I love my gen3 1290r evo, but i would happily embrace the beast with a good bit more BHP that translated to 4th gear power wheelies, i still want a '1490r' 210+rwhp. (versus 165rwhp for gen3) I know could appreciate that BHP for power wheelies at 4th at 130mph, it is meant for hooligans afterall 🤷♂. Can't say everyone would think the same, but i'd happily pay more for a even higher perfomance motor 🛠 The duke is the best bike still. However for me it would be even more fun making the 4th gear/higher speeds still pull like some of the newer model sportbikes.

I had a brief chat with the owner of a daily-ridden TTS-supercharged Hayabusa the other night. It sounded like a lot of fun and I would absolutely be in jail or dead if I owned one

One reasoning I heard is that it’s easier to meet new Euro6 emissions regulations. For the same performance specs, a larger engine will be tuned less aggressively when compared to a smaller engine. I do agree though, if I were in the market for a new bike, I wouldn’t be asking for more power. I’m perfectly happy with the power from my 950SM. It’s plenty

Remember when KTM canned the RC8 because their boss said sportbikes are getting too extreme and KTM was more into real-world everyday bikes. Glad to see they're sticking to that philisophy :D Such a sick bike! :D
all their marketing is based around like street racey childish boy brained nonsense. this is why I'd never buy anything from them. it's obnoxious. and the colors are gross. no thanks. I'll stick to a grown up Honda or BMW. do you really need to have someone doing a wheelie and mention the word "gymkhana" in every advertisement? it's utterly cringe worthy.
As a fan and owner of beautiful Italian motorcycles for 15 years, I want to say: All SD changes have been waiting for a long time! The headlight is super! Please let one of the coloring options be NOT ORANGE! And then, many V2 fans, like me, with Ducati SF, will gladly switch to this beast!

Ugly to the point of horror, and this is the opinion of all aesthetes. They should have left it a long time ago. The naked should be elegant and attractive. They finally got it) And before I really like this more aggressive style of SD
@@dimitry1121 To each their own, I’m happy with the styling with my black 2020. I’ll tell you though, that dark Ducati street fighter s 23-24 has me looking. But every time I think about selling or trading my SDR, I go for a ride and reminded why I love it.

KTM has the entire street rider bike thing figured out. They have amazing, high touque bikes, great racing teames, and perfect marketing.
if KTM invest 10% of their attention on the quality control and after sales experience (owning a new KTM so I'm talking from my personal experience) as they invest in the marketing and videos...their bikes would be stellar...
Too bad they're totally unreliable, otherwise I'd probably buy one.

My Dream Bike was Kawasaki Z900 but after this launch it get changed to Duke 1390. The Design is LIT 🔥

I was really curious to see the RC990. The 1390 is no surprise.
The 1290 superduke, too many versions in too short a time since 2020 :
- 1290R gen3 in 2020 (the one I have).
- 1290RR first limited production in 2021.
- Brabus 1300 first limited production in 2022.
- 1290R evo in 2022.
- 1290RR second limited production in 2023 ( the only one I might want).
- Brabus 1300 second limited production in 2023.
- 1390R 2024.
- 1390R evo 2024.
What's next? A 1390RR & Brabus 1400 at the end of 2024 ????
If only it had a V4 engine in it.
Anyway, I'm keeping my 2020.
As for the video itself, well it's fun but it doesn't have the same effect as the marketing video for the 1290 prototype from 2014.
One good point though, in my opinion, the headlight really does look better on the 1390 than on the 990 Duke, the proportions of the bike are more harmonious on the 1390 (on the 990 the bike looks massive on the tank/seat and headlight combination but with small wheels).
I really don't want to buy one or the other, but if I have to choose, for me the 1390 looks better, but I'm talking purely in terms of design.

Twin cilinder engines are really popular with manufacturers these days, since their cheaper to manufacture and offer significant power for their size and displacement. Also I don't think KTM is going to produce a commercially available V4 engine any time soon, since that requires a major manufacturing process overhaul. But I wouldn't rule it out either, because V4's are my holy grail. And KTM also produces a V4 for their MotoGP bikes if i recally correctly.
@@XcelentTom. ktm had the v4 engine since 2004 in moto gp when they were supplier for proton kr team, and produce a v4 engine for road, if it is so expensive why they gave all the data to cfmoto which are working on a superbike?
I have many twins bike (rc8r, superduke 1290r, super adventure 1290), but when the competitors like ducati didn t built sport bike with the twins, i think that ktm have to do also that
I bought a 23 evo b/c I was worried they were going to a V4. I love the sound of the V4's, but I wanted the legendary LC8. I am glad I have a Gen 3. I am not convinced with the cam stuff on the new one, and I don't care for the headlight.
Other than the license plate bracket and aftermarket pipe , is this the exact bike you get or are there other differences

I had a 1290R 2022 full spec, biggest problem was not the engine...biggest problem was the to short wheelbase, it wheelie'd every where and there for the bike was "slow" out of the corner. so make the bike longer so it doesnt wheelie that much. So looks 10 out of 10, ride is 6,5 out of 10.
but its it fun to wheelie, at end of the day we ride for fun right? unless its moto gp race😅

So much better than a sportbike for most people who want a powerful machine. I've tried all the fastest sportbikes and it's fun and all of that, it's just that for roaduse the sportbikes is just a pain because 100mph is still just plain cruising. Big burly hooligan bikes are so much more fun, and it's the Suzuki B-King back in the day that got my taste for it. I remember rolling up and into a petrol station one's and people just asked me about what it was, almost like they had seen a ghost lol.
Anyhow, that Duke is something you will more easily have fun on than any sportbike, that's for sure.

210 rwhp is only possible with a superbike 4 cylinder engine and like 15000 rpm , and that goes very much against what the SDR is about. SDR will never have top end of supersports. I would also dream about a hyperduke, but I would just order even more displacement and higher TQ figures so it can power wheelies in 4th and pull harder even at elevation. But this 1390 looks interesting.

KTM always do banging adverts for the Super Dukes and I had a feeling it was Rok riding in the ads. He has sick riding skills and it's the riding in these ads that is the big selling point in my opinion. But the reality is, we ain't pulling off the shit he's doing haha
