  • This book follows Miss Emily Wilde, a Cambridge Professor, who specializes in the study of faeries. She is currently busy researching her latest project, the first-ever encyclopaedia of fairy lore which takes her to a remote Scandinavian Island to study “the hidden ones”, a mysterious race of faes who have rarely been recorded. There’s just one problem, when Emily reaches Hrafnsvik her socially awkward ways deter the townsfolk from detailing their encounters with the fae, thus in turn hindering Emily’s research. To make matters more difficult, Wendell Bambleby, a fellow Cambridge scholar and somewhat rival, arrives to join Emily in her expedition and to her annoyance, the villagers instantly take to his charming ways.
To add to this, People are being taken by the high faeries into their enchanting otherworld.
As Emily gets closer and closer to uncovering the secrets of the Hidden Ones-the most elusive of all faeries-lurking in the shadowy forest outside the town, she also finds herself on the trail of another mystery: Who is Wendell Bambleby, and what does he really want? Emily begins to suspect that Bambleby knows more about the fae than he is letting on and there may be an unconventional reason for that.
A Cozy Fantasy with low stakes, light romance, enchanting atmosphere, and easy-to-love characters.
