ngl I dont get why they dont just cover the whole screen with attacks like what sans does when you try to spare him
That’s called a betrayal kill. It’s a canon mechanic in Undertale’s lore that can only happen if an enemy lets down its guard and gets attacks. In the case of that fake out spare attack, Sans could only do it because we the player let our guard down by sparing him. Likewise, if a monster spares us, we the player can usually one shot them, for example Toriel and Papyrus, even if we didn’t choose to hit them until they spare us they die instantly.
what about flowey in the true pacifist route sure we didnt die because our friends but if they werent there we would die and im pretty sure flowey used vines to trap us so why cant sans make a bone cage@@Trio-
@@Sansmann the player and everyone else is actually caught by surprise, everyone let their guard down in that seen. No one was expecting Flowey, hence Flowey could commence a betrayal attack. If you noticed, Flowey could have killed us if it weren’t for the friends we made along the way using their magic to block Flowey’s attacks.

It’s supposed to be called “Triple The Threat (Disbelief Mix)” but I guess he made a mistake bruh. Anyway my reasoning for it is because it’s literally Triple The Threat until the Disbelief parts kick in.
