Look at what existential questions they were interested about. And compare them to these young ppl. Primitive language, primitive desires, primitive demands, illiteracy. In one word, homo economicus.

most people associate communism with Soviet Union but USSR has never been communist country, it was only one version of socialist state. truth is that we never seen communist state and we cannot imagine what is like. in our thoughts about communism we can only rely on some theoretical concepts. a communist society is characterized by common ownership of the means of production with free access to the articles of consumption and is classless, stateless, and moneyless, implying the end of the exploitation of labour. I think it's a very beautiful theory worth to be implied in real world.

I am Communist, Personnally, i respect others opinion about capitalism, but capitalism, for me, brings corruption as i live in a very corrupt country, that doesn't mean that i will hate everyone, but it is my option, probably will change opinion in the future, but meaning that i am Communist doesn't mean i am enemy of EVERYONE, i actually hate no one, i know there is a black book about the communism but the capitalism has it too, communism has disadvantage and capitalism too, take care everyone, bless.

@Reallock Демагогия о равенстве всех и каждого совершенно не умоляет заманчивости идеи коммунизма для большинства плохо подготовленных людей. Именно поэтому крестьяне 19 века приняли и начали продвигать идеи коммунизма в массы. Именно обычные пахари хотели коммунизм, но когда он настал самые ярые фанатики коммунизма стали тунеядцами и бездельниками. Стали рабами системы за которую они так сильно боролись. Начнём с того , что исторически идея коммунизма нигде и никогда осуществлена не была, даже в части духовного содержания. Любой, поживший в СССР прекрасно осведомлён о глубокой пропасти между партработником, совслужащим, рабочим и крестьянином. Экономическая составляющая социализма настолько убога, что даже писать не хочется. Отсутствие в свободной продаже большинства необходимого говорит само за себя. Кто не в курсе, просто вспомните те же очереди за туалетной бумагой или за сахаром и гречкой. Вот поэтому коммунизм и плох для нашей страны, а с такой ситуацией как у нас сейчас в стране, это полный бред. А еще рубль только укрепился, если наступит коммунизм, то тогда он будет на самом низу мирового рынка даже дешевле чем реалы. А восстановится они смогут только через года так 2. А учитывая нынешнюю ситуацию то укрепление советской валюты может продлится до 2040 года. Да и вообще людям в СССР жилось не так хорошо как вы себе представляете. Поэтому и вывод такой, коммунизм невыгоден как и с политического зрения, так и с экономического положения!) и точка.

От чего это пошло от капитализма, потому что смысл капитализма в капитале, пластик дешёвый и удобный, тем самым его начали изготавливать в больших количествах, а то что он долго разлогается, это уже проблема других капиталистов, ведь денежку ты уже получил. А в коммунизме, под пример возьмём СССР, была забота а будущем, планирование проектов, лучшее образование, строительство квартир для будущих семей, работа с молодёжью (школы, лагеря, культ здорового тела, тоесть утренние зарядки, спортивные секции). Пластик, был не нужен, ведь есть стеклянные бутылки, которые и подходили под стандарт "Светлого будущего", тем что производили на долго. Я может много написал, но надеюсь суть ты уловил.
My wife was raised in the USSR, and she has nothing but good things to say about it. She says no system is perfect, but that she felt very secure in her future in the Soviet Union. She was educated as an engineer (for free), given a flat (for free), had health care (for free). There was no unemployment, no homelessness. She was shocked when I told her about "duck and cover" drills we did when I was in school. Says that they (Soviet citizens) never worried about being bombed by the USA. Both of her parents were communist party members, but she never was. She had a great life in the Soviet Union.

Being socialist myself, I can tell you the inside: those who consider communism the true way to develop, also consider being a communist as a lot of work on yourself and a great responsibility. That is not only a matter of your politic views, its about variety of things. It`s like trying to be Chad IRL, speaking modern language. So, many of communist do not call themselves communists because they consider themselves not worthy enough.

@@UbcsAy as I said, that is not about only ideology itself; you can work as a police officer - or you can *serve* as a police officer, be a man with flawless behavior, highest moral principles, an example to follow, etc. That is why ''to support communism'' and '' to be a communist'' are not always the same things. Moreover, a lot of lies were told about communism here in Russia in early 90` and some people still might be afraid to call themself so, because there are many fairytales about ''million innocents who where eaten alive by Stalin personally" and people simply do not want a shadow of such tales being cast on them.
I was a little surprised to hear that a majority of responses from the younger people was a no. In the "west" we're told either that Russia is still socialist or that Putin is a secret communist. You'd think if that was the case the education would make people wanna say yes.

I'm sad to hear so many young people insisting that they're politically "neutral". Usually especially the young people's generation have a strong attitude to change things. I understand this as a sign of fear. Apparently in today's Russia it has become dangerous to be politically involved. As far as I know the word "politic" originates from the ancient Greek and means something like "from the people" or "for the people".
@@rahmetheus You have a point.. I live in the Netherlands. There is little trust / intetest in political parties among young people though the Woke movement among them is growing stronger.

We have one woke party in the Netherlands with one seat out of 150. We have more left wing parties who care about equal right / against racism but nothing really changed the past years. The woke movement and the media attention they demand results in slow changes made by political parties and the attitude of the people. Of course they make a lot of people angry as well, especially the right winged parties. The thing I don't like is their lack of listening to others / subtility. My ideal society would be one without neo-liberalism, a lot more care of our environment, more equal distribution of wealthfare like it was in the 1970ies in the Netherlands and way less consumerism. Maybey on social media (cancelling) but many more people are violent (threatening) on social media; Especially Corona, climate change denialists, conspiracy theorists and linked to thát movement fascists. They do share some Ideas I agree with on economical level (against globalism / we have to produce more goods within Europe), I agree with their vision of incompetance greedy politicians but their vision of a solution differs a lot with mine. I find it sad you see a lot of similarities now with the 1930ies. Practicality a democratic system like Iceland or Switserland would be fine to use. The system you want sounds like a socialist system Marx intended to use or as most people would describe it Communism. To make that work most of the people would have to agree with that and it would have be used worldwide. The risk to end up like the USSR would be too great otherwise I think.

Maybe even bottom-up like the CNT did in the 1930ies in Spain. Unfortunately education is getting more restricted in the usa at the moment banning books republican religious fanatics does not suit. If you have wel educated people willing to think for themselves, then a true democratic system might work. Но на этих уроках даже не могут нечего нормального рассказать . Зависит от человека , интересуется он историей или нет . Некоторые даже не знаю кто такой Ленин . Having lived in Russia during the late 00s and early 10s, I quickly learned that Russians are incredibly good at giving highly philosophical but ultimately very vague answers to the question "How do you feel about [topic]" if said topic is related to politics. In the west it offen seems just about everyone wants to make sure their opinion on just about everything is heard by everyone else. From my experience Russian society is VERY much the opposite of that. Interesting, though, that some of the older people interviewed ended up being the most outspoken ones, both for and against communist ideology.

В РИ были сотни стачек, частые крестьянскин восстание, 3 революции всего за 12 лет. Сейчас же такого даже представить сложно. В 90-х были также максимальные по масштабам митинги. Про тюрьму конечно тоже отчасти правда, но это никогда и нигде не мешало выражать своё мнение людям

@@ДжонНовостьThere have always been articulate young people who question issues/ideals throughout history. The problem is there are not as many people as in the past interested in hearing them speak. "We" are attracted to fads, sound bites and conspiracy theories. And talking about the abstract idea of communism, socialism, capitalism, etc. is not the same as living a few decades within any of those systems and then speaking. Yeah, some of these young people interviewed sound vapid, but it would be hard put to find random young* Americans who don't come across just as"primitive". *including other age groups

At work places we were able to replace a director by voting in case he started exceed their authority, treat workers disrespectfully, etc... If that's not democracy, I don't know what is. Many our liders - Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Gorbachev, Yeltsin - come from the working class! Some of them were working in factory - Yeltsin, for example. I'm not even saying about wonderful free education, medicine, confidence in the future. Today the young don't marriage because of absence of confidence at all. Speculation, inflation, overproduction crisis, unemployment - we had no idea about that befor first market reform in 1985. So don't tell me about abstraction. Secondly, education doesn't appear from nothing. Education is a derivative of economic relations. In other words, economy educates people for itself. Capitalistic Russia needs consumers, managers and sellers. And we have a lot. Soviet economy needed teachers, engineers, astronauts, doctors, and everybody could become whoever he wanted. Read your Western writers Urie Bronfenbrenner (Two Worlds of Childhood) and Lion Feuchtwanger (Moskau 1937).
If I got a dollar for every Russian claiming to be apolitical, I would be an oligarch by now. If "Apolitical" was a party, how many seats would it have gotten in the Duma?
Apolitical are like ostrich putting their heads in the ground. Its obvious that the govt has convince people not to speak up since they can't affect change. Being apolitical or neutral is not going absorbed people from evils committed in their names.
To be fair, you're mainly asking young people born after the fall of the Soviet Union. Ask some middle-aged and elders and you will get very different answers.
However, since he started these the past 2 months those who spoke to him were brought to the Police. Soviet era adults know better than to speak on camera with the new law of a minimum 12 Prison sentence for saying anything negative. I’m sure he asked many people who refused to reply or be on camera.
I asked my grandparents, parents, teachers (they are mostly old) and my grand grandfather. they all told me something like "of fuck no communism sacks"

I liked the responses of all of the older folks. Even ignoring the Soviet Union you can tell they've genuinely thought about their answers due to their experiences. It was more interesting to hear over "Idek what it is".
i’ve met many people who are communists that simply never labeled their ideology or knew of communism. and when i explain what communism is to apolitical people they tend to be in favour of it, or at least interested. you hear the words “communism doesn’t work” so often but never a reason why

But what about communist countries like North Korea, Venezuela, the USSR that failed, China that betrayed communistic principles and started to implement capitalistic elements in its economy. The obvious comparison what system is most effective is between North and South Koreas.

This. Soviet union collapsed because it grew generations of somewhat educated and politically conscious people who quickly realized that soviet system is fucking shit (yes, its ironic). Putin realized it and went completely opposite way. The political life of the country completely degraded to the point where people see zero alternative because they are simply not educated enough on politics.

It’s not perfect because there is corruption and lobbies, but definitely better than centralized economy where everybody is a puppet of the government. Если бы вопрос был: "Как вы относитесь к коммунизму, к коммунистической идеологии?", то и ответы, скорее всего, были бы более развёрнутыми💁♂

Проблема в том, что люди просто не знают, что такое коммунизм. Как идея - коммунизм очень хорош. Можете почитать даже на Википедии, и там более-менее вам объяснят (только поглубже залезьте). К примеру, бесклассовое общество; полное социальное равенство между абсолютно всеми людьми; отмена таких понятий (за ненадобностью), как: «государство» (и вытекающие из него: «границы», «территория», «контроль», «подавление» и т. д.), «деньги» (и все вытекающие: «банк», «кредиты», «труд, чтобы заработать на еду/питьё/жильё» и т. д.), «работа» (в более усовершенствованных версиях коммунизма предполагалась замена человеческого труда на труд искусственного интеллекта, а также на полную автоматизацию всех процессов). Вам просто достаточно почитать и понять концепцию, и уже потом - с большой вероятностью - вы согласитесь, что коммунизм - неплохая вещь, а даже нужная для человечества. Стремление к коммунизму и есть стремление к равенству и процветанию
@@aratv3766 в том-то и прикол. Вполне реально обойтись от таких жертв. Проблема лишь в том, что если ненасильственным путём строить социалистическое государство - всегда найдётся человек, который посчитает, что демократия с её "свободой слова и выбора" лучше, чем социализм с его "запретами на всё, что только можно". Плюс, времени потребуется гораздо больше, ведь придётся полностью переобучать население, пропитанное ненастоящей демократией (к сожалению, демократии, как в теории, тоже не существует, к примеру, страна "демократии" США, в которой настоящая свобода слова немного контролируется)

Каца я ни разу не смотрел, и я слышал его только один раз несколько месяцев назад. Я вообще не знаю кто он. США - это республика? Если да, я не знал. Но в любом случае, разве не они постоянно твердят о своей "либеральности" и "демократии"? Я привёл США как пример того, что даже в такой стране нет настоящей демократии, хотя эта страна - первая, спустя множество столетий, вновь начала активно идти по демократическим путям
Формулировка вопроса "считаете ли вы себя" очень плохая, по моему мнению. Если бы вопрос был "вы поддерживаете идеи коммунизма" ответ мог бы и отличается. Чтобы быть коммунистом недостаточно его поддерживать. Поэтому на подобный вопрос по другому ответить и не могли. Этот опрос мог быть более объективным при иной постановки вопроса. И вообще говоря, если в стране уже как 30 лет систематически поливают грязью социалистическое движение, то на какой результат вообще можно было расчитывать? Если целью опроса было показать что в России нет "красных коммунистов Иванов" то ладно, это по сути правда. Подобное отношение к идее о хорошем уровне жизни для всех, о прекращении эксплуатации человека человеком, это плохо что-ли? В западных странах хотят впахивать на работе с минимальным окладом? Хотят чтобы на них наживались, вели войны их руками за интересы элит? Что-то я сомневаюсь что большинство людей хочет себе такой судьбы.
On the part of the author, it would be more honest to show statistics taking into account people who expressed dislike for communism, apolitical citizens, citizens who expressed sympathy for the USSR and communists directly. As you understand, the result would have been completely different.
I like that the one younger guy that openly said that he sees himself as a communist is the only one that even mentions the terms "class" and "means of production", imo shows that he a firmer idea of the concept btw dont read atlas shrugged
So the majority of these people have passed the critical border control question to enter America. Seriously, they ask me that every time I go there. Sometimes I am so tempted to say yes just to see what would happen 😁

As an American can you please explain why "communist" is one of the worst things to say about someone? I was a kid when the Soviet Union collapsed and I was very surprised to see that in American culture, e.g. in movies, calling someone a "commie" is sometimes worse that calling someone a murderer. So I'm wondering what meanings are in this word for an American?

Most of them are young and they were born after the dissolution of the USSR. They are driven by a propaganda that Communism is shit with no freedom. On the other hand, if you ask elder people in Russia or Ex Soviet Countries 80% of them would turn out to be Communist or ones loving Soviet Union. It's batter to use some rules of formal logic. A correct definition contains of a generic concept and specific differences. By species differences I mean primary, fundamental features, not secondary.

most people associate communism with Soviet Union but USSR has never been communist country, it was only one version of socialist state. truth is that we never seen communist state and we cannot imagine what is like. in our thoughts about communism we can only rely on some theoretical concepts. a communist society is characterized by common ownership of the means of production with free access to the articles of consumption and is classless, stateless, and moneyless, implying the end of the exploitation of labour.

Любой, поживший в СССР прекрасно осведомлён о глубокой пропасти между партработником, совслужащим, рабочим и крестьянином. Экономическая составляющая социализма настолько убога, что даже писать не хочется. Отсутствие в свободной продаже большинства необходимого говорит само за себя. Кто не в курсе, просто вспомните те же очереди за туалетной бумагой или за сахаром и гречкой. Вот поэтому коммунизм и плох для нашей страны, а с такой ситуацией как у нас сейчас в стране, это полный бред. А еще рубль только укрепился, если наступит коммунизм, то тогда он будет на самом низу мирового рынка даже дешевле чем реалы. А восстановится они смогут только через года так 2. А учитывая нынешнюю ситуацию то укрепление советской валюты может продлится до 2040 года. Да и вообще людям в СССР жилось не так хорошо как вы себе представляете. Поэтому и вывод такой, коммунизм невыгоден как и с политического зрения, так и с экономического положения!) и точка.

От чего это пошло от капитализма, потому что смысл капитализма в капитале, пластик дешёвый и удобный, тем самым его начали изготавливать в больших количествах, а то что он долго разлогается, это уже проблема других капиталистов, ведь денежку ты уже получил. А в коммунизме, под пример возьмём СССР, была забота а будущем, планирование проектов, лучшее образование, строительство квартир для будущих семей, работа с молодёжью (школы, лагеря, культ здорового тела, тоесть утренние зарядки, спортивные секции). My wife was raised in the USSR, and she has nothing but good things to say about it. She says no system is perfect, but that she felt very secure in her future in the Soviet Union. She was educated as an engineer (for free), given a flat (for free), had health care (for free). There was no unemployment, no homelessness. She was shocked when I told her about "duck and cover" drills we did when I was in school. Says that they (Soviet citizens) never worried about being bombed by the USA. Both of her parents were communist party members, but she never was. She had a great life in the Soviet Union.

Having lived in Russia during the late 00s and early 10s, I quickly learned that Russians are incredibly good at giving highly philosophical but ultimately very vague answers to the question "How do you feel about [topic]" if said topic is related to politics. In the west it offen seems just about everyone wants to make sure their opinion on just about everything is heard by everyone else. From my experience Russian society is VERY much the opposite of that.
Interesting, though, that some of the older people interviewed ended up being the most outspoken ones, both for and against communist ideology.
It’s because western people are ignorant and not scared to hurt anybody.

And compare them to these young ppl.

Many our liders - Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Gorbachev, Yeltsin - come from the working class! Some of them were working in factory - Yeltsin, for example.

I liked the responses of all of the older folks. Even ignoring the Soviet Union you can tell they've genuinely thought about their answers due to their experiences. It was more interesting to hear over "Idek what it is".
i’ve met many people who are communists that simply never labeled their ideology or knew of communism. and when i explain what communism is to apolitical people they tend to be in favour of it, or at least interested. you hear the words “communism doesn’t work” so often but never a reason why

This. Soviet union collapsed because it grew generations of somewhat educated and politically conscious people who quickly realized that soviet system is fucking shit (yes, its ironic). Putin realized it and went completely opposite way. The political life of the country completely degraded to the point where people see zero alternative because they are simply not educated enough on politics.

Проблема в том, что люди просто не знают, что такое коммунизм. Как идея - коммунизм очень хорош. Можете почитать даже на Википедии, и там более-менее вам объяснят (только поглубже залезьте). К примеру, бесклассовое общество; полное социальное равенство между абсолютно всеми людьми; отмена таких понятий (за ненадобностью), как: «государство» (и вытекающие из него: «границы», «территория», «контроль», «подавление» и т. д.), «деньги» (и все вытекающие: «банк», «кредиты», «труд, чтобы заработать на еду/питьё/жильё» и т. д.), «работа» (в более усовершенствованных версиях коммунизма предполагалась замена человеческого труда на труд искусственного интеллекта, а также на полную автоматизацию всех процессов).
Вам просто достаточно почитать и понять концепцию, и уже потом - с большой вероятностью - вы согласитесь, что коммунизм - неплохая вещь, а даже нужная для человечества. Стремление к коммунизму и есть стремление к равенству и процветанию
как идея очень даже неплохая. Но на практике у всех стран, что пытались её достичь были многомиллионные жертвы. В общем на практике херня получалась.

Проблема лишь в том, что если ненасильственным путём строить социалистическое государство - всегда найдётся человек, который посчитает, что демократия с её "свободой слова и выбора" лучше, чем социализм с его "запретами на всё, что только можно". Плюс, времени потребуется гораздо больше, ведь придётся полностью переобучать население, пропитанное ненастоящей демократией (к сожалению, демократии, как в теории, тоже не существует, к примеру, страна "демократии" США, в которой настоящая свобода слова немного контролируется)

Если целью опроса было показать что в России нет "красных коммунистов Иванов" то ладно, это по сути правда. Подобное отношение к идее о хорошем уровне жизни для всех, о прекращении эксплуатации человека человеком, это плохо что-ли? В западных странах хотят впахивать на работе с минимальным окладом? Хотят чтобы на них наживались, вели войны их руками за интересы элит? Что-то я сомневаюсь что большинство людей хочет себе такой судьбы.

I was a kid when the Soviet Union collapsed and I was very surprised to see that in American culture, e.g. in movies, calling someone a "commie" is sometimes worse that calling someone a murderer.

Other than getting a glimpse of how the Russian soul might be ticking I also get a lection in "Don't judge a book by its cover!" with each and every one of your videos. While I am already judgemental with a new interviewee, they sometimes open their mouth and something intelligent, self reflected and interesting comes out that I haven't expected at all. SHAME ON ME!
The problem with them are that most of them don't even know what Communism is, what it means, what are it's drawbacks and advantages. Most of them are young and they were born after the dissolution of the USSR. They are driven by a propaganda that Communism is shit with no freedom. Maximum don't even understand politics and have no interest in politics, which is bad... people must take interest in politics of their country, that's how you can change systems. On the other hand, if you ask elder people in Russia or Ex Soviet Countries 80% of them would turn out to be Communist or ones loving Soviet Union. Because they know it's meaning, the life in a Communist Utopia, with free education and healthcare, with money in every hand and work.
A lot of elderly people praise Franco in Spain who crushed Marxism and made Spain a tourist state.
@@TheOne-po7ri yeah it varies from person to person and from country to country. Marxism was never understood by many leaders. Marx never told to stop tourism in a country. The leader's did.

Because in terms of economy and infrastructure, most of Russia was better off. Even more so for other ex soviet republics. There's also the scars left by the 90s.
