I had watched my father play this game, as I had watched him play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. I will never forget the time we spent together, figuring out quests and puzzles. Its too bad that I can't hear this theme now, since Hordes of the Underdark is the last expansion, and that BioWare has released v1.69, the last and very final patch to Neverwinter Nights. But this theme will always give me tears and goosebumps of nostalgia. Thank you for this great game, BioWare!
+Steve No be fair, DA:O was a damn good game, not quite to the epic score of Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale or even this game (IMO) but was still engaging and entertaining RPG where you could (almost) be who you wanted to be... say... unlike now days where a certain post apocalyptical "RPG" is the benchmark :\
+CCODEZ I know, but I do miss the classes and races from the d&d based games a lot. Also, it may be just nostalgia, but the musical scores for nwn's base game and hotu were impeccable.
+Steve NWN has much more gameplay content (though kind of hard to enjoy now due to its clunkiness), DA:O has actual characters and much more story (and a far more interactive plot too). Between the two I'll take DA:O any day of the week, NWN is a linear experience with no emotional connection and nothing going for it but combat really. Like a more linear Baldur's Gate but with much better gameplay/far more gameplay content. Even DA:O is a lot more complex than today's RPGs like hack and slash Witcher with its severe lack of actual role-playing, or its latest successor Inquisition which has no skills system (though still has the interactivity). If you want the best of both worlds then that would be Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. Or Planescape: Torment though it lacks the race choice and only has three classes, although I'm sure you know this already, and the story is worth those sacrifices. These two plus Fallout 2 are the real benchmark RPGs.
Man, if all you know about NWN is the single player experience you SEVERELY missed out. the multiplayer/roleplay community was unique and incredible. To this day the only RPG where people actually roleplayed because everyone took it seriously (in years of playing never once ran across a troll), on persistent world servers with evolving story lines thanks to DM clients. I do agree that the single player experience wasn't the best. But multiplayer.. omg
Andreas Michael Design Yeah, I do know what the MP is like. It's still played to this day, as is NWN 2 MP. Not sure how good the community is though but it's so separate from the rest of the gaming industry, I imagine they still take it seriously.
The best game I've ever played, nothing comes anywhere near it for me. Hearing this theme song brings up years of roleplaying with people all around the world. I'm gonna go cry now
I remember the days of playing this without sound as a kid. I had a computer that simply had no sound peripherals, not even in the monitor. I didn't even know this had sound. Then a couple of years after that, we had speakers. I launched Neverwinter Nights as I normally did, and then I heard this. I hear this now and I feel a tear in my eye remembering that moment. I am still yet to beat this game, I only got to Chapter 2, and the Diamond Edition has sooo much content! Great game and company!

I played this game when I was 15 years old. I still look back on it as one of the greatest RPG games ever made. This is one of the very few games that actually entirely sucked me in.
such an amazing game i played it so much better than NWN2
I had watched my father play this game, as I had watched him play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. I will never forget the time we spent together, figuring out quests and puzzles. Its too bad that I can't hear this theme now, since Hordes of the Underdark is the last expansion, and that BioWare has released v1.69, the last and very final patch to Neverwinter Nights. But this theme will always give me tears and goosebumps of nostalgia. Thank you for this great game, BioWare!
can't believe rpgs like this have been replaced with ones like dragon age: origins
I'm gonna go cry now
this game never die
Your profile picture will always get my attention idk why. You can have the bad guy s face for real in a DnD game
what an absolute masterpiece the soundtrack and the entirety of the game is
This brings so many memories... Jeremy Soule never disappoints
Jeremy Soul - genius!
I was sad to end this game ... old games have a twist like treasure at the bottom
still playing the game,it will never die, to complex, like this great piece of music!! it only should have lasted longer, like the game. thanky for sharing!!
