolution of DM, but maybe would grade my favourite card for my personal collection. - Loui
Thus the reason I graded the Cowboy Bebop card! As a TCG player, I am sad that I don't have english cards of so many of the cool cross-over cards Duel Masters has done over the years! Some of my other favorites are the Megaman Battle Network card, the Kirby Cards and the Monopoly man on a card!
Congrats on PSA10 Bajula and Dolba! They will be worth a lot of money some day! Of course you could say they are worth tons of money already, but it depends on what do you think is "a lot of money" hahaha :D Great video! Keep them coming!
Yeah it's a nice thing. As an avid fan of the TCG it saddens me many cards are so expensive. It makes it hard for a competitive TCG player to get the cards needed for top tier decks. Good luck getting 4 soulswaps or many other hard to get/expensive cards. But yeah I do think some of those nostalgia and well known cards will sell well. Thanks for watching!
Nice, so many 10s and so much value in those cards. I have started to see PSA 10 listings on Ebay for cards like Rothus the Traveler (rare and foil), Thorny Mandra, and Gigagiele, so that trend is beginning to take hold. Although I also feel like they're tryna make a quick buck...or maybe they're ahead of the game
I do think you should be selective on what you grade. I saw someone on eBay grade a DM01 Death Smoke. It's PSA 10, but who is paying for that? I think it's best to grade only most desirable cards versus every card. I don't think any DM fans will follow what some pokemon collectors do and try to get PSA 10s for an entire set. This video has aged well though, some Duel Masters PSA cards have sold for high value.
So when I graded 25 cards through the slowest service, I paid roughly $313 between shipping there and back and grading each card. So that breaks down to about $12.50 per card. Whenever you pay for a higher shipping service, every card costs more. So if you don't mind waiting, you are better off submitting many cards at a slow speed versus fast. You can do Express too through, but the price is much higher per card.
I don't see PSA grading of DM cards as a thing. Sure it could be cool to have a PSA 10 of your favorite or an iconic card. But other than that, no. 1) It's "too late". Grading DM cards hasn't been a thing in the past so such cards aren't already available. And due to clouding and warping of DM cards, and especially due to heavy amount of playing, not many have PSA 10 tier cards in their collections. And the non existent supply of unopened products means cards in such condition rarely appear. Meaning there isn't enough product to fuel the PSA hype. 2) Huge portion (if not the majority) of DM collectors aren't form USA. Meaning grading for them in general isn't A) cheap/available B) part of the TCG culture. It doesn't make much sense to grade something if the shipping costs, grading and taxes cost more than the card itself. 3) DM cards are mainly bought for playing. Sure, many of us have the collection of one of each different card. But besides that, people are buying the cards for their decks. Unlike Pokemon where mostly only the modern product is played and rest goes to collections. I don't see anyone going for PSA 10 or 9 complete DM set. So the collection pieces should fit to a binder like the rest of the collection.
Thanks for your message! So here is my thoughts: 1.) Part of the things you mentioned is why I think some cards that get PSA 10 will be worth so much more. Its going to only be a small market of collectors who are looking for them. Lack of available cards to grade will only drive the prices for those cards that get super high grades. Grading cards is not for the normal competitive TCG players, but for the big time collectors. The players want the cards for duels, the collectors want those iconic cards for the increasing value of cards and because highly graded cards will be scarce. Bolmeteus used to go for $50 on average years ago. It goes easily over $200 now. Many high tier cards have followed that trend. 2.) There have been others who have graded cards so I feel if its important enough to someone, they will grade regardless where they are. Although the import fees and taxes many countries pay is absurd. For living in the US, I never had to deal with that problem, but those problems have affected a ton of my international transactions. You would have to inspect your cards very closely to not have many come back 8 or below, because as you said its not worth a ton then. You have to factor all your costs versus potential amount you can make for high grades. 3.) I do find it improbable anyone would ever want a complete PSA 10 DM set. That would be insanely hard because of lack of cards and resources used. A reason why I will only be grading big time cards, I don't see any reason to grade non-iconic cards. I appreciate your input! I always love a big discussion on where the game is going and changes seen over the years!
In my opinion grading duel masters cards is worth only if you have high value cards like yours bajula, abzo, bolshack etc which may be potentially psa10 or at least psa9 otherwise its waste of money because i dont think someone would pay more than card price + grading price and shipping for cards like psa 8 niofa or something like that.
I agree completely. Games like Pokemon where people grade every card, I don't think would do well in Duel Masters. But those iconic cards, I think they will have a market with collectors.

@@diabolicaldrew3920 yeah but you can always buy JP for much lower price and still have competitive deck :)
lmao i would grade my essence elf. this cards condition is way worse than poor. i had it in my pockets as a kid and my mother washed it :D
Nice, I think we will see more psa grading for duel masters in the future when people get tiring playing with physical cards
