We NEED to talk about Barcelona fans........
They have little to no patience, easily get riled up by rival fans, keep changing their stances every week & forget the past too easily. They could learn a thing or two from Liverpool fans.

Spot on, when are we gonna learn that sacking coaches every year isn't gonna get us back to prime barca all of a sudden. There was valverde, then qique, koeman, and now xavi and everybody shout "xavi out! " As if the next coach is gonna be any better. I respect arsenal precisely because they trust arteta and it pays off

Some fans, not all. The most demanding fans in the world are Madridistas but it doesn't seem as bad due to them getting results. The president of the league supports them, the President of the club has run them pretty well for decades so things are done properly.
We as a club rose up after so much Madrid supremacy to have La Masia such an integral part of our future ahead of galacticos transfers and signings were only made to either compliment are style and philosophy or help steer it in a positive direction. Things changed more drastically with Bartomeu. It seemed more as if the goal was to replicate Madrids methods rather than our own. Look at it like the MCU and how they spent time building up to Avengers and how DC tried to rush everything right out of the gate. It caused a lot of issues. Enrique left then we got Valverde. Yes he got results but we didn't like the style of play. It felt alien to us. There were also so many needless transfers that seemed either politically charged or for hidden agendas. Iniesta goes to Vissel Kobe randomly which felt influenced by Rakuten, we spent 50m on Paulinho who although ended up doing well, was sold for the same amount straight away. We brought in KP Boateng, Denis Suarez and bunch more. We spent a crazy amount on Dembele after basically a season of form instead of getting a player like Chukweze, we got Coutinho and Griezmann despite both not being able to play in their proper positions due to Messi with the latter publicly rejecting us on Spanish TV. We got a manager that a lot of fans including myself were so happy for in Quique Setien but he didn't get the backing of the board, players were allowed to bully him into them deciding things and that's how Bayern 8-2 happened and he was sacked for it. Bartomeu gave trash players insane contracts so not only were they burning our pockets, we couldn't sell them to anyone wanting them. They didn't play for the badge anymore and you could see it. Messi was opposed to how the club was being run and Bartomeu instead of stepping down like he should've years prior, made promises to him that he broke, leaked Messis contract and his dealing with the club ultimately left us in such a bad situation that Messi was forced to leave due to La Ligas restrictions. Many Barca fans are plastic and many Socios could've helped prevent a lot of these things by calling for a vote of no confidence years before but when Laporta came and Xavi came shortly after, we were hopeful. Coming into this season, we were filled with confidence. But then dumb things started happening, Eze Abde who we finally recalled was given no proper confidence and with Dembele leaving, you'd think we'd try to do our best to keep him and Ansu but no, we let all 3 go. Yes we have Yamal and Ferran but Dembele was our most dangerous attacker since Messi left and Abde/Fati had the ability to really open up a defence if given time to settle. Alba left and we got no backup LB (Alonso doesn't count). Lewa had been shaky since the WC and was never replaced or benched when he performed poorly which hurt the team. The defence all of a sudden started playing badly especially when Kounde and Araujo swapped from RCB to RB. So many injuries happened including MATS. Players stopped playing with passion. If Xavi addressed some of these things properly, we wouldn't have minded as much but especially with Lewandowski, fans got tired because we put our hope into him and had nothing to show for it. Random games we'll perform and it's like we forget to not get complacent. So many issues and I've left so many things out such as 4-0 Liverpool, Tebas vs Barca, the Negreira case, UCL disappointments and a lot more. All of this is tiring and we could even be losing Araujo to Bayern in the summer

What we really need to do is invest in a world class CDM profile (Kimmich, Palhinha or Florentino Luis) to protect our goal. Our performances wouldn't be studied under such a microscope if we didn't concede as much we're doing right now. Remember we won scrappy 1-0 games last year all the time but we WON. Ter stegen returning would be an improvement over the current scenario but the back four needs protection and fast because Mbappe is coming soon....

A striker is supposed to get in those places and even if he doesnt always finish those chances he is still a great striker even right now, i think the problem Lewa and Barca are facing right now is the referees and not so much just the players not performing all the time, just the fact that Lewandowski has that high of an xG proves that he is still one of the best strikers around and shouldnt be doubted because wherever he is he will make a comeback by the end of the year just like how Ronaldo made a comeback in 2023, as you saw even with less xG to goals Lewa was still the best scorer from 2017 to 2024

I strongly believe that lewandowski has it in him still but i believe there are two problems, one barca fans killed him after a few matches and this started at the start of 2023 when he came back from the world cup. The other is even though barca create a lot of chances they aren't really concrete. Barca wingers shoot crosses but most of the time they never go to a single player. They cross without ever raising their head to see where the striker is. I see lewandowski match after match making runs and never gets the ball. You want a striker to do well work with his runs don't just kick the ball and hope he gets there.

That’s on Xavi to create an attacking system that gets him the ball. Right now it seems to be the opposite. The ball seemingly never goes Lewas way. I hate when people try to rewrite history whenever a player is out of form, after being so good for so long. A prime example is Robert Lewandowski, many of us see him as one of the greatest strikers in football history and rightfully so as his track record for club and country speak for itself, but by his standards, it's a down year for him. I agree that it makes sense to slander him because he's not playing well, he isn't scoring a lot, it seems like age has caught up with him, underperformed his expected goals by a lot this season and he seems to blame other factors for his slump, like Xavi's tactics, teammates not passing him the ball enough and he also has one of the worst body languages I've ever seen from a player, his attitude isn't right, yet every time he has a bad performance, misses a lot of chances and Barcelona end up dropping points, we all blame Xavi for this.
A lot of people believe that in the striker position, he should be dropped to the bench, no matter how he plays, he'll keep starting, he scored in yesterday's game meaning that Xavi won't bench him for the next game. Overall, he doesn't fit the way this team plays and yes strikers are responsible for scoring goals, but playing on Barcelona requires you to be involved in the buildup play, and that's not how he plays and as a result of that, he can be a passenger in games, because when he's not scoring, he's not doing anything to help the team and he often has some loose touches and questionable passes. Recently, prior to this injury crisis that they're facing up top, Xavi was finally subbing him off when he didn't play well and at the start of the season, he basically had an unwritten rule for Lewandowski stating that no matter how bad he played, he was gonna start no matter what and regardless of performance, he was hardly even getting subbed off in his career and last season, Xavi would never do something like that and many of us believed he would be benched by now, but is still starting. He can start games, but he can't finish 90 minutes every game. Fans also want him sold to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season and I don't know what's gonna happen with Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona next season because his future at the club depends on who comes in as their next manager. At the time they signed him, he was the best striker in the world and last season he delivered with a lot of goals, at the time they brought him in he was 33 years old, he's 35 now and he was obviously a short term solution for Barcelona and you can see how much he's struggling and with him about to be 36 this summer, I don't expect him to be their first choice striker in the next 2 years and developing Victor Roque is important and giving Marc Guiu more chances because we know they won't sign Mbappe or Haaland, they also don't have the money to go out and buy guys like Victor Osimhen Ivan Toney Ollie Watkins Lautaro Martinez Alexander Isak etc, because Barcelona have to rely on the sources they have at their disposal. 10 goals in the champions league and La Liga, 14 goals in all competitions at this stage of a season, many of us feel like that this is one of his worst seasons in a long time and from September to November, his drought of 6 games without a goal was the longest goalless streak since 2010 which was 14 years ago and that tells you just how good he's been for a long time and how it hasn't happened for him this season for many reasons and I wonder what's gonna happen to him after this season.

I agree with all of everything you said except that the 9 needs to be involved in the build up. Every time ferran and vitor played up top this season we found very good chances at goal and that is no question because they are runners they are looking to expose the spaces in behind or in the final third while lewy has been dropping to deep and occupying spaces that others look for. All of our midfield starting three at the moment have the technical ability to the put the ball on a needle in behind (gundo, pedri, fdj) so not maximizing their talent has been affecting us. Lewandowski jus doesn’t fit the system and is aging ferran and vitor show youth through the middle

In Bundesliga there's more space given than almost any other league, in La Liga there's always a personal mark, and defenders have had almost 20 years of trying to adapt to locking the space Messi creates, La Liga is a bad matchup for Lewandowski once they figured him out after his first season

I don't think it's age that's is problem.Hes downgraded a lot on finishing, ball control, positioning and other factors for a striker.Sometimes he needs service, but obviously getting it from wingers like raphinha,Ferran and joao felix won't always deliver.I think it's just a drop in form and I still do think he can perform better again despite his age.Hes not like Suarez, unlike him lewa needs service to deliver (like haaland). What made Suarez better than lewa is that Suarez could do everything even after ageing.Suarez was still able to score by himself dribbling through defenders or even assist others. But lewa,he's just not like him.I believe he can comeback

Even though roque has elite movement and is a natural space finder there is no way he and lewandowski can both operate centrally. Felix would be a much better option as he provides much better linkup and finds similar spaces to roque. the only problem is playing felix with only two natural midfielders can’t work since we don’t have a world class cdm and that is one of the reasons why debruyne dominated towards the end of last season with halaand when he played as second striker instead of wide 8. Rodri took pressure off the midfield defensively while also setting tempo. ( gundo is a 8 not a 6 so everyone knows)

If a player can not perform they should not be starter player and xavi didn't do that . Midfielders are creating chances and he keeps wasting them
Lewa's bad performance and stegen's injury was what made xavi's tactics so bad and not working
Playing vitor is xavi's only option
And we as fans we must be patient with those youngsters

  • @milktea2422

I think everybody expected him to be 2018-2020 Lewandoski, but he’s like 34 now. Messi and Ronaldo and a few others have tricked us into thinking it was normal for players at 33-37 to be playing a pretty good level.
Unfortunately most players at 30-35 slow down tremendously. This is a normal decline for a top player. Maybe it shouldn’t be this rapid considering his skill set wasn’t or isn’t based off of athleticism and speed. But I think more people should understand it’s very hard for players to be like modric, Messi, or Ronaldo at 35. Winning the World Cup, getting to Ucl finals etc. that is abnormal, it’s not regular.
But yeah, I think it was expected for him to be Bayern Lewandoski, since his skills aren’t based off of speed and athleticism. And it’s crazy how steep his decline is.

i watch his game very closely. He had a stretch of few bad games but most of the criticism is way overboard. He's strugling when he's not getting the ball, than he gets frustrated, gets out of position starts forcing things. After watching Bayern for many years I'm shocked how many times in barca he's open in perfect position to score but he never gets the ball. Second thing is this Barca style . Slow build up and lack of good crosses in the box. I don't remeber a good in first tempo. Frankie is scared to make any risky pass, Yamal is mostly interested in dribling and shooting. Barca needs a strong coach to sort this team out
