SPOILER WARNING Aizawa risks his life for his students multiple times in a row, ended up losing his leg and an eye just trying to protect them. His past wasn't the greatest yet he still became a teacher (dispite him not wanting to be a teacher). He may not be the nicest, but deep down, aizawa truely cares and just wants his students to become great heroes and not how shirakumo ended up. Even in the hospital, aizawa asked Yamada "How are the kids", so dispite him being beat up missing a leg and an eye, he worries about his students. And don't come at me with the "oh but he sleeps in a sleeping bag during class, that's not teacher additude" because this man needs his rest any time he can get it. He has dry eye and needs the shut eye so his eye can be less dry. Plus he's only the homeroom teacher, not the sensei that teaches every subject. Now I'm not saying he's the greatest sensei ever, but he's willing to kill everyone and himself if he had to, for his students. Yes, he expelled a whole class. That was to make the students "experience death" but he did re-enroll them back into UA. He's serious, stoic, rational, logical, and speaks the truth (most the time, since there are the "oh, that was just a ruse" moments). So if you can tell me that this version (the tourettes aizawa or whatever) is not that much worse as a teacher then canon aizawa, I'd like to stand you corrected. (Pls don't take this wrong I'm not trying to sound rude or be like "🤓" I just got bored and wrote this-)

I agree on all points (especially with Aizawa caring for his students, him improving a bit over time and dealing with trauma), except for his qualities as a teacher, in a legal sense. This is also not entirely his fault as a character, but also of the story, as it simply focuses on other things. Aizawa does poor decisions and neglects too much for me to see him as good teacher. The biggest complaint I have is his lackluster way of punishments: he expelled 2A entirely before any other actions for too little (which is a big deal in Japan, since it is extremely difficult to get a mediocre or better job if one got expelled. Sometimes even comparable to having had a prison sentence in other countries, sadly. The metaphorical death might be a little too spot on. One shouldnt kill 15 year olds). Meanwhile Bakugo, Mineta and even other students amass actual crimes and face minimal consequences. There are a lot of other issues I won't get into, discussing is fun but this would drag it even more. Aizawa is a very good hero and cares immensely for his students. His role should be swapped from "teacher" to "trainer" legally, so that atleast almost half of his responsibilities can be done by someone, who handles these better and actually cares about these responsibilities. That way, Aizawa can actually do what he is supposed to from the story: make sure kids dont die. I take no offence. But I think people, while rightfully pointing out Aizawas greatness, don't think or realize his unfortunatly massive flaws. I rambled a lot too, I just noticed.
