the All About Lily Chou-Chou sample at the very beginning shows he has flawless taste in movies as well.
It's pretty cool how the album cover for this track/album is a drawing recreated from a Lily Chou-Chou scene as well.
Think the artist got heavily impacted to this movie and adding to that inspiration from the movie, they look like they are emotionally not good the moment you look up for lyrics.

Last winter, the day before I went back to school, I went to a friend's house and had a few awkward moments because I'm gay and they kept putting down other people who are the same as me (they don't know my sexuality). After the meeting, I got in my car and put on this album that they had recommended to me. From the moment I heard this song, I knew that this year would be different, and it was. I've met new people since then who love me for who I am and I don't have to lie to them. Thank you parannoul, asian glow and sonhos tomam for giving me courage.

But indeed, I listen to Parannoul still, and quite like some of the tracks, like growing pain and white ceiling, he made me appreciate his new genre. Though I must admit: I'm still struck moreso by his earliest works :)
And also, I donnow if I could ever be called a fan, even today. Since talking to Parannoul after his return, I've come to regret not having done more and felt like I hadn't done enough or supported him enough to be called a proper fan. I didn't have any means to support him then, but I feel like I could've engaged with him and promoted him more. I was kinda shy and didn't know how to interact with someone I held in high regard, and I had no previous exposure to any fan culture. So, I just didn't know.
We chatted through his channel's comment section - like just now :D - and I praised him in some other, obscure, post-rock oriented channels' comment sections, and that was about it. He also then had a blog I remember(?) and I might have checked that, I think. I was nearly always the first to comment on his videos I remember.
Now, those things are great memories, but they don't feel enough to be called a fan now.
For some time, I clang on to the impression that it seemed like only I had one of his least-listened albums, and that meant I was a proper fan, but that has somehow been uploaded to TH-cam. Now I have no special privileges :d
Anyways, I don't know whether all this rambling was warranted or not, but that's how I've been feeling. Long story short: yeah, I still like his stuff even though he's changed his style quite a bit.

This is the kind of music that makes me want to run around my city and explore.
The melody I can’t get out of my head especially.. I come back to this song every once in a while. Sometimes I forget about it and shuffle my playlists and there it is.. this is such a good song i really like it. I usually play it when reading (ur probably wondering how is that possible ?? if it’s such a loud song) sometimes I can be very concentrated in my books okay☝️
Anyways I decided to look for a live version of this but saw the mv instead and saw a translation of it on this comment section. This made me realize how deep this song really is. All this time I could hear how strong it really is especially during this part 4:19 - 4:30 But knowing the lyrics DAMN it hits different. I didn’t realize how much I resonate with this. Definitely describes how I feel about my life at the moment. I will never forget this album! Deserves so much recognition.

i just recently watched all about lily chou chou, and was going through a random playlist on Spotify when I came to this gem. The way the dialogue correlates to the whole essence of the film is so beautiful. Art gives birth to art. And this is what shinji iwai's films did to beautiful world.
