I’ll say nothing much would change. I’m sorry if this is too long but; Tbh the Chinese industry is very different to the Korean industry. Cpop groups don’t rely entirely on the group like kpop groups do. They mostly focus on solo activities. Kpop groups are often marketed as a group for 7+ years and they do basically everything together. But cpop groups start doing solo activities within a year of debut. This is because there are just so much more solo opportunities than group opportunities. In China, there are no music shows to promote their song, variety shows mainly invite actors, variety shows often cast actors and single group members to be fixed members, brands often work with soloists and actors, sometimes only 1 or 2 members gets invited on a show, sometimes when they get invited to perform at big events they would cover popular songs instead. Hence why actors and soloists are insanely HUGE in China compared to cpop groups. It’s crazy because it’s the opposite in Korea, kpop groups are way more popular. Also, before BOYHOOD went on ASY, they were already doing a ton of solo activities. Xinhao was already a fixed member on a variety show, acted in a drama, did solo magazine photoshoots and even attended a social event by himself. Xinxi also acted in a drama, was invited to an award event by himself and also modelled at fashion shows. Junlan did solo photoshoots and was invited to perform solo at a ceremony. The group have also performed with missing members several times before so it’s not a big deal. To begin with BOYHOOD didn’t do much as a group besides fansign, performing at events and filming group content series. They mainly did solo activities so the final ASY won’t affect them that much. Also, TVB (producers of ASY) and YueHua have a pretty good relationship, so if YueHua wants BOYHOOD to have schedules together, they could compromise.
