If you work in the field like a cable technician ,lines-man,construction worker. etc.
You cannot escape the cold weather.
In the military if you are an infantryman,you will operate in the cold weather.
I have visited Fort Campbell, Kentucky ( Home of the 101st Airborne Division)a couple of times. I served in the United States 🇺🇸 Army from 2001-2009. My first duty station was Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Deployed to Iraq 🇮🇶 three times.
When I was first deployed in 2003 during “ Operation Iraqi Freedom “ in Kuwait 🇰🇼 and Iraq 🇮🇶, married soldiers were messing up other married soldiers whilst their spouses are at bases ( in the USA 🇺🇸) . Saw many marriages crumbled, soldiers shot other soldiers when they redeployed.

I have lived in Yankeeland for five decades. I am now retired. I just have to encourage the youth or those who have ambition to come to America to first aim for education or learn a trade. Unfortunately in our society (Ghana particularly) we have no respect for people with hand skills (Nsano adwuma). Trust me, here in America people with hand skills earn more than college graduates. I am not against brain power, of course. I myself I am a retired software engineer.
Lastly stay away from bad influences. When I was a little boy there was a saying ….”show me your friends and I will show you your character”. In addition be honest, truthful & work towards your goal. You will achieve your goal. There’s no easy path to success, unless of course u happen to come from a rich family. In history, even fortunes have been lost because of bad management. Good Luck.

First of all, as a US army wife of 15yrs, I am offended by that misleading headline. Open relationship is not limited to military marriage and you cannot use that narrative to describe the US army. Secondly, any spouse who is consumed by being layed has not experienced real army life. When you have your husband (infantry man ) in the Frontline dodging bullets, sex is not what you think about, what you think about is if he will come home alive. Finally, did I hear this woman say cold weather is only 3 months amd you only spend 10 secs to walk to your car? She is really out of touch with reality. She has never walked 20mins in 13 inches snow to go take the subway and the bus. Bless her heart. She spoke her reality

Pleassss... the military is one of the low to standard incomes proffessions and not what she's saying. That's why most people do not like to join the military unless they do not make it to college. So this is completely wrong. She's also stretching lots of the thing she's saying.

In as much as you stay positive and think of the positive side, let me also entreat you to also think of the negative side of the military especially; Death or permanent Injury or PSTD ( which leads to suicide). The current crop of Soldiers are lucky that the US is not in war times so one can think less about death . And the branch of service is also a factor . Army is somehow generally safe . But can't say same of Marines and Airforce. And then again, your Trade is also a factor. If you are an Infantryman ( Gunnery or Combat - Riffle ) , you think 90% of the time about death if you ain't born to do it . Wife sharing among Soldiers or Cockold or Gangbang or threesome or foursome is a normal thing.
