Am I the only one thinking that Black Ops 1 & 2 had the most complete and well-thought-out story in Call of Duty's franchise? This stuff - whilst probably still full of holes of logic and contrivances - still played very interestingly, especially how it spliced into real history and conflicts. The multiplayer for BO 2 was pretty damn impressive as well.
That and mw to some extent it was a little messy because the main villian makarov was always shifted around in terms of importance. It was fine till they made shepherd the villian halfway through mw2 because then it took away from makarov the most then by mw3 they kinda realized their mistake but they ended up rushing it and sloppily finishing the ark they had built

What I loved about BO2 is the replayability. The campaign was awfully easy, but the choices you made during missions and different endings motivated me to replay the game 5 times. I personally liked BO1's campaign story wise, but BO2 was cutting it pretty close.

I think we accepted that black ops 2 was futuristic just because it maintained some aspects of what made the previous games good like boots on ground while implementing cool technology like the drones as kill streaks and some futuristic gear. Same would go with the story too, it may have been a little futuristic, but it was done so in a way that it didn’t overwhelm the players with too much tech as well as it keeping some sort of connection to the previous game being black ops 1. Such great thoughts came into this game.
He was also in black ops 1 when reznoz was in Vietnam city’s when it was gonna be taken over by the VC’s. Crosby was the guy who had trouble with the radio.

Obviously, he acts as one of your allies in this mission and is also present in Fallen Angel where he drives one of the escape vehicles. Later, he extracts Section off the Obama in Odysseus, and is shot in the arm by a Merc. Despite this, he is confirmed to have survived the events of the story.
Isnt it a bit odd that the game takes place between a second cold war between china and America in which Menedenez indirectly caused when we're entering one in real life?
Menendez directly caused the 2nd Cold War in game by taking out Chinese stock exchanges. But it is pretty cool how a game from 2012 predicted the tech and geopolitics that are occurring today.
Black Ops 1 & 2 were cod storytelling at its best because they knew not to take themselves too seriously. People like to say CoD is a soldier sim, but that's not true. CoD is a cheesy B action flick simulator. The campy dialogue and unrealistic fighting are THE WHOLE POINT. That's why I love the campaigns of Bo1 and Bo2. It's like you're the main character of a Tom Cruise movie.
