This explanation and share of knowledge (converting gsm to lb) is very kine and helpful. I do appreciate your time and consideration of your subscribers.!
Very informative! It would help if the paper industry would consolidate terms (bond paper, presentation paper, printing paper, copy paper, text paper, index paper, cover, bristol, cardstock, etc.). It makes your head spin! Thanks for showing how you use each of your weights and giving us an explanation on why you do so. Much appreciated! Janet 💕
I do think it’s all a bit of silly marketing …. Just like face cream … they are all much the same but you find one that suits your needs and your budget x
@@Scrimpingmommy Exactly! And don't even get me started on craft supplies! How can they charge HUGE prices for things such as blending brushes, embossing paste, shimmer mists, embellishments, paper flowers, etc.?? I don't think they anticipated how many of us would find ways of buying alternatives or even better - making it ourselves! They don't call us "crafty" for no reason! 🤣🤣🤣 Janet 👍
Thanks for all the great info. Iv'e just started aesthetic journaling and trying to get materials together. Iv'e been printing beautiful things but only on 80 navigator, so it is far too thin for my backgrounds etc.. Thanks for the heads up on the card stock, this is what I need. 🙂💜💐🇬🇧
Great video thank you. Paper is one of those things that your always wondering which you should buy, and some of the paper recommendations are so expensive it’s not viable to craft with them it’s just too expensive.
Hi Amanda, I already buy the Navigator 120gsm! I’ve so rarely had the item recommended I’m proper happy at that!😂😂 I’ve never seen the 200gsm though or I’d have snapped it up, only one I’ve found on Amazon is a huge box of it, any tips where I can get it? We used to have a staples near but that sadly went a few years back to be replaced by a B&M, don’t get me wrong I love a B&M but we’ve loads of those around.😂xx
I don’t use a laser printer as the toner cartridges can be expensive . Mine is an inkjet Epsom eco tank costs very little to run it’s in my opinion the most economic x
Basic office paper is a term I used to explain I’m not defining what basic office paper is it can vary from paper company to paper company it’s nothing set in stone I’m giving average examples x
Yes I think it's a bit different for US... Standard copy paper is 20 or 24 lb. I use 32 lb for my journal pages. And card stock is 65 lb. Any thicker my printer won't accept.
@@thebrowndragonfly 24lbs (less than 50gsm) is bond weight paper, which is very light writing/correspondence paper... UK copy paper is around 80gsm, which is equivalent to the US text/book weight paper, a heavier weight for printing
I’m in the UK as I explained and did say in the video I get mine from Asda which is a supermarket … try willkos in U.K. or look on EBay . I can only suggest U.K. retailers as I explained x

Oooooh i needed this information. Helps me now to use compatible paper to project. Thanks Amanda🥰
Glad it helped x
Hello Amanda, I live in the US, I love Neenah 24 lb, it's my favorite to use. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for that will tell any USA folks who ask me for recommendations x
Excellent explanation Amanda…that’s what I use ( not tried the 200gsm) and been very happy with it, 💕
It’s great as saves time having to back things to make them stronger and yet not too thick for most printers xx
That’s really interesting, thank you x
Thank you so much for this video Amanda, I really found it helpful. Have a lovely evening sweetheart xx
Thank you gorgeous x
Thank you Amanda, this is really useful.🙂

Thanks for all this info Amanda 👍❤
Great explenation and learned so much! Thank you so much for sharing, take care x
Thank you Ann xx
I love navigator papers that’s what I use for printing but I use a much heavier 300gsm for structure stuff pages tags etc and cards of course x
My printer doesn’t like 300gsm but I use it for some stuff then layer images on x
@@Scrimpingmommy I have the same printer and I don’t print in 300gsm I use it as a base like you and layer x
Thank you so much hun love it that you have explained so well what you use and why x

Thank you for this information, just bought a navigator pack, 90 gsm. I saw a video from Joi de Fie where she mentioned that she used this.
Yeah it’s probably the best in U.K. I been using it years now and always recommend it x
Thanks for the explanation Amanda 🙂

What a beautiful journal and great video thank you
Thank you Diane x
Thank you Amanda, paper can be sooo confusing, but I understand now 😀 Very helpful

Yeah this one isn’t too bad if you can get it but comparable brands will be fine too so long as they say ultra smooth and ultra bright x
So helpful, thank you so much for sharing!❤
You are most welcome x
That’s also my fav brand of paper and I use compatible ink and get great results 👍
Thank you very much. Very useful information.🥰😊
Great informative video Amanda ❤️ thanks for sharing and happy crafting Hugs xx

Ty Amanda, I will have to try this. I’m using Colorchoice at the moment. Quite good but expensive. Ty for a really informative video. Xx😊
This is good for the money I won’t use anything else now x

I’m a bit confused… standard office copy paper in the US is 20lb / 75 gsm. According to the label on the packages.
