I love Scelsi's music! And the Ensemble Intercontemporain perfomed it brilliantly.

Mysterious, elegiac, monumental, more channeled through Scelsi than composed by him, this music almost exists outside normal time and space. Brilliantly conceived and executed by Pintscher, Tosi and the Ensemble Intercontemporain. Bravi!

This is one of the most convincing cases for Scelsi (or for that matter Venus) I've ever heard, bravo.

The music is very compact. One can sistinguish the voice of the violin solo, but the chamber orchestra is obviously written to prodiuce a global sound, not to let the listener differentiate the different lines. One can regret it since there is a great diversity of instruments. But such is the will of the composer.

Is it possible for audio systems to play music of this kind correct or it can sounds right only live? We always lose some details with music records, but maybe there is a music, that lose its main details in traslations?

You may be right. I have never heard Scelsi live, but having once heard a live performance of Morton Feldman, who is also a rather cryptic composer, I found it more approachable because it was an experience of which I was part, rather than listening to a recording.

Kirill Baranov do you enjoy something like Black Metal?... seriously, i hate to be trollish, but this kind of stupid question shows how much you tried to find an answer on your own, lazy petit bourgeois!

    • @voiceover2191
      @voiceover2191 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You have to ask yourself, why do you ask this question. Do you hope to find people that think this music is crap, just like you do or thinking that most people that will take the trouble to post here probably like it and therefore, let's troll some to get a rise? I think Scelsi was a genius and I know many people who will disagree, but who cares? Just find what moves you, what do you care what others like? But then again, we all know your question was completely disingenious and you weren't really looking for an answer.
I do not listen to Scelsi's music very often, as there is so much music to enjoy, but when I do, I'm all there, wrapped up in it.
Then again I consider Philip Glass to be making repetitive (pun intended) crap who hasn't written an original decent piece of music since Akhnaton or Koyaanisqatsi, but hey that's just my opinion. I know, there's millions that love his music, so what do I know.

@@RingOfRae hating to be trollish, just do not be trollish. In any case, any time. Be always serious and positive. I was serious, asking my stupid question. This music seems to me having another nature, than others mentioned. So I was not sure, if I should spend my time trying to understand it or it is impossible to me, because I do not have music degree and generally not gifted enough in music.
